Decent quality for budget speakers

Definitely an upgrade from stock speakers, but don't expect to be blown away by the sound quality for speakers in this price range. Especially if you're just using an aftermarket head unit without any sort of factory or aftermarket amplifier. Overall quality I would rate as "Good", and of course the plug and play speaker connector adapter from Crutchfield makes installation a breeze.

Good speakers for my Taurus

I put a set of these in my front doors, and in the rear of my wagon. I'm happy enough with the sound quality and output performance for my stock amp! These things have some bump to them. I'm no audiophile, but I think they're worth the price for what you're getting.

Meh.

Was expecting a kicker to have some bass. Installed as replacements to my rear deck speakers on 14 GT. They at least work, can't say that about my stock speakers, but they have NO bass. They really are sad.

Great all around speaker

Will start this by saying the speakers in my Mazda3 were OEM. Yes, they were shot. These speakers sound great, will say they sound as good as the Bose system in my Tahoe. After market head unit from Crutchfield as well. Install was easy, all 4 within a hour. Speaker wire adapters were a huge plus. These were mounted in rear door and fit perfectly, Being in my 50s I still enjoy music...sometimes to loud for wife, but am happy with purchase.

Ford Flex upgrade

Installed in a 2017 Ford Flex with base 6 speaker audio. The difference from stock was night and day. These hit harder, reach lower, and bring out the highs and mids that were muddled together with the stock speakers. The addition of the center mounted tweeter made a massive difference to the rear doors as the stock ones had no tweeter. The only real downside was the stock front speakers had an additional plug and a little board to run the warning chimes through them. That feature won't work but the cluster still plays the chimes.

Old school, my go to trusted name

2012 f150 platinum custome truck leveled and lifted with 33/12/50 20 s Good sound old school name I've always used and trusted, great price. ?? % better that OEM junk. Get the stinger road kills and be careful installing. Makes a difference I assure you.

Huge improvement over 2008 F150 stock

I have a aftermarket head unit, amp and sub on my 2008 F150 XL and while it sounded great at the beginning I wanted more clarity on my mids and highs. I added these on all four doors and the difference was amazing. They are not even amplified at the moment but they don't really need it in my opinion. I can safely turn the volume all the way up without worrying about blowing them or hearing distortion. We all know kids and spouses love to turn the knob and not have to worry about blowing stuff up. lol My current setup is as follows: -Cheap Chinese Car Radio with Apple Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto -Rockford Fosgate R2-500x1 amp -A single JL Audio 10W1V3 -Four Kicker 46CSC684 6x8 for mids and highs What next: (maybe) -Rockford Fosgate R2-500x4 amp I say maybe because I am very happy with the way it sounds now. It is incredibly loud and clear inside and starting to get too loud outside which is not my goal. All I wanted Initially was loud and clear sound at highway speeds and Ive exceeded my needs already. Anything more is for pure addiction to good sound.

These Kicker speakers made little difference from the OEMs with my new Sony 4200 receiver. Not sure why Crutchfield recommended these and Sony coaxials. I was not impressed and returned them both. With my own research and the help of an awesome installer, I purchased JBL Stadium component speakers. What a difference !!! So it was not the Sony receiver at all, it was the Sony and Kicker speakers that were the problem. A waste of money if you purchased them. Component speakers are the way to go. JBL rocks !! Also Crutchfield's vehicle specification were incorrect too with respect to what would fit in the rear of my vehicle. I don't recommend Crutchfield either. They tell you want you want to hear for the sale. Do your own research and talk to as many experts as you can. Best of Luck

Dennis, we're sorry that the Kicker speakers you purchased didn't work out for you. We are glad you were able to take advantage of our 60-day return policy and get them back to us for a refund. We're also in total agreement with you about component speakers sounding superior due to better imaging. They're just a little more difficult to install for some folks doing the work themselves and not relying on an installer. We also agree that customers thinking about upgrading their vehicle's sound system should do as much research as possible. It definitely prepares you for a better experience. We can't comment on the vehicle specifications you deem incorrect, since we don't have enough information to go on.

Perfect Upgrade!

These speakers in a 6x8 for my Ford Focus was a perfect upgrade. I also have an aftermarket JVC stereo installed. These speakers replaced my factory door speakers and fit perfectly. The sound clarity and bass are great for the price point. Definitely would recommend and they also work great with a factory stereo too.

5.5" x 7.5" are their dimensions, not what is advertised, 6x8. Sure, drill a hole; that would solve it. Spending money on a drill, hmm. If I'd had gone with another speaker brand, see! No problem. Will let the audio techs take a look, see what they say.

Good deal

2007 F150 Big improvement over stock worn speakers. Mid and highs get some distortion at near max volume from BOSS BE7ACP. Not much deep bass, but that's to be expected from a 6x8 especially in this price range. Overall very happy first reactions.

THUMPING BASE!!!

Awesome sound deep base and crisp highs - paired two sets of these with a 46CXA360.4T Amp that really provides just the right amount of power - added a Kicker HSS8 to finish the system off connecting all to my factory head unit - this system sounds awesome with really solid base and crisp highs at the highest volume. My F150 is THUMPING!!!

Work fine with caveats

Not overly impressed with these speakers. I haven't decided whether they even sound better than the stock ones. The cones are definitely smaller than the OEM and the voice coil is the same size, although the magnet is very slightly larger. The main benefit is that they handle 75 Watts versus 25 for the OEM, giving me more leeway for upgrading the head unit and amp(s). Definitely NOT a "direct fit" in my 2004 Grand Marquis front doors. Required a run to ACE hardware for some nylon spacers because the OEM speakers have a plastic grill glued to the front and the mounting thickness is 1/4". There is a 1/4" thick plastic mounting adapter and the OEM screws screw into that, not into the door metal, and there are no holes in the metal. These speakers have a plastic spacer around the top of the frame, but it avoids the tabs around the mounting holes and means the mounting thickness there is only about 1/32", the thickness of the metal speaker frame. The screws that came with these speakers are even longer than the OEM ones, and have different threads so I didn't want to use them anyway. The OEM screws came out the back of the plastic adapter, pushing against the solid door metal and forced it away from the door metal, warping it and causing gaps between both the spacer and the door and the speaker and the spacer. NOT GOOD! And no, I do NOT want to drill new holes in the car. Adding the spacers to the top of the speaker tabs solved the problem perfectly. Also, no gaskets

Horrible will not last

I bought 2 sets of speakers for my 2012 f150 and about a month or so into owning them the at least one of the speakers would cut in and out and almost constantly sound like they were blown. Called Crutchfield to get a new set sent out which they did and Crutchfield was very good but after about a month or so of having the new ones it started to happen again to the brand new speakers. Do not buy these save a bit more money and buy a better set and a better bran.

Don't hesitate, their good.

Compared to 4 blown out speakers, major upgrade. If you're looking for $1000 sound out of these, you're going to be sad. However, I'm speaking from a 50+yr old perspective. They make a clean sound, handles bass nicely, I'm not thumping my windows loose nor do I want to. I've been enjoying classical music lately and you definitely can hear the different instruments. Major update from stock. The connectors from Crutchfield were super easy to factory. Even came with wires in case factory connecters was snipped. Absolutely would recommend these to anyone.

Compared to the factory speakers, these sound amazing. Sound is much cleaner. With the top down, I don't have to turn the volume up as high to hear the vocals. But if I do turn it up, these speakers really put out the sound.

Better than I thought "cheap" could ever be

I just wanted to replace the 15 year old speakers in my 09 Ranger. One was buzzing and driving me nuts. I bought these on sale for $72 for each set to replace my 4 speakers. I'm pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality of the speakers and the quality of the sound. Even with the stock stereo they sounded good. Once I installed the Stereo I bought with more power and better adjustments they really came alive. Definitely more bass sound quality, the midrange and higher resolution is slightly lacking, harder to tune, but still very good for the price. That may be because of the vehicle itself, a small 4 door pickup. Definitely more bang for the buck than I expected. You could probably spend more money for better, but on a budget I don't think you can beat the sound quality. Just need to add that in the 80's I was buying Pioneer, Kenwood, or other 6x9 speakers for around the same price.

Easy install on a stock system

Very easy install, manual that came with the speakers make taking the panel off a breeze. The adapter you can connect was a tight fit and almost bent the negative but everything was gucci. All in all another great crutchfield purchase. This was all done on the standard 6 speaker non-sony w/sync

Wicked Speakers

These are a night and day difference that the OEM in my 2001 Explorer. Got 2 12s that I been had hooked up. And these speaker opens up the sound so much. The only way I can explain it is the sound just sounds free and unconfined. Just go ahead and buy them!

A tad better than stock speakers

These are decent speakers for the low price point. I just needed some replacements for a 2 door work truck. If my stock F150 speakers were a 5 out of 10, these are a 6 out of 10. No bass response what-so-over and they are paired with a new receiver. Small magnet. I got what I thought I was buying though so its fine.

Good Sound but Light on Bass

Had these professionally installed in the rear of a 2013 Mustang that had a bare bones factory sound system. Factory speakers sounded horrible, especially when turning up the volume so I rarely did that. I had these babies put in. These are much better than the factory speakers, with good all around sound, but they are a little lighter in the bass response than I thought they would be. Make sure you add around a 75-watt RMS amplifier to these.

These were an easy direct replacement of my factory 1999 F350 Crew Cab speakers. Excellent sound and didn't know what I was missing. I highly recommend these speakers. I really appreciated the ease of installation made much easier from Crutchfield's detailed and clear instructions. Had only one hang up in that my truck (of course) utilized the same wiring harness for both front and rear speakers, not the differing set I was sent. Crutchfield's excellent customer service sent me the proper set with free 2 day shipping. Great people to work with, very helpful.

Very happy. Installed these in the doors and rear deck of my sons 2014 Mustang. Installation was a breeze thanks to Crutchfield included Master Sheet, the free adapters made not worrying about positive and negatives a snap, and the sound quality was great. Just ordered a new aftermarket receiver from Crutchfield to go with these.

These were a huge upgrade over the stock speakers in my 2014 Mustang. Most of the improvements were in the midrange being more crisp and a bit harder kick with the bass.

Look and sound good. Easy to install. Only complaint was the Kicker packaging. It looked damaged on the outside box with holes through the cardboard and one corner pushed in like it had been dropped or squeezed. Luckily, the speakers were unharmed inside.

Way way way better than the original speakers. I only got a single 250w 12" sub because I thought dual 12's would drown out the speakers but clearly I was wrong. These would shine with a dual 12" sub setup
