Side brackets would not fit flush to the side of my new Sony radio. I ended up using the same dash panel from the aftermarket radio that came with my car. I put in a return request and was promptly credited for the product.

The dash kit was a perfect fit. I think it should come with some pieces of foam weatherstripping for the air ducts. I had some in the garage and replaced the crumbling factory installed strip to make a good seal. It does not work with the factory bolts to secure a single din head unit, so theft could be an issue. I have a detachable face so it will not be an issue for us. The factory dash panel was worn so this was a nice new replacement.

Fits and looks great, but I have to admit I was a bit confused as none of the brackets would fit my new Sony DSX-B700W. Then after reading the instructions several times, I understood that on a double-DIN installation I had to use the existing OEM brackets. After that, the install went smoothly and all is well.

Really love this dash kit. Comes with a bunch of different rings that go around different stereos for what ever size you're installing. I installed a Kenwood KMM-BT328U and everything looks great. Had a rough time with the DIN cage that goes into the new dash kit, since the 'locking tabs' aren't really made obvious, so I just bent a few of the aluminum pieces and it seems to fit snug in there. It wiggles around, but I'll fix that later. The color is perfect, and I think it's a tad darker than OEM Stock. The surface of the dash kit is...rough. Feels like a very smooth sandpaper, but it's not absolutely horrible. Could be clear coated to make smooth. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this dash kit. It's exactly what I needed and for something that will be seen every single time I or somebody else gets in the vehicle, it's perfect and I have no regrets purchasing it.

Looks good, not perfect though.

It looks great -- very close match to the stock unit that came with my car. Also, I didn't have any problems installing it. However: - I can see holes above and below the stereo with this kit. These holes are meant for a piece that comes with the kit to go around the stereo face plate. However, it does not fit over my stereo. Not too unsightly unless you are being picky and looking for it. - The storage area under the stereo feels a bit loose (haven't heard it rattle while driving though) . Also, it is too small of an opening for things like sunglasses. I wouldn't use it for change or pens because it's too small to put my hand down in far enough to get to those items. It might have been better if the storage area was more shallow. - This kit pulls out of the dash a lot easier that the one that came with the car. I almost worry that it will come loose driving on a rough road. I thought it might be the clips that came with the kit, but pulling the clips off the stock unit to use instead didn't seem to help much.

'08 Eclipse GT

Add me to the small list of people who don't think the adapter brackets are all that great. Some of the roads around here are dirt or roughly paved, and the Eclipse rides a little hard. I looked at the installation, pondered, debated then wound up adapting the original, Metal brackets to my new Pioneer. Also, the first kit I received was missing the double din trim plate. Not Crutchfield's fault of course. They quickly sent one off to me. I would add another star for Crutchfield's great service. But this is a review of the Metra dash kit.

I had problems with the ISO mounts I attached to the head unit snapping into the faceplate. The mounts don't secure the head unit very well due to the fact that the tangs on the ISO mounts that are supposed to hold the unit in the faceplate don't extend out far enough or have enough outward spring tension to lock the head unit into place in the faceplate. I don't know; maybe I got a defective one. I also tried to use the DIN cage to mount the radio, but the instructions are vague and do not supply a good enough picture of where the tabs are you're supposed to bend to hold the unit in place. One figure gives a "blowup" of where the tabs are you're supposed to bend, but the blowup is still too small to see what or where these tabs are on the DIN cage, and you can't really tell anything from the picture since it doesn't really look anything like the cage you have in your hand.

Security issue, Easy to stole

Other kits used the oem radio brackets, this is not one of them. This radio only uses 6 clips on the mounting kit, like the oem. To take it out, just pull the face plate and remove the hazard switch. The plastic is not perfect, but it's acceptable. For double din unit you need to cut it, if you want to change to single din, you need to buy a new one. Overall, the kit is good, mitsubishi fails big time on the Eclipse, regarding security.

This replacement panel for the stereo fit perfectly. The look is completely factory,and so easy to install. A must have for installation and Crutchfield's price is more than 1/3 less than a stereo store. (If they even know that it exist) . These guys know stereo as well as install parts. Crutchfield is #1.

I was totally impressed that this plastic kit came with my head unit. It was perfect for my 2007 Eclipse RS and installed without a hitch. Hint: be sure to remove the white clips from the back of your old one as you will need to install them onto this new unit before setting it back into the dash. Otherwise the dash plastics won't "snap" or lock into place. Probably obvious for a lot of you, but I'm a newbie, having only installed about ten head units. Awesome product and it works perfectly. I also appreciate the new "cubby" in which I can store my phone while driving!

Fits great but...

It's very easy to install and fits perfectly. However, I'm so glad this was free. I installed a single DIN head unit and the tray underneath can have a gap. It should lock securely in one spot. Plus you can see the notches that are left for installation of a different type of head unit. These are fairly minor issues and somewhat understandable considering how many different head units there are available.

This is a grey graphite colored unit not black

This gives a good look to your vehicle for a double or single din. I bought the pioneer premier f90bt unit and it's shiny black which kind of throws off the graphite grey that this product is colored in. But i guess overall it's ok and applicable and gives the factory look but if they had made this in in all black then i would have loved this unit much more better. But overall this piece set looks better than the factory one.
