At first I thought these were terrible. I had them paired with an Alpine head unit that only put out 22 watts per channel. I upgraded the head unit with a piggyback amplifier and holy cow these sound good. Definitely recommend but only if you have enough power to drive them.

Great sound, best suited for amplification

As I have upgraded all the speakers in my 2022 Highlander from DS series to the KS series and I can tell you they are night and day. These sound great as I am pushing them with 80watts each. So here is my take, DS for factory radio, CS for mini amp, and KS for any amp pushing over 65watts per channel.

Kicker 6x9s Perfect for Tundra

Big upgrade over factory paper dual come speakers. Full, smooth sound, with more volume, even with the factory radio and not changing anything else. These big 6x9s even include a 1/4-inch spacer ring so they fit my 2010 Toyota Tundra perfectly, despite Crutchfield's online guide saying they wouldn't. And Crutchfield supplied Toyota speaker wire harness plug adapters which made it an easy install. VERY happy with these speakers!

Super easy install with the harness Crutchfield gives you. Hardest part is getting the door panel off which on a Tacoma really wasn't that bad, plenty of how to videos out there. Speakers sound awesome very nice upgrade good bass.

Kickers in '19 Subaru Crosstrek

These 6x9 front door speakers were the same size as the OEM speakers. However, the Kickers sound much better! I'm using the stock radio in the Crosstrek Premium and it sounds very good. I also purchased rear door and front dash speakers. Instructions were too basic, they didn't mention the thin spacer that was included, so I didn't use it.

Kicker KS in 2018 Toyota Sienna

I am comparing these to the Polk MM692 speakers. Currently i have a set of Polk MM692s in my Sienna front doors getting 150 watts RMS each from an NVX amp with a Sony XAV-81000 head unit. Although i have a 12" sub in the rear, i wanted deeper bass in the front doors. I have the Kicker KS 3.5s" in the dash attenuated with a -9DB L-Pad network running off the Sony Head Unit and the NVX crossed over at 300-500 HZ to bring the sound stage up. The doors are fully Killmat, but the van is still very bad with wind and road noise. I purchased the Kickers on sale for $127 and figured i didn't need the 3-ways as i am just going for deeper bass, I have always loved the Polks (I have the 6.5" MM components in my Civic-awesome), but just could not figure out the lack of deep bass in the front doors - even after i fixed the right door which was out of phase. Kickers are known for their bass, and also handle 150W RMS. First i called Crutchfield because the Kicker KS come with a much beefier ring vs the Metra. They said use Metra and were correct. i tried the KS ring with the extra edge cut off and the holes did not match up. As far as bass and power handling - they sounded exactly the same as the Polks no more bass, no less with the amp crossed over at 300-500hz. With the amp set full range, the Polks blow them away hands down in mids as expected. But the tweeter on the Kicker is very nice, crisp and clear. So the 3-way KS are probably a less $ speaker comparable to the Polks.

Crystal clean sound

These things rock. I installed them in my 2008 Toyota Tacoma front doors. They basically drop right in, with a little convincing. They sound clear as day, no distorted bass. I installed a Boss BV765B that I also bought from crutchfield, some say you need an amp to drive these, they sound perfect without one. The difference between even the magnets vs. factory is staggering. Will be buying kickers for my access cab doors as well!

These speakers are amazing compared to the stock speakers. The sound is much crisper and clearer and the low end response is considerable better than expected. I added an amp after a week or two based on some of the reviews and they definitely made the speakers come alive. Installation was a snap with the directions and harnesses that were provided. This helps to make driving my minivan more tolerable.

Installed the speakers in my 2016 F150 with stock head unit. Huge improvement from the stock speakers. Bass sounds pretty good despite not having an amplifier. I also replaced the the rear speakers with 6-3/4 kickers. Combined the audio is super crisp and clean.

Great Upgrade from Factory, Needs Amplifier for Best Results

Easy to install, impressive sound, especially when given some additional amplification. Installed these to replace my stock speakers in my Toyota Highlander (replaced all 6 speakers, factory non premium system) with the Kicker KSC series. These went in my front doors. I started by replacing my speakers with my factory radio. These were already an upgrade, but were softer than my stock speakers without additional amplification. The next day I added sound treatment to the doors using SoundSkins Pro for b both the door panels and also using their speaker kit to create a seal between the speaker and the door. That made them even better. Later that week I installed the Alpine KTP-445U amplifier (45 watts RMS x 4 channels) to give my factory head unit some additional juice, which really made these come alive. Bass output is impressive, mids and highs are clear and tight. Still breaking them in, but I highly recommend these as an affordable upgrade to a factory system, but do believe that additional amplification is necessary to drive them and I also recommend sound deadening- I was blown away at how much that improved the response and output of these speakers. Crutchfield made it easy to install, although I did have to modify the brackets that were sent in order to get the mounting holes lined up (removed some tabs, drilled new holes in the bracket for two screw locations, easy to do with a razor blade and a drill). I definitely recommend these!

These made a big difference in clarity in my 2022 Tacoma non-JBL 8" radio. I changed the front speakers with these as well as the tweeters with the Subaru/Kicked plug and playand they sound great to me. I had to play with the sound levels to my liking. I will get the 6.75 Coax for the back soon. I do not expect a big improvement from the rear speakers because he stock radio is under powered. Im just hoping for some sort of improvement.

Get an amp

You're going to want an amp for these if you're doing all 4 doors or expected a bit more automagical bass. Note: No direct stock replacement is going to blow your mind or bang hard without one an amp. Short of that they will sound better at higher volumes vs. stock speakers. Rated this a 4 as I always seem to have an issue with Kicker speakers arriving randomly defective.

Put them in and its definitely a great improvement over the factory speakers, without an amp, also put in some 3 1/2" 2 ways on the front dash. What I am more impressed with is the included plug and play speaker harness, and adapter rings that were included with the speakers, it made the installation so much easier.

Great Upgrade

Ordered these along with Kicker 47KSC6704's, Kicker 46CSC354's, and Rockford Fosgate R1T-S's to replace the factory base (not Sony) sound system on a 2017 F-150. I also purchased and added multiple layers of sound insulation on the door panels. The included Master Sheet was helpful. It is important to note that is all I did. No aftermarket amplifier or subwoofer. The sound is a noticeable improvement. Very clean lows, mids, and highs. Of course, with the improved sound there is now more to be desired on the low end. These speakers beg for more power. It is also important to note that I am NOT an audiophile. I just wanted a quick and easy improvement and did everything myself. I had limited time to install so insulation application is not perfect by any means but still works well. I ran into a few hiccups related to the mounting brackets and hardware, but between included Kicker hardware and the free hardware Crutchfield sent over I was able to figure everything out. Overall, I'm impressed with Crutchfield, Kicker, and Rockford Fosgate. Thanks Crutchfield!

These speakers are awesome. I paired them with a Kicker Key200.4 - just enough. Crystal clear. No distortion. People amaze me, they complain about everything. If you don't put a thousand watts through them, they're great speakers. DON'T OVERDRIVE THEM! If you want a good, dependable MIDRANGE speaker for daily use, buy these.

Ordered these along with the 6-3/4 Kicker 47KSC6704 for my 2020 Silverado as an "upgrade" since I felt like my factory speakers were distorting at anything past half volume. The Crutchfield expert I spoke with was VERY helpful since I explained that I did not plan on adding an amp at this time, so we agreed that I did not need the highest-end set of speakers. By the time I went to cash out I felt confident with a brand like Kicker that I could still expect a good, upgraded sound. I received all the proper installation adapters, harness etc. to ensure a proper install. I installed these speakers about a week ago so I have given them about a week break in time, I am not very impressed with the sound I am hearing. While it is definitely not a downgrade, I don't know that I would consider it a $300+ worthwhile upgrade, still distorts at halfway volume unless I turn the bass and mid all the way down on my stock stereo. They are rated 100-150 RMS while my factory speakers I believe were about 35 RMS. I find it hard to believe that adding an amp and pushing these speakers harder would yield better results (less distortion at higher volumes) though if I do end up installing one I will happily provide an update. I would rather have paid an extra $100 for better speakers, then saved for an amp then an low end "upgrade" that sounds the same as stock. *Please note that this review is based on purchase for an upgrade, anyone just looking for factory replacement might be happy with them.

Significant improvement over stock Toyota speakers. Install was easy thanks to Crutchfield's installation instructions and the included wiring harnesses and adapter rings. Took about 20 mins per door to change out each speaker. Music sounds sooo much better for a small amount of money !

Amazing Upgrade from Stock

These speakers are an absolute must for anyone that owns a Tacoma. Installation was super easy and took less than 30 minutes. The sound quality on these speakers is amazing and adds a ton of clean yet deep sounding bass. I replaced my stock speakers for Kicker 47KSC6904 on my Tocoma Gen 3. The sound is 100 times better than the cheap crap Toyota has in the truck. One would think that if you pay $40k for a truck, the stock speakers would be decent. Took me about an hour to install the speakers. I suggest watching Youtube for installation instruction. After the installation I drove my truck for an hour just to hear the difference. All I can say is WOW!!!! I have dash tweeters arriving on Monday and that is a easy peasy install too. Next month I will be replacing the woofer in the rear doors with the Kicker's 6.5. I am replacing the speakers one set at a time so the wife unit does not freak out over the cost. Total upgrade cost around $250.00 which is not bad considering the Toyota JBL is around $800.00 You do the math

A Great speaker upgrade that is cost-effective.

These speakers are an improvement over the Ford factory installed 6" x 9" speakers. The Kicker speakers are at an affordable price, the speakers produce a clear sound stage, the bass is good, and an improvement over the Ford factory 6" x 9" speakers, the 2 way Kicker speakers high frequency speakers have a 1" dedicated tweeter that does an excellent job at representing the high frequencies, so good that the Ford factory installed tweeter located in the windshield roof pillar supports installed tweeters are not noticeable. The Kicker speakers are cost-effective because the next marketplace upgrade installed speakers cost substantially more.

These Speakers Freaking Rock

They're perfect. Great bass, clean strong tweeter, full mids. Clear, clean, and built like tanks. They'll take anything you throw at them, and keep on crankin. I've got them in my tacoma's front doors, running a steady 50 watts each. These are probably the first speakers I've ever had where I'm not, in the least bit, afraid to blow them. I would recommend these to anyone. Anytime. Time and time again.

2017 highlander front doors

Put these in my 2017 highlander front doors. I also have a kenwood DSP amp installed in place of the factory JBL amp which really powered these 6x9 nicely! Sound quality over factory speakers was insane. Very happy with these speakers and will be using kickers again in the future.
