Terrible, required modifications.

I'm not sure if they gave me the wrong harness but mine required soldering the head unit wires to the wiring interface. I followed the instructions to a T but it still didn't not work. I had to unwrap the wiring tape to see what's going on and determined the red wire did not go anywhere so I had use my own red wire and connect it to a power source. The connector to the factory harness fitted fine.

Wiring mayhem

Everything functioned flawlessly once installed, but there were no instructions to wire up the loom to the wiring look that came with the radio. Crutchfield advisors were quite helpful in helping us figure it out.

Audio side of the unit wired up without issue and most of the instructions were good. Two issues to be aware of - PLEASE UPDATE DOCUMENTATION!!!; - the ACC connection in my RAM 1500 2 door did not work, which made the entire stereo not work, which almost made me send it back DOA, however, the Boss audio folks know about this issue and told me the fix. Connect the ACC wire to the ACC powered 12V outlet to the bottom left of the console. - the "dinger" unit continues to ding after ignition is turned on, no idea why and have not submitted a ticket on this, i just disconnected it as my truck dinger continued to work just fine. Bizarre.

Great and easy instructions worked great. Didn't have any problems with the multiple connections to try aftermarket wire harness. My advise would be to have Crutchfield do it. Not difficult to do. Just painfully tedious. Would be a lot better to just "Plug and Play".

Nice harness and designed clean but when all connected up per instructions I had no power and no access power up (amp turn on) I had to run power from fuse box in engine bay and made the install a bit harder and less clean.

Poor quality control, you should have at least bench tested harness to insure wiring integrity. But you didnt...I spent all day ripping out my dash only to find when it's all back together your harness isnt seeing the parking break circuit. Nope it's not my vehicle because when brake is applied it appears on dashboard...so it's working. Do now I get to spend another weekend day fixing your poor QC QA problem....humm makes me want to box this junk up and send it back...also no adaptors for XM radio really! Truck equipped to handle so I have to buy another part...wow...great job...NOT!

Bought this to install a Kenwood headunit in my 2014 ram 1500. At first the stereo wouldn't power on. Finally after using a multimeter I figured out The 12v ignition wire didn't work so I had to wire the red ignition wire to my cigarette lighter to get it to work. A lot of unnecessary headache putting this in. I finally got it to work tho.

Everything fit just perfectly. It was quite the wad of wires for this novice and there were some plugs I did not know what to do with. There were no specifice instructions. BUT. One call to Crutchfiled on their 8000 tech support line and I had it all figured out. The ready harness no doubt saved me time and most certainly, anxiety.

Installed in a 2014 Ram 1500 Q cab. Prefect harness and works just as it should. Some wires are not used depending on your application and unit. Match the colors up with the head unit harness and you are good to go.

Wiring confusion

I cant say this is a good wiring interface because this one is suppose to work on my wife's 2016 Ram and I tried 2 of them and stereo would not work. Axxess needs to find out from Chrysler what they did to the wiring in truck because it's not getting power.

Good for basic installation

Great for the basic installation, but when i buy a factory harness, if it DOESN'T include something, it should say so in the description. In fact, it included things it said it didn't in the description. I was supposed to pay more for the kit that had the steering wheel connections, which the lower packages of a 2015 ram 1500 don't come with anyway, so i bought this harness kit. It ended up having steering wheel controls, but not the plug needed to connect factory center console usb charging and aux inputs to the aftermarket stereo which is in even the lowest package of all ram trucks in that series. I ended up having to buy it separately. One final problem, 3 wires from the harness leftover at the end that all look blue and white and aren't labled even in the MasterSheet. Found out after inspecting under 3 different types of light that one of these was the blue and pink wire i was looking for, but the pink is so faint it looks white. I assume the other 2 were remote leads so i capped and taped them off. Good for the price, but not 100% what i thought i was getting in the initial purchase per description.

This wire harness was simple to use on my 2016 ram 1500. Straight forward although it says it has retained accessory power my radio shuts off as soon as I turn the key off. Not sure if it's the harness or radio but either way I'm still happy with this
