1985 Ford F Series
Does not come close to fitting my 85' F150. The main portion of the breaker doesn't fit in the truck without any of the clips, let alone the ones you're told to use.

1986 Ford F Series
As mentioned in the other reviews below, this does not work with my 1986 Ford F-150 without all sorts of modifications and you have to figure it out without any written instructions because the instructions to not cover the F150. I don't know if it works on the other seventh generation trucks, but exactly what the other reviews said; The radio faceplate is too wide to work with the factory radio/climate control faceplate on the truck. Plus, there are no correct instructions for the F-150. You have to use the same pieces that you would use for a bronco but not the tabs shown in the bronco illustrations. It also tells you to look on page 24 for the instructions but there are no instructions for the F150 on page 24. I would not buy this again.
Pros: Crutchfield tech-support is amazing and if you call them they will sit on the phone and try to work you through this. After I broke the wrong tabs off the first one (again, no correct instructions for this vehicle) they sent me a new one free of charge. After I figured out the steps to make it work I sent an email with pictures to the guy I talked to so hopefully in the future they'll have the info to walk people through this in the future.
Cons: It doesn't fit and it has no instructions on how to actually make it fit. I had to grind it down and spend forever figuring it out on myself. Oh, and even after all that the trim piece that covers the gap between the radio in the face plate doesn't snap into place!

this fit every car on the planet was junk. the diagrams were horrible, even after breaking off all the appropriate tabs I got the stereo mounted but the receiver cover panel woulnt go on without a lot of trimming. total junk and cheap

Dash trim panel will not fit over the kit face plate. I used the mounting brackets for the OEM radio, much easer

The instructions weren't very clear. The frame of the kit needed to be ground because it was too wide. The Ford bezel opening had to ground wider and taller to make the kit fit.
Pros: Lots of pieces to adapt to many different cars.
Cons: Doesn't fit a 1986 F250 very well.

What they don't tell you is that you have to modify your original eom dash to make the head unit fit. If I wanted to destroy the dash plate of my classic truck I could do it without the scosche receiver kit. Buyer beware.

Since this kit is designed to work on several different vehicles it should have come with better instructions on how to assemble it for your particular vehicle. After a lot of trial and error I finally got it assembled only to find that the dash plate on my 86 F150 would not fit over it. I had to machine about 1/16 to 1/8 in. off both sides of the face plate of the kit in order to get the F150 dash plate to fit over it.I've always had good luck with the kits I've received from Crutchfield but this one was a nightmare.

Cons: poor instructions and did not fit my vehicles dash with out modification by me.
