Perfect Amp for a small space
Silverio from Brewster, NY on 5/2/2025
Great little amp.provides plenty of power to drive my 3 way Hertz components up front, 2 ways Hertz in the rear doors and 2 10" Hertz subs. Tons of tuning flexibility too!
Pros: Ample power, Small Size, Tuning Flexibility
Cons: They aren't cheap but worth every penny

Very solid, serious amp. Apparently 1300 watts RMS is about 200 more than my skull can handle in a regular cab pickup. Amazingly clean output, and plenty of it.

AudioControl LC-5.1300
Gary from Tamarac, FL on 4/21/2024
I have been in car audio since the 90's and I always liked the Soundstream Reference Series Amps. A few years back I installed a Soundstream Rubicon Nano 5 channel amp in my 03 Trailblazer. I have an Alpine Head Unit, Boston Acoustics SL65's, and a Kicker Solo-Baric 12. A month ago, I noticed that my front right channel was not working. I checked all the connections. I decided to start searching for another brand. I noticed the AudioControl LC-501300 on Crutchfields website. I liked the spec's and decided to buy it. I installed the Amp two weeks ago and I am extremely impressed. I noticed that added power and my systems sounds 100% better now. The clarity of the sound is awesome and the Amp drives my speakers with no issues. Thanks to Crutchfields Advisor Chase for explaining the features of the Amp and letting me know that I will definitely notice a major difference in the sound my system put out. I am a big fan of AudioControl now and recommend this Amp.

So much control with this unit... absolutely quiet... Like cant even hear a mouse fart in church (to quote my fav youtube audio reviewer) ! If you plan to add DSP like I eventually did, you can save some money and go for the D model without all the capabilities. The unit itself is SOLID , AC builds amazing products and it SLAPS! Clean good power
Pros: Build quality, ease of configuration, Summing

Great amp

Compact amp, compared to my Zuki Audio Eleets 5 channel amp, class AB output, similar output power. While I haven't hooked it up in my car, I did hook it up from my 70 amp power supply, Alpine head unit, Audio Control HPX Pre amp/line driver. I hooked it up to a pair of Audio Dynamic Coaxials and AD Subwoofer. Very powerful, clean sounding amp, beyond flexible for the possible configurations. Once the weather here in Kansas comes down from 100+ degrees on a daily basis, I can take the time needed to swap out the amps. I will then be able to properly evaluate how it sounds in my 2015 Toyota RAV 4. From my initial impressions, on the test bench, it is a very good amp, and Crutchfield will NOT be getting this one back, it's a keeper. Compared to my other Class D amps, Audio Dynamics 300.4 and 600.1, the Audio Control is a much better sounding amp, well built.
Pros: Great sounding, flexible amp for configuing
Cons: None at this time

Install of the amp is so simple you don't need any test equipment it's already built into it with lights that are pretty accurate although it says I shouldn't turn my stereo up past 22 I have a stinger in my Jeep JL. I'm also mounting this amp underneath my driver's seat of my Jeep JL with a JL audio amp rack. What I had to do to make it work was Center the amp on the rack push it all the way to the back of the bend you'll notice that the screw holes in the back give you just enough to put a tiny screw in there so I drilled those out put in two tiny screws and in the front instead of screwing it down I use a double-sided tape it's working perfect. It actually keeps the ventilation vent up above the amp itself when you mount it correctly like this because of the carpet and how far it goes forward a lot better than my old Kenwood 802 which I upgraded from. I have Hertz components in the bar and in my dash area the MP 165.3's. I have the amp crossovers on the front and rear channels set to 70hz the subs set to 100hz I have two JL audio stealth boxes in the back of my Jeep. On my stinger head unit I have the crossover set to 100 hz on the subs and 80hz on the front and rear components. Audio is crisp and clean and even with the top and the doors off my Jeep bumps all music sounds excellent! Amp has lots of options for a more advanced installation. Highly recommended Crutchfield was great as always.
Pros: Installation,sound plethera of options.
Cons: None

Patrick from Cadott, WI on 2/13/2022
Great power to run a complete system. Of 12 inch sub, rear 6x9, & front 6 3/4 components. Sounds great with factory radio. Can't wait to get the new deck installed to have equipment tailoring.
Pros: Clean power, simple setup with options. Flexibility on connections.
Cons: The factory plug type connectors are poor & had connection problems. I used female spade terminal direct to pins & no issues.

If you need an amplifier for the REST OF YOUR LIFE this is one of your few choices.... this amplifier runs your entire car regardless if you have stock or aftermarket radio it will work for you. I have used this amplifier in countless applications even on cars that needed to be summed. It's rock solid and as long you keep it dry you can use on anything from two wheels to boats.... Don't let the power rating fool you it's a very powerful amplifier and it sounds every bit the part as good as a really great A/B amplifier which I CAN NOT say for 90% of the car audio products out there especially when the voltage drops. This is a bad amplifier that will never let you down and will always get the job done.
Pros: **Great value **Does everything you can ask **super flexible **incredible build quality **will outlast the car
Cons: **Audiocontrol well known but sometimes doesn't get the respect it has earned from these young folks.

Issues
Ronald from League City, TX on 8/14/2021
2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Issue within 2 hours of tuning/install. Initially everything was good, level set, gain(s) set [ch5 = 27.5v (380w @ 2ohm)]. Started and completed rough first round tuning. Listened for a while, maybe an hour, and decided to leave tune alone and just listen for a few days as I was going back to work for a set. 30 minutes into drive to work the next morning system cut out and came back, odd but I figured would address when I got off work. Volume lowered and consistently amp is going into protection mode (Ch 5 clipping) at half of set output used to set gains [which was below clipping point]. Not sure if this is an issue with first batch of amps being I purchased mine as soon as they came out. Hopefully AudioControl can help me resolve issue. I will update review as events unfold.
