Works well for what I was looking to do with it. Won't shake you out of the car, but good for adding that extra little bass punch you might be looking for. Good if space is an issue and doesn't require a lot of power to push it. Be sure to take the extra time and "tune" your head unit/amp..definitely made a difference in the sound quality I received.

Big sound out of small box
Brad from Wake Forest, NC on 4/1/2025
2022 Ford Bronco
Just what my Bronco needed! The sound system is not the best in these vehicles. I replaced all the speakers shortly after I bought it. It was seriously lacking bass. This down firing sub is perfect! Plenty of bass paired with the Kicker key 500.1! The down firing design is perfect and doesn't take up too much room. I also recommend the wiring harness, but you will need to attached RCA ports if you plan to use RCA speaker cables.
Pros: Big sound Compact design Down firing
Cons: None yet

Great subwoofer for my compact SUV
Sean from Buffalo, NY on 10/16/2024
I'm very happy with this sub. I was looking for something to add some bass to my stereo in my Audi Q5. The build in sub is tiny and lack of bass is a common complaint. I decided on this because I wanted a sealed enclosure that wouldn't take up much space. This fits nicely behind my rear seat, and is narrow enough that it doesn't take up much space. It's also flat and sturdy enough to stack stuff on top of it. I've got the amp running off of the stock sub's high level inputs. The bass eq on the amp is up about a quarter of a turn, and the EQ in the stereo is flat. This does a great job of filling in the low end without being overwhelming. It can definitely go louder but I'm looking more for a flat frequency response. The binding posts are nice, easy to use, and high quality. The enclosure it nice and sturdy. The sound quality is great.
Pros: - Nice strong bass - Runs well with a fairly low-power amp (150w) - Sturdy enclosure - Good sound quality

Not necessarily a dud
Christopher from Lawton,OK on 8/15/2024

The 3 star rating is a compromise since I ended up returning the loaded subwoofer enclosure. The rating is not meant as an indication of the actual performance or quality of the product, nor as an adverse response to Crutchfield. I purchased the loaded sub enclosure as part of a build for a 2011 Toyota Tundra Double Cab. The enclosure was returned since it wouldn't allow the driver's side rear seat to lay fully flat. I chalk it up to my expectations vs actual fitment not aligning... no knock against Crutchfield nor the Kicker brand. Crutchfield's return process was effortless! A response and an RMA were initiated within 30 minutes of submitting the request. Crutchfield had a credit towards my Rewards posted to my account and a Credit Card refund actioned within a few hours of the return being received at their facility.
Pros: 3/4" MDF cabinet, value for a legacy "name brand" loaded enclosure with a 10"woofer
Cons: small size not small enough for my application

Bass in a small space
Craig from San Diego, CA on 5/26/2024
Great little Sub, I paired it with a Sound ordinance M - 350-1 Not only does this do well with taking very little space. It has enough bass for me to enjoy some good hard hitting songs. Cruising around on the freeway with the windows down, I can still hear some boom.
Pros: Great design built very solid tight sound.
Cons: None to say

I am very happy with the fun amount of bass from this sub! I am running 200 watts RMS to this enclosure and it is very accurate bass when listening to metal and rock music. In an extended cab truck the sub sounds nice and powerful, you can feel the kick drums in the seats. Rap songs with lots of bass sound really nice as well, although if you are wanting to shake your whole vehicle this may not be the sub for you. If you want an affordable, musical subwoofer I highly recommend this enclosure!

Not a bad little box. I needed a compact sub that would not break the bank and so far this has done a good job. I wanted a little bit more bass in my 1987 VW Vanagon and this did help. It's no JL sub which all my other cars have but I'm getting older and need to get away from all that. I am pushing this with a Rockford fosgate prime 250/1. A little too much power and it will send this sub into distortion . Can't beat the price and maybe this will sound even better once it's broke in.

I installed this sub in my nieces car for Christmas. I was skeptical of a down firing sub but I wanted something that would be durable to a teenager throwing things in the trunk and not damaging the sub. So I get it installed and me and my brother in law fell im love with the sound it produces. Some songs hit a little different which is understandable due to it being a 10" woofer and not a twelve. Overall I would recommend this sub enclose to anyone looking to grab something budget friendly and space saving.
Pros: Good sound, compact and durable build
Cons: Bass hits different then a 12" but overall good product

In my mind 150 RMS didn't seem like a lot, but it worked great in my Tacoma access cab paired with a Crutchfield amp. Turned out to be quite a bit louder than i expected. Does it shake my mirror? Barely.. but that's not what I was looking for, just something to round out the bottom end. Fits perfectly behind my driver seat.

Compliments my Custom Autosound setup
Gregory from Cheshire, CT on 9/11/2023
Great sub, I'm very happy with it. Using it with a Pioneer GM-a3702 500 watt amp. Put in my 1966 Buick Wildcat. I replaced the 2 original (and dead) mono speakers with modern DVC replacements from Custom Auto Sound, and a Custom Auto sound head unit. They sound great but lack some nice thump, as you'd expect from a single 4x10 and 6x9. This sub fills in the lows very nicely without taking up much space in the trunk. It really puts out great sound for the size and price! Got it from the scratch and dent outlet at discount, has no damage I could see. I think the original box had some holes, but unit itself was unscathed. System has much warmer sound now.
Pros: Small footprint and downward firing so I can store stuff on top of it if needed. Great sound and bass for the size and price.
Cons: None so far, very happy.

For the money and convenience I doubt you could do any better and I'm very satisfied with the sealed subwoofer and box package. My last build was in a van and I had an opportunity to experiment with subwoofer placement and I found a forward facing subs sound weak. I thought it was particular to that set up but after talking to kicker customer support turns out downward (or upward or backward, basically anything but forward facing) subs just sound better by far. No idea why there are so many forward facing subs out their but unless you really know what your doing (e.g. professional) forward facing subs are just not doing it right. If I were to be nitpicky I'd say I did not get as much mid-tones as I thought I might considering the wide frequency response but trying to get mids out of a sub is not really the way to do it. This sub defiantly likes to hang around the low frequencies. Lots of punch and vibrations. 150 watts if plenty of power for me. I spent hours looking at sub speakers and researching how to build my own box an came to the conclusion that there's lots that can go wrong. This package solved the whole issue and is a great deal, absolutely no complaints. Just barley fits on the floor behind the drivers seat with no room to spare, slightly limits how far back I can slide the chair but it's not a problem. Packaging says "extremely tough enclosure resists stacking weight" which is good.
Pros: Solves the whole subwoofer and box piece in one easy package. Lots of boom. Tough enclosure designed for stacking weight. Kicker customer support.
Cons: As with any sub finding the space may be an issue. If you place it on the floor behind the seat that seat is going to get the majority of the vibrations. Don't expect it to compensate for lacking mid-range frequencies despite the fairly high frequency response.

This thing bumps pretty good, it's perfect for what I wanted. I didn't want something that would rattle my windows but I definitely wanted to be able to hear it. It's helped to fill in the lows of my audio system. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I had to turn the gain up all the way on my amp for it to even move any air.
