Great unit for the price...

Exceptional head unit for the price. Instal wasn't that bad for me, but a casual, shade tree, mechanic might run into a couple of hurdles. I highly recommend a dash kit to make the install even easier. If you're scared of doing any kind of wiring I would also recommend the pre-wired service Crutchfield offers. That's the route I took, seeing as I'm old, fat & lazy now. I suppose if I wanted to complain, I kinda wish there were a bit more'grunt' or Sub Only tuning from the head unit. I split the Sub Out to feed 2 amps & may have cut the relative db down a couple of notches, so take my issue with the grain of salt. Otherwise, sale was quick & painless & shipping was pretty quick. So long as you do a bit of homework on your components you'll basically have no issues from Crutchfield.

Great Stereo for the Price!

Good quality stereo. Installation wasn't too difficult. The instructions could have been a little more forthcoming with more illustrations/photos. I was left with plugs and connectors that were left over from the old stereo, and I had no idea what to do with them, but I connected everything up by the process of elimination. i.e., I plugged in a connector where it would fit. Obviously, it worked because it played when I turned it on. I'm not sure if all the speakers work in my Highlander yet because I haven't had the time to check the speaker output but I don't think they do? In any event, the Pioneer stereo manual does not say how to adjust the speaker balance and fade and bass/treble. On a positive note, all the steering wheel controls function properly. As for the Master Sheet, I feel it was a bit overpriced. I wouldn't say that except most of the pages told how to replace the speakers, but since I had the factory JBL speakers I didn't need that. The "accessory device" instructions, when included, weren't that helpful either, except the one that came with the dash adapter. I will say this; that after I installed it, it looked like it came from the factory that way! The color of the receiver adapter matched the factory dash perfectly and it looked fantastic. Would I buy another stereo from Crutchfield? ABSOLUTELY! This is my third purchase, and the stereos I bought for my Smart car and 01 Dodge Dakota still look and work great.

Stereo is good. Nice upgrade to the stock system. However the Weblink does not work. Downloaded the app and followed the instructions. Would load everything but would not play the music.

Replace OEM 2004 Colorado

Great sound and quality for the price. Had to call tech support, when initially turned on the sound was almost inaudible. After some trouble shooting discovered installation kit was plugged in wrong from Crutchfield. Changed plug from Bose to non Bose and everything worked perfectly.

Crutchfield is great. but pioneer sucks.

the web link app SUCKS.but you have to use it .and it wont work with apple carplay wired.cant use maps. you can't use your phone on bluetooth unless you are in weblink.

So far, so good. Installation went off without a hitch on the stereo. I'm still waiting on my new speakers to actually see a difference..., my stocks are blown. So far the radio/Media player does everything it is supposed to, and more.

This is a really good headunit, I am very pleased with how easy it was to setup. Only dim or drawback is that it can't read my iPod so I had to go over to a thumb drive.

Garbage

Its not android auto or car play. Its its own app environment and it locks your phone down. That alone has me wanting to return.

Doesn't work ! Paid extra money to have it (plug n play) . No sound at all. When calling for help, not very useful. Also ,when asked to repeat himself because I couldn't hear him,got an attitude. Never again!

Pioneer and Weblink very unsatisfactory.

Good sounding receiver. Weblink host app is ridiculous. Never got it to work. Even after giving it every permission available on your phone, it still is bad.No way of using Android auto or Apple. Returned it after 2 days of trying to get it to work. Waiting on a true Android Auto reciever to arrive. Crutchfield was great about the return. Install was a breeze with the pre-made harness.

It's ok but not great...

It's a decent budget head unit for the price. I primarily got this so I could add a backup camera to my car and reliable bluetooth. I also needed either white or red led to match my cars' interior lighting. The LED lights on the left are color changeable but the "white" is more light blue. Not a lot of features or customization though. Literally 3 lame backgrounds and you can't upload other images. Also the install kit provided by Crutchfield for my 2013 Subaru Impreza positions the unit recessed instead of sitting flush with the trim, flush would have looked better, more oem, especially with the large flat screen imho. I've always had Pioneer head units in my cars/trucks. I will probably switch brands next time around as Pioneer keeps stripping away features and quality out of their lower tier units.

Solid headunit

Very easy to set up Bluetooth is good. The touchscreen buttons on the side are a little annoying while driving because you have to look down to make sure you pressed them.

Perfect double din!

Excellent head unit! I didn't need anything special, just wanted a nice double sun with Bluetooth capabilities. This did the job and some! Very pleased!

This unit leaves a lot to be desired. This is super basic and lacks much customization. The screen resolution is bad and the side buttons on red constantly go from red to pink and back. I have a 6 year old pioneer double din that i like much better than this one. The positives to this one though is the start up is quick, looks clean, and the Bluetooth connection works well and seems to be reliable enough. I would not buy this specific one again or recommend to anybody.

I am kinda disappointed in this unit due to it shows an ipod icon on the screen so I assumed it was iPod compatible but after completing installing it and wasting time trying to get it to work and talking to your customer support I found out it is not ipod compatible and I really don't feel like removing it to send back! I know I should have checked to see if it was compatible but why show an icon on the screen that doesn't work?

We're sorry about the iPod/iPhone confusion, Michael. Pioneer unfortunately uses the terms "iPod" and "iPhone" interchangeably, although that's not accurate compatibility information. This Pioneer is compatible with iPhone 6 models and later. Compatibility for iPods in car stereos has waned over the years. While we do have compatibility information listed in our presentation, we can see about making it more prominent and passing along this feedback to our representatives at Pioneer. Michael still has the opportunity to use our 60-day return policy if he decides to go that route.
