If you're serious about sound, your boat needs a set of high-output JL Audio M-Series marine speakers. Designed specifically for use in tower enclosures (or other small sealed enclosures), these top-shelf speakers are designed to blast through the rumble and roar of a high-performance marine engine. With big, bright 1" marine-grade tweeters made from pure silk, these sharp-looking 7.7" speakers sound phenomenal at any volume.
Everything about these speakers is built to survive on the water. JL Audio uses marine-grade stainless steel, synthetic fibers, and UV-resistant polymer baskets to protect their inner workings against humidity and salt. The white "Classic" grilles look terrific, of course, but they're also durable enough to keep rockin' through sun, spray, salt, and storms.
Bring on the weather
The super-stiff mica-injected polypropylene cones feature durable synthetic-rubber surrounds, while the tweeters are mounted directly to the grilles for optimal sound. A high-quality 2-way crossover sealed in a watertight capsule mounted to the woofer's frame sends the highs and lows where they're supposed to go – you'll hear all the details of your music, even when you're really moving across the water. Lightweight neodymium magnets deliver heavy sound, but won't mess with your boat's centre of gravity.
Note: These speakers must be mounted in enclosures. JL Audio designed the M770-CCX-CG-WH 7.7" marine speakers for free-air applications.

Features
Marine Tested: JL Audio's marine speakers go through ultraviolet testing chambers (to simulate years of sun exposure) and salt fog chambers (to simulate years of exposure to salt-water environments).
Woofers: The JL Audio M770-TCX speakers feature 7.7" woofers that provide 20% more sound radiating area than typical 6.5-inch designs. The woofers have injection-molded, mica-filled polypropylene cones with UV inhibitors, rubber surrounds, and precisely engineered dust cap profiles for smooth upper-end response. Each woofer uses a marine-grade synthetic fiber spider with a progressive roll design and a vented motor structure with a marine grade stainless steel rear diffuser plate.
Note: The M770-TCX speakers are specifically engineered for enclosed operation. This makes them ideal for wakeboard tower systems or other small enclosure applications.
DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis): DMA is JL Audio's proprietary method of improving dynamic motor behavior. The DMA-optimized long-excursion design enhances output, bass extension and power handling of the speaker.
Tweeters: Each M770 features a 1" silk dome tweeter with a specially formulated treatment to withstand UV and salt-spray exposure. The dome tweeter uses an oversized neodymium magnet for higher efficiency levels and is Ferrofluid-cooled and damped for improved response and power handling capabilities.
Crossover: The JL audio marine speakers utilize a true 2-way crossover network with 1st order low-pass and 2nd order high-pass circuits. The crossover network also features a polyswitch solid-state tweeter protection circuit. The crossover is mounted directly to the polymer woofer basket, requiring no additional mounting provision.
Polymer Basket And Grille: The UV-resistant polymer basket and grille protect the speakers' woofer, tweeter, crossover and motor structure from the marine environment.
Power Handling: JL Audio recommends two RMS power figures for this model; 100 watts continuous power handling and 40-175 recommended amplifier power. We've listed the more conservative 100 watts RMS in the specs table.
