Fits and looks like it was there always.
Pros: Fits perfect.
Cons: Not a complaint, but no practical way to get behind and support receiver with hanging brackets or such. I just used a extra piece of plastic that came with it for other models and slid it between bottom of receiver and top of compartment below with a little glue on top and bottom. perfect fit and the support that was needed.

I used this kit on my 2006 Silverado 1500 regular cab pickup. The kit instructions comes with a rear support strap and a caution: "rear supporting the radio adds to the installation's structural integrity". However, the support strap cannot be used because there is no access to the rear of the radio. Since the dash kit is not strong enough to be supported by the front panel screws alone, I had to create my own support. I did not, however, have to cut out the rear support bracket in the dash opening as stated in the installation instructions.

Product itself is great, the instructions how ever leave much to be desired. I had to use one of the spacers taped in place to hold up my receiver as there was no way to get use tools inside. I also had to figure out how to get the new radio set properly so it wouldn't move around. For this there is a changeable trim piece those goes around the faceplate of the your radio. Dealing with this dash kit took the longest in my swap.
Pros: Awsome kit once I got it figured out.
Cons: Instructions were useless to me, each kit is different no matter how much alike every radio swap is.

INstallation was straightforward.I simply had to attach the kit to the dash opening with 3 screws, insert the radio, the secure the radio with the trim unit. After I got the dash off and the old radio removed, Installing the kit, the harness, and the head unit took all of 5-10 minutes.

This kit definitely fit both the stereo I purchased and my truck. It is sturdy enough and looks nice. The only issue I had it the instructions. They were 0/10 helpful. It said "secure stereo to mount" and no additional diagrams or information on how to do that. I thought I was missing parts or something because it was not intuitive how I was supposed to secure it. Eventually, I determined it wasn't that loose in the dash cavity so I used a little duct tape around the sides and called it a day. The dash cover hid the duct tape so no one will ever know...
Pros: nice look, good fit, nice storage space, easy install
Cons: no idea how I was suppose to secure the stereo into this mount

This mount came with very vague instructions, and had no mechanism to secure the receiver. It came with 2 spacers (not needed for my car model) and one other plastic 'mounting' piece, which could not be attached to the mount, or the car. The receiver is loose inside the dash, so I will have to create a way to make it stable. By far the worst mount I have ever used.
Pros: Stereo slides in it and it lines up with the holes in the dash...that's it.
Cons: Vague instructions. No way to adequately secure the stereo to the mount.

The holes were off so I had to cut the out side of the holes so I could center it in my dash. I just added washers so it held good. The pocket wasn't glued straight but you can't see it when it's installed so it doesn't matter.

2016 Ford F-150 XLT
This did fit the dash and included the correct bezel to make it look nice. The radio we used was so shallow that the included rear stiffener would not have worked at all. However, the radio was also very light so we simply glued a piece of 1/4 inch thick foam to the top of the storage box to keep the radio from bouncing. No rear stiffener bracket was needed. Assembly instructions were not clear on assembly to the radio but we figured it out.

Fits perfectly into my dash and looks really good. The only improvement would be to add a description with the part identification. This was the first time that I installed a stereo dash kit by myself and it was extremely vague and I had to do research on how to fasten the stereo to the bracket. I installed this into a 2007 chevy colorado LT and it fits perfectly.

Cons: instructions included are only for taking dash out (you can figure it out for yourself) but not how to properly secure the stereo in the bracket.

Flimsy and does not hold the radio as securely as it could or should. Directions show rear brackets and there are none. Has what looks like the factory guide pin but no way of attaching it or any explanation in the directions as to how or what it is. The only thing holding the radio is the sleeve .

Did the job, there is a bit of a sag in the shelf so that there's a gap in the center between the to of the shelf an the bottom of the head unit surround (if you look close you can actually see it in the picture) Also the shelf is so thin it's not good for a whole lot.

I'm not sure why it says it is for GMC yukon 2005. Definitely not. The holes do not align and there is nothing in the package to fix it. I had to modify it to get it installed. Once done It looks ok no gaps

The product was perfect and easy to install. I also purchased the wiring harness as I had purchased a Kenwood radio from Crutchfield 3 years ago and was transferring it to my new vehicle. Everything was super easy and I'm a crutchfield customer for life!

Does what it's supposed to, however it's very flimsy in spots, and the directions don't actually tell you how to install your receiver into the dash kit! The directions only tell you how to remove panels on your dash to get to the existing receiver. I installed it successfully after tracking down a video by Scosche installing a different dash kit.
Pros: Does what it's supposed to.
Cons: Subpar construction. No install directions.

Obviously a lot of people are happy with this dash kit. I found it to be of very poor quality and a very poor fit for this particular vehicle -- a 2007 Chevy Express. Significant modification was necessary to get a secure fit of the receiver and to provide rear support, which was critical because of the flimsy plastic used -- the weight of the receiver flexes the plastic. Overall I found this to by far the worst dash kit of any I've used - 7 other installations so far.

1995 Buick Roadmaster
I used this to install a Kenwood single DIN unit in my 1995 Buick Roadmaster. The kit fit well, and was simple to use. The only improvements I suggest for the bracket are more options to help hold the radio sleeve. I had to get a little creative with the sleeve tabs to make sure it was firmly attached to the bracket. That is the only reason this is a 4 star review and not 5. I would definitely purchase it again.
Pros: Bolted up perfectly, fit the dash well
Cons: Needs a different lip or areas for the sleeve tabs to catch

Loses a star because it doesn't fit my 2003 Blazer perfectly. The directions say to use the spacers included but that made it stick out too far. The stereo I put in is too wide to use the trim piece that covers the front but fits great in the body of the adapter. This causes a gap between the stereo and the dash piece however. Doesn't look too bad but definitely not a professional look.

easy to install, looks good with new radio. What I liked most about this dash kit is that the new radio looks and fits perfectly! On other dash kits, the radio seems to stick out of the dash really far, this one fits like factory, flush with the dashboard.

This dash kit was perfect. Initially, I was under the understanding that I was going to have to modify my dash to fit this kit but that wasn't the case at all. It mated perfectly and seated right where it needed to be with the factory screws. The pocket is nice and deep to fit my long phone. It is even mounted pretty solidly without any additional support.

Great fit, but a little flimsy in my S10 Blazer. With the detachable face plate on my Pioneer radio/CD player, the bottom lip of the DIN sleeve is exposed using the provided bezel. It also won't allow the detachable face plate to fold down all the way. I'll be swaping it out to see how things look with the radio's bezel.

Poor Quality Dash Kit

This dash kit either arrived broken, or it became broken on my work bench, awaiting installation. Maybe it broke removing it from the package, I don't know which, so I didn't ask to return. While waiting for the glue to dry, I went to a local shop and bought a different brand that was MUCH better quality - probably twice the thickness of plastic where it matters (where it broke). If you own a GM truck, avoid this dash kit. I doubt it would have held up installed in the dash!

2006 GMC Canyon
Arrived broken and I wasn't surprised after looking at the build quality. This is a very flimsy unit. To Crutchfield's credit they refunded my purchase price on this due to shipping damage without question, so they get an A+ for support while this product gets an F for quality. I ended up picking up another Scosche universal GM kit locally which was built much better. However, that one but also required significant removal of extra plastic tabs so it would fit my vehicle and the receiver is screwed in rather than using the metal crimp bracket. It was time consuming but the resulting dash kit is much more secure and substantial than this 1538B kit.

Four stars because it worked well and looks good in the 2012 Chevy Colorado, but included directions to install it were pretty awful. This part came with directions on how to remove my old radio (already covered by Crutchfield), but no instructions on how to install this into my vehicle. Not great for a novice, and I eventually just went ahead and figured if it didn't work out I'd modify it later. It did fit well, but I didn't have any of the rear support brackets that were supposed to be included. I had to make sure the included sleeve that came with my receiver was VERY TIGHT to this dash kit so the radio didn't vibrate from the rear.

In the instruction manual, under "Assembling the kit", you simply list "various rear support straps" to secure the head unit to the mounting panel. Am I the only one who did not get these supporting brackets? And even if I had them, these directions show me nothing about where to put them. Is the radio going to be secure enough without them?

Couldn't find a kit locally that would work, So I knew Crutchfield would have it... I ordered a few things I wanted and this kit and bam! It fits perfect with no assembly needed!!! Unlike the the cheap junk kits from you local parts store.. I'd like to thank Cosmo at Crutchfield for helping me get ordered what I needed....

Looks good ,adds storage , I did have to make spacers to replace the scosche supplied spacers which were too thick and prevented a flush fit of the radio bezel to dash kit and the dash. Not using the scosche supplied spacers allowed the bezel to fit flush to the dash yet left a gap between dash kit and the bezel . These two gaps were easily fixed by making my own spacers using 3/32 flat aluminum stock. That took about ten minutes. The install was in 2008 GMC Canyon. This kit may fit better in other gm vehicles. Other than that minor issue its sturdy and looks nice.
