I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500. Do I have to cut into it to be able to fit a double din in the new frame?
[ Jack  Nov 30, 2020 ]
2 answers
I did not have to cut into mine. My Double Din fit perfectly.
[ STEVEN  Nov 30, 2020 ]
No I ordered mine from crutchfield and it fit perfectly
[ Manuel  Nov 30, 2020 ]
If I got a pioneer avh 2550-nex radio would it fit in this dash kit? It has a 6.8 screen I believe.
[ Joyner_46  Feb 28, 2020 ]
1 answer
Yes that dash kit will accommodate a double dine sized radio like that Pioneer. Even though the screen is 6.8" wide the entire unit measures close to the standard 7" x 4" double din size.

Has anyone use a carbon fiber wrap on this dash kit?
[ Mitch  Mar 22, 2019 ]

no didn't try
[ Randall  Mar 23, 2019 ]
I used it on my 99 Silverado. Only wish it was color matched.
[ chris  Mar 22, 2019 ]
Does this fit all screen sizes on a double din just got a 7 inch Kenwood dnx892 and want to make sure this will fit?
[ Jeff  Dec 29, 2018 ]
2 answers
The Kenwood DNX892 is actually slightly smaller than my application by ~.05 inch to 2/16 inch on each side. It will fit fine.
[ ADDISABABA B.  Dec 30, 2018 ]
I used this dash face with a Kenwood double din unit, but mine did not have a screen, just a large LED display. However, the opening should be large enough for a screen on a double din unit as long as there is some border around the screen.
[ Robert  Dec 29, 2018 ]
Does the outer edge of the bezel have a leather grain texture like the factory bezel?
[ caymon  Apr 03, 2018 ]
5 answers
NO, THE OUTER EDGE IS PLAIN. The bezel looks great. I left the original black because the rest of the instruments were black in my truck and it blends in perfectly. You would never know this is a" after market " installation.
[ Lyle  Apr 03, 2018 ]
No just plan black plastic.
[ Richard  Apr 03, 2018 ]
No, it is just matte black plastic
[ Sam  Apr 03, 2018 ]
I purchased the kit over a year ago and it fits well. It is flat black and ready for paint. There is no trim detail on it.
[ Joseph  Apr 03, 2018 ]
No the whole bezel is smooth
[ Michael  Apr 03, 2018 ]
My 2002 Yukon Denali has a Onstar Panel located on the right side of the Dash Panel under the air vent. The Onstar Panel is a small rectangle, much smaller than the opening in the picture on your replacement Dash Panel on your website (appears to be at least half the size in height). Is there an adapter for the Onstar Panel to make it fit in the larger cut out on the aftermarket bezel? Thanks for your help.
[ Tyler  Jan 10, 2018 ]
1 answer
I don't see any adapter being included for using with that OnStar panel. Also, I've looked through the information we have on this kit including the manual that comes with it. I don't see any mention of having OnStar panel there causing any issues or needing any extra parts which leads me to believe it won't require any extra parts to install. Also, I wanted to mention we don't have a way to keep OnStar working when the radio is replaced; not even if we use a single din radio so you don't have to use this kit. My Bio:

does the clear plastic come with the kit, or are we supposed to use old one ( mine is cracked and missing a piece in lower left corner??) Id like to find out before ordering
[ jim  Dec 13, 2017 ]

no its just dash cover
[ SCOTT  Dec 17, 2017 ]
No, this is just the plastic that surrounds everything. It's a matte black finish, which is a nice contrast to the interior color. Works great for when you convert the radio to a double DIN unit. Mine was a really good fit, but you may want to use the factory clips as I believe they hold better than the ones provided in the kit. If you pop off your current factory plastic, that is exactly what you get to replace with this kit, nothing more.
[ KEN  Dec 15, 2017 ]
I don't understand your question I have a 2001 GMC 3500 and the piece that extends from above the radio down past the a/c control module pops off and you replace it with the new one. It was a perfect fit
[ JAMES  Dec 15, 2017 ]
Do you have that in beige color?
[ Raman  Oct 28, 2017 ]
1 answer
Sorry, no. We only stock it in black.

Will this dash fit my 2000 chevrolet silverado single cab truck ?
[ Gary  Oct 02, 2017 ]
1 answer
This is the recommended dash trim for a double DIN stereo install in the 2000 Chevy Silverado, yes. You'll also need a wiring harness and an antenna adapter. You can be sure to get all of the recommended installation accessories for your truck by using the "Find what Fits" application on our website here: I hope that helps! My Bio:

I recently installed the Kenwood DPX501BT in a Chev Cobalt, the vehicle got totaled. Now I'm gonna installing it in my Silveradao 2000. Can the same wire hardness be used for this vehicle?

Just for clarification, besides wiring, etc. Is there anything else I need to install a DDIN in my 2001 GMC Yukon Denali XL? I can just replace this bezel & good to go?

Press Release: Holly Hill, FL - Metra Electronics announced four new color options for the DP-3002 dash panel. The DP-3002 dash panels are designed for 1999-2002 full-sized GM trucks and SUVs, including Chevrolet's Avalance, Silverado, Suburban, and Tahoe, along with GMC's Sierra and Yukon*. This large panel replaces the factory dash panel and provides the space for a modern Double-DIN radio. The climate controls are moved slightly and by using this dash panel and trim plate, no custom fabrication work is required. The original DP-3002B dash panel was first introduced in matte black, but will now include a textured black, gray, pewter, and shale color option to match the factory appearance. The DP-3002 dash panels are made in the U.S.A. and available now from Metra Electronics in the following options: DP-3002B: Matte Black DP-3002TB: Textured Black DP-3002GY: Gray DP-3002PWT: Pewter DP-3002SHL: Shale This part appears to be available online from several sources in Realtree Camo as part number RTX-DP-3002, but I did not find it on Metra's website. I beleive I read that these are all black plastic but are painted by Metra to match GM trim colors. Expect to pay significantly more for any of these models than you will pay for the black one as part of a Crutchfield installation package.

Does this have a wood grain finish like my stock dash?

For all those who answered that this item has a black primer, you are wrong it is not a primer but rather a scratch resistant black "paint" finish more similar to powder coating. Also those that answered it is easily painted you are also wrong. I spent over an hour on the phone with Metra and SEM (auto interior paint supplier) to educate myself on the proper products and steps before painting this item. I finally gave up after 3 attempts. Each time I followed the directions I was given to the letter and I got wrinkles throughout the entire piece. Tried different primers, cleaners, and application methods with no success. Metra and SEM both told me it could easily be painted by just using the correct cleaner and then primer before painting. After wasting many hours of time sanding, cleaning, priming, painting only to repeat time after time it never worked. I found out, after 3 time consuming attempts, that the original paint must entirely be removed prior to any paint or primer application. If you are thinking I will just use a chemical stripper to remove all the Metra applied paint, think again. Of all the chemical paint strippers made, very few are safe for use on ABS plastic, and of the ones that are warn of structural damage making the ABS brittle. The only course of action to paint this item is to manually sand all the original paint off the part and start from there. In my opinion the factory finish looked perfectly acceptable on my dads charcoal interior, but stood out like a sore thumb on my pewter colored interior. Metra told me it could be painted just using the correct primer which was not true. The part was damaged going off the information supplied by the manufacturer and I feel like they should supply me another part. After calling Metra I was told "I am sorry your project didn't work out you should buy another and try again.
[ Kevin  Apr 10, 2017 ]
it has a little texture to it, but not like the factory. It's smoother. It's all black, and is paintable with the right kind of paint. I think duplicolor has the tan at most auto parts stores if that's your color.
[ TD  Jul 03, 2016 ]
No! It's has a black primer finish, you need to apply you own favorate finish
[ Patrick  Jul 07, 2015 ]
No. It comes black. You would need to paint it
[ Greg  Jul 06, 2015 ]
No, it came with a flat black finish. It looks nice on my Yukon 2002, but you coming from a wood grain finish might not be so happy about it.
[ Rigel  Jul 06, 2015 ]
No, it is a smooth flat black finish. It still looks good and fits well though.
[ Jesse  Jul 06, 2015 ]
My kit came with a black finish and I did not see an option for different finishes. I would chat with a rep and see if the offer others.
