I have a single cab truck, so my subwoofer in the box goes behind the seat. I was worried about the subwoofer rubbing on the back of the seat. Which would lead to an eventual hole in the surround, which would then lead to probably horrible sound. I don't know, but what I do know is a hole in your subwoofer's surround isn't good. I took the decorative sticker coverings over the speaker holes, unscrewed the screws, and the grille will sit flush with the face of the subwoofer. Put everything back together and now the subwoofer is protected. I believe these are cast aluminum which is a definite plus for added strength. You could also prep and paint them. With my bench seat pushed all the way back it comes in contact with subwoofer. Adding this grille Has created a little bit of space for the subwoofer to do its thing and give me peace of mind. If your subwoofer is in your trunk or in another place that is open, this grill would be a good addition to help keep your investment protected.

Heavy duty grill

Solid metal, heavy duty speaker grill.

Pros: Extremely well made.

Cons: Lost a star due to coming without screws. You have to buy your own. Slightly inconvenient. Should come with everything you need.

Superior Protection

I have two 10" L7 speakers tucked away under the back seat of my SVT Raptor. The speaker box was made for it but when back passengers sit the seat does push down a little. I didn't want to take the chance of damaging my speaker during use. The grills are super thick and sting. My worries are no more.

Pros: Super strong construction.

Cons: Maybe a little to open for some applications.

This is a five star grill. But I only gave it four stars because it failed and instructions on how to mount it. In my case I was putting it into a loaded enclosure and it wasn't very clear obvious how to access the screws without damaging the subwoofer. Fortunately I found a YouTube video that showed how to do it.

Pros: Strong and heavy duty built

Cons: Doesn't include instructions. In particular related to their loaded closures with hidden fasteners.

Great construction All Metal grill.

Pros: Very strong all metal grill. Wise choice for added speaker protection.
