Works well for smaller cabins, have two of these boxes(10inch) with a kicker 800watt amp. Sound amazing for the price and size.

Pros: Very thin Good bang for your buck Can hit lower notes than you'd think

Very surprised "AFTER 10 hrs of being broke in" this thing was disappointing with an 800 watt max scar amp AT first! After being used for a 10 hr drive it kept sounding better. Now is very impressive for a sibgle 10" sub in my wifes daily driver

Pros: Decent price and nice size

Cons: Needs the max RMS amp to sound good

Kicker 10" compRT fits in my 2011 Toyota Tacoma

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I did a lot research to find a speaker box that would fit behind the back seat of my 2011 Toyota Tacoma double cab. This kicker 48TCWRT102 compRT fit nicely but I did have to remove the plastic storage panel from the back of the cab. That was the only modification I had to do. Just happy to be able to get a 10" back there. I'm very happy with the sound quality I'm getting especially, from how small of a box it is. The bass is a lot better than I was expecting. I think the passive radiator sure helps in this situation. I also appreciate the fast shipping.

Pros: Fits nicely in my 2011 Tacoma double cab and good bass.

Cons: No Cons.Just happy to have found a factory speaker box that fits and still sounds really good.

Great little sub that fit nicely behind the rear seat of my F350. Coupled with a Kicker KeyLOC and Key500.1 amp and this little thing hits really good for the small amount of space it eats up. Keeping the under seat storage was important for me so finding a box to fit behind the seat was a requirement. Crutchfield advisors helped along the way answering all my questions before the purchase. Thank you

Pros: Size, power handling

Cons: None

Kicker 48TCWRT102 Really Kicks

Stephen from Winnipeg, MB, Canada on 2/7/2025

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I've installed this subwoofer behind the seats in my 2020 Tundra Crewmax and man, does it thump! There was just enough space to fit it with no modification and the woofer barely avoids the rear seats when driven hard. Sub is served by a 500W RMS Pioneer mono amplifier. The Pioneer is fed from the line out of a Sony XM-4ES amplifier, which is in turn fed from the speaker outputs of the factory head unit. The Sony amp is also powering Alpine S2 component series speakers in the front (6x9) and rear (6.5). Couldn't be happier. Just received my Kicker KeyLOC and am excited to see how much better this system can get. I first installed a Sound Ordnance B-8PTB powered 8" subwoofer under the rear seat and while it performed admirably for it's size and power rating (and price), it didn't have the punch I was looking for. The 48TCWRT102 not only fills in the low end of the spectrum nicely (I've crossed over at 50Hz), it can handle the low frequency notes from bass-heavy songs better than I expected.

Pros: Fit behind rear seats with no modification and handles low frequenecies better than expected

Cons: May not satisfy bass fiends who want to wake the dead

Bumps way harder than I was expecting from such a small box. Awesome product and I expect it to get better after the break in period. Does not fit behind the back seats of a 2013 F150 SuperCrew as I was hoping, about 1/3" too wide to slide down, but it does fit very nicely under the rear seats.

Pros: Small, clear sounding, great bass

Cons: Just slightly too large to fit behind rear seats.

Great In A Regular Cab Truck

Verified employee review (What's this?)

Installed in my 1989 Silverado regular cab with a Kicker amp rated at 300 watts. This little box hits hard and loud for its size and sounds really good in a regular cab truck. Naturally, it doesn't reproduce super low bass well so step up to the 12 inch if you have the space and listen bass heavy music. I would have had to remove or modify the factory tool tray and move the seat forward in order to have enough space for the 12 inch version.

Pros: Good punchy bass in a small package. Fit and finish is really nice. Reasonably priced.

Cons: None.

originally went with the 8 inch version of this sub, but wanted just a touch more bass so I upgraded. I don't have anything bad to say about either sub I think it would just come down to what you want. Ultimately this has worked out very well and I'm very pleased. It's also very efficient. Currently running off 300 Watts RMS kicker amp.

Fit perfectly behind the rear seats of my double cab 2009 Tacoma. I pulled out the plastic storage cubbys for more room, you'd have to modify the cubby to fit the sub if you wanted to keep it in. Paired this with the sound ordinance 350 watt amp and it's more than enough for me. I keep the remote gain turned all the way up for most rock songs, but only about halfway for EDM, rap, and reggae.

Pros: Good volume for compact size when paired with the right amp.

Great bass for my 2002 Silverado 1500 HD

Okay, I am ready to review this Kicker 48TCWRT102 10" subwoofer I have had installed in my 2002 Silverado 1500 HD since April of this year, 2021. After a bit of a learning curve and a break-in period having it hooked up to a Pioneer GM-DX874 four channel amplifier, after configuring the rear channels for bass, it finally clicked that I needed to adjust my great sounding front Pioneer TS-Z65F speakers high pass filter to filter out around 110 MHz and lower to keep it from sounding boomy, since both front speakers and subwoofer were playing the same low frequency, making it boomy. That's where the learning curve came in and after that it just kept sounding better and better. Now it sounds awesome. Nice bass complementing my front Pioneer TS-Z65F speakers perfectly, giving great, full sound with rock and good kick for the more bass heavy titles. It even helps out for cellos and basses in classical music. As for space behind the seat, it is a bit tight, just enough room for it, but it fits.

Shocking bass for the size.

Thomas from E BRUNSWICK, NJ on 11/7/2021

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I initially selected this subwoofer for my 2021 Toyota Camry because it literally takes up no trunk space. I have a 5 channel Alpine amplifier that delivers 300 watts rms to the subwoofer. I was nervous that it was not going to be enough bass, but man I was wrong. This compact unit really packs a punch. I will say you get a much more tight punchy bass as compared to boomy. It sounds very nice. If I had to do over, I would probably just go with the 12" model because the price and size difference is negligible, and the sensitivity is higher and the bass would go deeper. Some people like to ask if you can hear it a block away. the answer is no, but remember. if you can hear it a block away it will absolutely sound terrible in your vehicle. It is more than loud enough. I had dynamat installed throughout my car just to prevent rattling. I don't think you will be disappointed with this unit, but again consider upsizing yo the 12" model. P.S. You will need to purchase the speaker grills to protect the drivers. $50 for 2 is ridiculous for plastic grills that should have just come with it.

Pros: Tight punchy bass, good sound quality, compact size

Cons: Not enough depth as the 12" model, speaker grills not included

2020 Toyota Tacoma double cab. This is what I was looking for. Sounds great for a shallow sub box that fits in tight places. The passive radiator seems to create a little more volume than you'd get from a sealed box. My story for those with 3rd gen Tacomas with jbl. I first bought an 8 inch 2 ohm Rockford sub to drop into the stock sub box. Sounded like crap. So I bought a mono amp but the sub couldn't take the power so crutchfield quickly replaced the Rockford with a Kicker 8 inch comp rt that could take the power. Sounded better but rattled the box too much. The stock box couldn't handle the kicker. I couldn't find a truck box for a single 8 inch woofer that looked quality which brought me to this 10 inch loaded kicker box with passive radiator. Save yourself some time and save crutchfield some return shipping money and just go right to this box with 10 inch sub. For 3rd gen Tacoma double cabs. Only downside is that I had to remove the plastic behind the seat that used to sit in front of the stock sub box. And I had to relocate the stock amp to the back wall, which was super easy.

Pros: Sounds great. Fits in tight places. Passive radiator seems to create more volume. Runs well on 200-400rms.

Cons: Only con is I had to remove the plastic liner behind the seat to install it (only applies to 3rd gen Tacoma with stock jbl)
