Marine stereo receiver cover

I bought this stereo cover for the Kenwood marine stereo that I bought for my Harley Davidson Road King. The fit is great and the install was easy, but when the cover is opened to access the stereo, the cover does not stay up. Not totally terrible, should definitely keep the stereo protected but I wish it would stay up when opened.

This cover works great even in the HOT, SALTY, Hawaiian waters. Average wind speeds are about 20- 30 mph in the waters between islands and the cover blocked out all the wind splash. If can stand up to these harsh conditions, it will protect your investment even better in a fresh water lake. My son broke the cover by accident while traveling between islands, so I had to buy another one.
Pros: Awesome protection!
Cons: You have to open the cover to hook up AUX or USB connections of you don't have Bluetooth connections.

Great way to add extra protection in my river jeep. However it will not waterproof it. Buy an aftermarket mounting unit and a marine receiver and mount it in the glove box and once it's all hooked up silicone all openings and it keeps it nice and dry for the most part when you get into the deep water! It's extra work but worth it if you don't want to keep buying new receivers every week

Nice Fit / Weak Spring

Worked perfect for my application. Nice look and protection from the elements.After one week the cover would not stay open...contacting Crutchfield for advice.
Pros: Ease of installation. Good protection for the radio face.

Looks nice. The Metra's big, rounded corners didn't cover the entire cutout of my dash.

Helps, not a cure for wet use in a Jeep

Crutchfield specifically lists this as a way to protect a radio in your Jeep. This certainly helps protect the faceplate, IF you have no issues with dash interference. But in my TJ, water reaches the back and top of the radio area through the dash. This is NOT an alternative to a marine rated head unit in a Jeep you really do get WET, but it could be the final piece in keeping a marine rated radio dry in truly wet use of your Jeep. By itself, it will NOT be enough to keep a non-marine head unit from shorting out when spashing through the wet stuff with the top off. Take note, though, marine rated head units tend to be water resistant, not waterproof; you can't submerge them.
