Enhancing My 1986 Toyota 4x4 Pickup Sound System

1986 Toyota Pickup
My 1986 Toyota 4x4 pickup is limited to two 4" speakers in the dash. As expected, the speakers had minimal bass, leaving the sound somewhat lacking, but ok. Not much can be done with 4" speakers. I stumbled upon a garbage dumpster that had some heavy-duty paper tubing, the type that carpets are rolled onto, and thought I could use them with the speakers. I made two wooden caps for the tubes at 24" long and install the speakers inside the paper tube. Now installed behind my seat. The transformation was astounding. The speakers, now housed in the paper tube, produced an incredible sound, the equivalent of 6 1/6 speakers. The deep vocals and rich acoustics brought my vehicle's audio system to life. The makeshift speaker enclosure significantly enhanced the bass, creating a fuller and more satisfying listening experience. Keith, a Crutchfield customer service agent, played a crucial role in my positive experience. His dedication and support made the purchasing process smooth and enjoyable. Not only am I thrilled with how the speakers sound, but I also feel great about where they came from. Choosing Crutchfield for my audio needs was a decision I'm glad I made. The company's commitment to quality and outstanding customer service was evident throughout my interaction with Keith. I was willing to pay a bit more, knowing that I was supporting a business that truly values its customers.
Pros: Very efficient and sound great.
Cons: No bass, unless they are in an enclosure.

Big difference! The tweeter on these are crisp and clean and have a nice punch to them. 100% recommend.
