Looks great. Thought I was going to have to paint to match the gray in my car. But matches very well. First kit arrived damaged from shipping I'm sure. Crutchfield rushed a new one to me free of charge. Thank you crutchfield!

2005 Jaguar X-Type
Kit worked perfectly and was extremely easy to use. The instructions were pretty straight forward and everything fit just as it was supposed to. The quality was great and for a great price.
Pros: Simple, fast, easy and great price.
Cons: Very few colors, lack of options for more luxurious cars.

Good kit but with one big flaw...

2003 Jaguar X-Type
Nice kit and does what it is supposed to do and the color is a great match with the original but... The trim ring is not quite 7"x4" which is the size of most lower end double Din units on the market. I called them and they were no help. I called Crutchfield and they said to trim the already very thin trim ring but had no suggestion on how to do it. I have read numerous comments on installation and there are many YouTube videos and most indicate the trim ring had to be filed/trimmed to make it fit. I would be glad to pay more if they would include a trim ring that is 7"x4" inside and the rating would be 5 starts. Rather than modify the trim ring, I will see if I can get one made with the correct size fabricated using a 3-D printer.
Pros: Allows you to mount the unit on you specific car and the color match ()gray) was very good..
Cons: Trim ring is not the right size..

Instructions were great, and it works well. Only negative is that I would have liked to know beforehand the we also need a wire harness/jumper to be able to connect the radio antenna.

Overall I'm not happy with this kit. It's difficult to seat a DIN sleeve securely and the pressure fit ISO mount pops right back out of the main kit. Luckily the pocket can be placed on the top OR bottom as there was more depth clearance for the deck in the lower position. I ended up having to Dremel off a small portion of the ISO tabs and moved the deck forward 3/8" to get it to fit into the dash, otherwise when putting the climate/radio unit in the dash the lack of space would make the radio pop right out of the kit. Overall I'm happy I didn't have to make my own kit but I'm sad this one isn't as solid as others I have used.
Pros: -They make a kit for this less common car (02 X-Type) -Finish matches climate controls
Cons: -Sloppy pocket fit, lines don't match up -Very little mounting depth when using DIN sleeve or ISO mounting tabs as they are intended. -Finish does match factory but it also grabs dust and dirt like a pro -Mounting holes on sides could have a better fit against the factory plates that secure the lower part of the radio

To the person who said the colors didn't match, he didn't select the right one. There are two you can buy when you complete your order, GREY or BLACK. I bought Grey one to fit with the new double din radio I was adding the the color and finish match the inside of the jaguar like it came from the factory. I was a little worried as the radio isn't held together to the climate control unit as snugly as it used to be, but as they're both separately bolted in, it doesn't matter. This worked great and was easy to use.
Pros: Color matches perfectly, looks stock.
Cons: Doesn't feel as sturdy as the metal harness the stock radio came with, but is fine once bolted on.

Radio panel adaptor kit for Jaguar X-Type

Kit performs as expected. A lot more flimsy than I would expect, but it did the job. I do appreciate the extra compartment instead of just a blank panel... nice touch there. Would like it to be in more colors than black... you definitely can tell it is an aftermarket installation and contrasts to existing grey panel in my car. I also had to make a small modification on the plastic to allow for the radio to fit... but it does not show in the final installation. Finally, the radio had to be placed at the BOTTOM and the compartment at the top.. radio will not go back in unless this was done due to the engine barrier/dashboard.
Pros: Easy to install, extra compartment.
Cons: only one color, made of basic plastic instead of a more comparable molded type to match the car.

Installed just as expected. Parts of it were thin plastic and worried me, but they were durable enough to get my JVC double-din installed properly. Colors match well and it looks natural. As another reviewer said, be extra careful when cutting off the tabs on the top.
Pros: Colors match well.
Cons: Flimsy plastic, but not too bad. Cutting off the proper tabs can be tricky.

Perfect match to exisiting dash color and it looks great. Only one caution - depending on install type you need to cut off one tab in a series of two tabs. Don't be too aggressive and slice through both tabs like what happened to me.
