These are probably normally a very good product, but one of the tweeters I received was manufactured improperly. The cone fell out of the grille even though it's supposed to be one piece. I would have returned them, but I already had both speakers glued into the custom cut housings. (The installation in my car is fairly difficult and technical). They sound good though, despite the defect.

Poor Customer Support

Speakers that were sent were not even compatible with my car. Then i have to pay $12 to ship them back? Called customer support and explained to them that it was their error, they didn't really care. Booooo, 1 star.

Not Exact Factory Replacement

These are advertised as a direct replacement speaker for my 2016 4Runner. These are tweeters only no midrange at all. I knew I messed up when I ordered them . There needs to be a better description saying they are not exact midrange replacements.

Installed in rear headliner of my Ram 1500. Sound great. Bought some back straps to mount (just have to bend & cut them to length). The wire adapters had to be cut & spliced to the tweeters because the JL's have female connectors on the ends.

Yes, you're paying for the name for a reason!

I had bought these along with 2 pairs of the C1-690x speakers for my upgrade from the stock Infinity system in my 2019 Grand Caravan GT...Look for that review as well as it ties into this review. These tweeters are super clean even on the stock system and I definitely cant wait to hear them after I install the 5500NEX. I took out 2 of the 3 3.5" speakers on the dash since there are 3 across the front and put these guys in the corner spots. For the center location, I will be purchasing a pair of the C2 350x speakers but will only be utilizing 1 of them since I'll only have one spot available left. Either that or maybe I'll have a custom spot made for the other. All in all, they sound great and I definitely recommend them to anyone whos looking for that JL quality.

JL is amazing in general but for entry-level tweeters, these are amazing. I'm currently running these off the oem stereo in my car (2013 Nissan Altima) and they brought all the highs in my audio to the next level. All of the vocals now sound crisp and every instrument sounds vibrant no matter the song or music genre. I can now listen to music without feeling like all the songs sound muffled by a blanket. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Great factory upgrade.

These are great factory replacement. They are also a great add-on to existing systems. I have bought 3 sets and they are in my wife's, son and my vehicle. I highly recommend these tweeters. They also come with a crossover that works well. At a price point I couldn't resist.

I bought the 6x9 2 way for my 14 silverado front door and 6 1/2 for my back doors. They significantly increased the bass in songs after they broke in about 2 days. Now I can turn my radio almost all the way up before distortion and feel like I want more. Wish I got the component so the dash tweeters were included because now I want more it sounds so good. Waiting for the stealth box for the rear subs to be back in stock. Very happy with this purchase. I love rock and metal and wife like rap and rb. And they sound better to me on everything

Keep the factory tweeters.

In my 2010 Camry, the supplied flat plastic brackets do not work. The opening under the speaker grill requires the bracket to be the same shape as the factory oval and must be slightly recessed. The opening for the speakers is 1 3/4" so a hole saw is needed. I had to fabricate custom brackets out of metal. These tweeters do not have a removable grill so the mounting bracket needs to drop down and angle to allow the dome on the tweeter to fit. I would ask Crutchfield to add a set of harness adapters to allow the factory connector with 4 pins to be used. There is no room to solder wires.

Great upgrade to VW CC

Just installed these in my 2107 VW CC. I kept the factory mid-bass woofer installed and added in a premium 12db two way crossover (2500hz crossover point). I of course ditched the basic inline crossover that comes with these tweeters though I think they would work for most people. The high sensitivity of these tweeters lets them play loud and that is perfect because in my case the factory mid-bass drivers are very sensitive in the VW CC as well, so I was in search of a tweeter that would match the level. The JL C1-100ct matched perfectly with the OEM mid-bass and they brilliance was increased without the harshness often heard by other tweeters. Percussion bells showed a pleasant response, while vocals sounded very natural. I believe this is the benefit of the larger 25mm dome size of this tweeter and one of the main reasons I selected the C1-100ct as well as its quality build. Most component speakers are typically crossed over about an octave higher in the 4000hz to 5000hz range and the inline crossovers provided with this unit are set a 4000hz. To unleash these tweeters and let perform at their full potential I recommend changing the crossover to one at the 2500hz to 3000hz range. Another benefit of installing a higher end passive crossover is that they often have level adjustments for the tweeter output usually 0 db (flat) -3db and - 6db. My particular crossover offers 5 levels of tweeter level output adjustment but 5 levels is quite rare to find out there.

Last thing to replace....tweeters! and IMHO I chose a great pair considering all my speakers are now JL Audio and I love the highs and clarity these added over my stock tweeters rounding out the system very nicely no matter if I'm jamming to Metallica or relaxing to James Taylor

One of the best there is...

Really nice smooth tweeters. It sounds more like a silk tweeter than a medal dome one, in that the sounds are smooth and not strident. JL Audio's entry line is better than some other manufacturer's top of the line. I am using them in the pillars of a 2016 MX-5, they are replacing a set of Bose hard dome tweeters. One of the best upgrades that can be done to increase the sound quality. I have not tried them with the top down. Our weather is not cooperating. I have never considered JL Audio before, my loss. Should have tried them years before.

Decent tweeters, a bit hot for my taste

Spoiler: this is not the right speaker choice for a 2008-2013 Toyota Highlander (with JBL). I bought these to replace the front dash speakers in my wife's 2008 Toyota Highlander. What I didn't know going in is the factory stereo has a crossover built in that sends only low frequencies to the 6x9s in the front doors. If I'd known that I would have bought an Infinity or Pioneer 6x9 component system so the tweeters and woofers would have been matched. That said, these JL Audio tweeters are OK. I much prefer the sound of their fabric dome tweeters (and have a pair in my car). These aluminum dome drivers are a little hot and sibilant to my ears. I think my wife likes them, though. Installation was pretty straight forward. Note that Crutchfield tells you an adapter is required and they don't supply one. When I removed the factory speaker from the dash, I cut the driver out of the basket and glued the JL Audio tweeter (with its surface-mount cup/ bracket) into the factory driver's basket. Instant adapter. I had to cut the slip-on connectors off the Metra harness supplied by Crutchfield and solder the bare ends to the input wires of the crossover supplied by JL Audio. Other than that, installation was straight forward and simple.

Jbl tweeters

Not so easy to install. I had to use the old factory plastic speaker frame. I just peeled off the mounting frame from the old paper speaker. After that, I just joined wires, used the metal brackets that Crutchfield sent with the speakers. Total time of installation- 1.3 hours. I took my time. The speaker really define the high notes. I'm glad I bought them.

These add on tweetersare crystal clear and are very easy to install. Had them hooked up and sounding great in less than 30 minutes. It helps if you have the hole saw to cut the hole if you are flush mounting them. Looks like factory install. Very clear sound. Have tried some other brands like the Rockford's and pioneers and these sound better to me. You won't be disappointed and the price is great as well.
