Im So Disappointed with this unit. I have shopped with Crutchfield for years and have had little to no problems with anything Ive purchased and installed in the past. This unit SUCKS!! It does not connect to my ipods or android phones. Which makes it useless to me. The functions and features were very confusing and hard to understand. The USB post sucks and is glitchy when used. I really don't know what else to say. It SUCKS!!!

It is OK PRODUCT for the price, not too happy with the USB option, when tru 4 usb drives, and only one works, it is formated according the specs from pioneer. Again not too happy, other options work good.

I knew I was buying a low priced radio, so I wasn't expecting much. Overall, the unit does what I wanted - I wanted to be able to play the audio files that are on my phone (android), and it does that. What I don't like is that every time I connect my phone to the unit via the USB port, I get an error on my phone because I don't have the app installed. I do not want to install an app, so this is a bit of an annoyance. Also, if I turn the unit off while in the middle of a song, or even almost to the end, when I turn the unit back on, it restarts the song from the beginning! This is very annoying!!! Again, maybe this is because I don't have the app, but I do NOT want to install an app to use the unit!! Even with those annoyances, I would have considered giving this unit 3 stars. I gave it 2 because the unit I got has an issue with what I consider to be a functionality problem. After watching Crutchfield's video on their scratch & dent products, it was stated that there would not be any functional issues with a scratch and dent unit, only a cosmetic one. Again, I was not looking to spend much for a basic unit. The only option for purchase on this unit was a scratch and dent one, so I went ahead a got it. The unit is supposed to have a detachable face plate. The unit I got will not release the face plate. I press the release button and it kinda pops up a little bit, but the face plate will NOT come off!! Now that would not be a deal breaker for me had that been...

Basic+ Replacement

Illumination - LED display washes out in sunlight. Works great in the dark. Button illumination is narrow. From the driver's side, buttons 1, 3, and 5 are brighter. OEM had backlit LCD display with continuous clock reference. Clock is an afterthought. (see illumination) Ended up installing a separate analog clock to glance at. Ergonomics - Buttons are very small and not intuitive. Not a good idea to be distracted from the road. No idea why "bass" is over sized and prominently displayed. Very fiddly to get clear, satisfying sound depending on talk vs music. Initial default volume is louder/softer depending on source. Volume control can be slow to respond. Turn the knob too quick and nothing really changes. Volume is comparable to stock system. As boomy as one wants it to be. I like the USB option. Able to play long-lost albums, audio books, or podcasts. However, playback sequence is random. Use a FAT sorting program to fix this. Purchased based on reliability/longevity reviews.

Great receiver from Pioneer

Purchased this Pioneer head unit after seeing all the Digital media only receivers were out of stock. No regrets at all, having CD capability expands my options. I smirked at the remote until I realized the complexity of the menu options on this bugger. Way too many choices for old school dude here. Occasionally I hit the wrong button on the head unit and go into some kind of Klingon cloaking device controls or something, and have to hit the "SRC" on the remote so I can get back to the standard menu. One day I will set the clock to the correct time. Crutchfield was out of my preferred amp, Pioneer GM-A3702, so I had to purchase it from the evil empire. Focal RCX-690's installed in the hat rack on my crusty old 91 Olds Ciera. Glad I went with Pioneer, my first car, a 56 Chevy 210, had a Pioneer cassette player with Jensen two-ways and an Audiovox Soundblaster (lol) back to jamming again at 59 years old. : - )

Very pleased with this unit. Very easy installation with the free wiring harness. It reads old CD's that my old factory unit wouldn't read. Absolutely love it. Love the remote control that came with it. It's playing through new Kicker speakers that I bought with the unit. Sound is incredible. My truck is a diesel and is loud in the interior. This has plenty of power to play music through my loud interior noise.

Excellent for the price! Although I wanted Bluetooth and ordered the wrong one, I was surprised with the quality and functionality! Clear easy to read, output to speakers is not choppy. Ordered Rockford Fosgate Speakers to pair it with and they compliment very nicely!

This Product in a whole is a good option, now as for a Mercedes Benz SLK 230 Radio Replacement option it's not bad. Really all that needed to be done as for modifications was to take two wires splice them together and get an Antenna Adapter and bang. Radio works. I'd say that it's pretty good as replacements go and it works great in my car, I'd just suggest getting the install kit with it. Makes installing the radio a lot easier, at least in my case. But other then that the radio works great, I've had no issues with it so far. So I feel comfortable giving it a 5/5 star rating.

description not clear

gotta say I am disappointed with my purchase of the dev-s1200ub. I bought it for the usb connection. Now in the description it says that there is no iPod control but it didn't mention that an iPhone/pod would not even play songs! I thought it meant I wouldn't be able to change the song from the stereo which I would've been fine with. They should be more clear about how they describe this item. Now I'm stuck with this unit installed.. dangit!

Unit up grade

Just received 10/13/20, it was very easy to install and to set up. Sounds great, looks nice. This was a replacement for a defective Dual XDMA 450 that was purchased 9/30/20. It was suggest from Garett to go to this model instead of the other that was purchased in September. Seams to be a very good update, thanks Garett.

The deck is okay,I'd spend another 20-30$ and get something a little better. The one I received the CD player would not work. I called customer service and spoke to dean who was awesome. The Kid is Hot Tonite!

WOW! How easy was that?!?! I purchased this for my 17yo son as a birthday present. He installed it in his first car, a 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S. A harness was provided in the box and we ordered a Nissan wiring harness to attach to the vehicle harness. After some minor wire stripping, wire splicing and removal of the Pioneer sleeve and ring, the kid had this up and running! We replaced the Nissan factory head unit, as it was faulty -- the left side speakers weren't working. After install, all factory Rockford Fosgate speakers were functioning properly and sounded great, even the factory subwoofer sounds fantastic! The harness and the face plate were included as part of this deal and everything fit as intended. Great set of instructions, easy install, a happy teen -- I couldn't have asked for anything more!

USB didn't work

I purchased this reciever because it's simple. I'm not interested in connecting my phone to it or anything else. I wanted CD and USB input. The CD worked well and sounded great, but the USB didn't work at all. I even called Poineer to verify the mp3 and USB format details. I also didn't like that the display lighting stayed on even when you turned it off. I can testify that the sales and tech staff of Crutchfield is outstanding. The best in the business. Better than the manufacturer. They upgraded my unit and I look forward to installing the upgrade.

A great sounding update,well designed.

A nice, basic set for those who want a classic look and ease of operation. Has all the features needed,intuitively placed, so that your attention is on the road where it belongs. The larger than normal remote is a welcome addition, allowing you to jump around on a CD, while keeping your eyes on traffic.
