A necessary addition, imo
Crutchfield customer from Yucca Valley, CA on 11/20/2021
I bought this remote to complete my install of the LCQ-1. I felt it was a necessary addition to give me the control over my subwoofer as I listen to a lot of different types of music, some with a lot more bass than others. It functions very well and performs as I expected it to. I've initially mounted it with some double stick tape until I make the decision as to where it will ultimately reside. It does allow for seemless mounting wherever it is safe to drill a couple of holes and I plan to mount it that way to give it that factory look. I especially like to eq shutoff feature which allows me to compare the difference that the LCQ-1 makes with my setup.
Pros: Sleek design, easy install
Cons: The led light is very bright and considerations should be made for nighttime driving so that it is not shining directly in your face.

So I bought this, but the Soundstream amp I purchased already had one that came with it. The funny thing is, the stereo shop that did my install uses and sells this exact model. So instead of me returning it to crutchfield for a refund, they took it and knocked $35 off the price of my system install. So I can only assume with them selling it as well as crutchfield, it must be a pretty good product.
Pros: Seems to be a desired product.
Cons: None at this time.

Easy to use. Plug and play. Works perfect. I bought this to connect to the lcq1 to control my sub when i have my kids in the car it turns the sub completely off and when im riding alone or with friends its cracked back up with a easy spin to the right and boom boom boom. Before i would open the trunk then disconnect the rcas and when the kids are in the car and plug the rcas back in after it was a hassle beyond satisfied with this product thanks crunchfield
Pros: Great product
Cons: Nothing

Works exactly as specified which is pretty cool but the LED is so freaking bright! Additionally, the LED blinks, and its not a rhythmic blinking but a completely erratic blinking that is very distracting especially at night. I ended up disconnecting the LED completely. As for the mounting, I ended up mounting it in the same box as my amp's external control but for those without an existing place to mount, this may be a distraction.
Pros: It works well
Cons: LED

Nice addition
Tony from South Florida on 3/27/2013
What I thought would be a more or less semi-useless gadget turned out to be a nice addition. Smooth, continuous control of the sub output, with the A/B feature, both on the same control. Extremely easy to install (plug & play), too. My only gripe - the mounting bracket is a simple bent piece of aluminum, with the "guts" of the unit exposed on the sides, bottom & back. I'd have expected a fully enclosed housing, but this is a minor issue, and can be easily rectified with an aftermarket box.
Pros: Extremely simple hookup, and convenient to use. Smooth functionality.
Cons: The LED is a little too bright, even in daylight (way too bright at night). And the aforementioned bracket that should be enclosed.
