Keep moving, nothing to see here

This is a piece of garbage. The holes in the vertical brackets don't line up, the tabs that hold the storage compartment on the face broke off, and there's practically nothing holding the stereo in place. I had to jury rig this thing to get it to work. Not at all what I expected from Metra. I've ordered several items from them in the past but this is absolutely the worst. If you can find something else buy it.

Metra 99-8150 Lexus Dash Kit

I used this Dash Kit to install a Kenwood KMM-BT728HD into my aging 1995 Lexus ES300... I like it, the looks are good and the tray is functional. The fit was almost a perfect alignment with the metal screw points and it went in without much fuss at all. I gave it a 4 star because 4.5 wasn't available.. and because it is a little light... but it is adequate.

Install kit for 1995 Lexus ES 300

Horrible design! I'm surprised Crutchfield would send out a product like this considering everything else I have gotten is Top Notch! I had to send for a second one as the first ones tiny little plastic tabs which hold the face-plate on (which in turn needs to bear the weight of the head unit), Broke Off! After some modifications with the second one, I managed to (sort of!) get it installed. Looks terrible, does not fit (so tight it caused the wiring in the climate control where the hazard wiring is located to short and be fixed), and sticks out, not flush. My biggest concern is this installation is so insecure it would take a thief about 10 seconds to make off with the head unit! Thank goodness mine has a removable face-plate! Take yours with you!

get what you paid for

Since it comes free theres no real room to complain, but it is made of plastic not vinyl and the clips to attach the holding basket together snap after the first time, so it has to be done right the first time

No_Perfect

Got this for my 95 lexus ES 300 as a free installation kit with Clarion system. The clarion system was really good, but the thing is that the installation kit was not that perfect to fit in my car. It has a plastic frame on the side that fits to the car dash, the problem is that it is not perfectly fitting my car, it bumps out little does give a really flush look. Was not that satisfied got little disappointed with it. Also the front frame holding the receiver is held by four flimsy plastic hooks that eventually broke while installing couldnt hold the weight of the system. Then I have to use my idea to keep it in place. Especially in the lexus I couldnt use the side screws, as I have to use the outer cage of the system where there is no provision to use the screws which leads to the imperfect fitment. I guess they should have given metal frame instead of the plastic frame which goes with the dash, as we can adjust the metal frame according to the screw holes. But plastic stays firm not allowing us to adjust.

the plastic bracket did not hold radio secure enough I had to add some small screws to hold radio in place so it would not stick out and everything is too tight in this unit for this type of car I put it in ,not a good set up like every other radio I got from crutchfield

Perfect fit!

Fit beautifully in my 1993 ES300. Does not detract from the look of the console and even adds a little storage slot. Kit was easy to install. Thanks Crutchfield!
