Extremely Clear Audio

These are in the front doors of my 2008 RAM 1500 and they are some of the cleanest and clearest sounding speakers that I have ever heard. They are driven by an Alpine w770 with the KTA-450 Alpine Power Pack preamp. These speakers can be heard from hundreds of feet away.

I'm Sold, I Love 'em

As an Alpine loyalist, I had to go with Kicker for my particular setup via the amp power I already owned. Wow am I happy!!! While I'm strictly using em for the mids and highs, I'm pushing the full 150RMS from a bridged amp into them and mannnn do they SCREAM!!! I have the matching 6.75" Kickers in the front and it's a great combo with a SUB. Chefs kiss for clear, powerful sound, in a vehicle, without crossing into the competition category.

They sounds pretty good but received them and one had a messed up dome tweeters cause the shipping box was damaged. Don't know if it changed the sound and didn't want to go through the hassle of putting old one back on and sending them back so I just kept it.

Nice sound

It's a shame they won't be visible, very attractive. Good sound . It's been 5 days and the brake in is giving me more surprises. Lights years ahead of the crappy Toyota oem. Way to much stuff in the box , could save $ without all that extra stuff. PACKAGE JUST THE SPEAKERS.

Surprisingly good speakers, poor instructions

Excellent sounding speakers with nice mid- and high-range detail complemented by warm, full bass across the frequency spectrum. I was hesitant to buy Kicker branded speakers thinking they were more for stadium parking lot thump competition. Took the chance based on the Crutchfield community recommendations and am delighted. I purchased for a 2025 Chevy Equinox EV that overlaps well with the Blazer EV components that Crutchfield has researched. The installation was easy, taking about two hours total. I had read in Crutchfield's Q&A section that customers were confused by three electrical connections on the speakers when people had only (+) and (-) wires coming from their head unit. Thankfully Crutchfield explains that the crossovers need to be wired into the system - they are not optional. The meager wiring instructions provided by Kicker were for a coaxial speaker and said nothing about the crossovers. Crutchfield saved the day! Five-star speakers, two-star instructions from Kicker.

Awesome

These 3-way 6x9s sound fantastic in my 2019 Jeep Renegade front doors. Some reviews state they are very quiet. I did not experience this issue with my factory Uconnect. They get really loud and have a very good amount of bass without an amp. The highs are very clear and overall I'm so impressed I don't think I'm going to bother with an amp. The crossover connectors I soldered to the harness adapter Crutchfield.com provided, but I wish I had shortened the cable some. When I installed these I used the smaller 10x10 Dynamat sheets and had zero issues using that if I turned the sheets and poked the screen holes in advance. These speakers come with a few different spacing brackets and I went ahead and use the smallest one to make sure I had glass clearance. Overall they are a impressive upgrade over the garbage factory speakers.

Very balanced and clear

Nice upgrade from factory speakers

Installed on my Nissan Frontier Pro-4X, this upgrade significantly enhances the sound quality, even with the stock 2-ohm speakers. The audio used to be muddy, but now it's much clearer and crisper. Previously, my listening volume was set to 14, but now I only need to increase it by 1 to achieve the same level. I'm planning to install an amp soon to see how much more performance I can get out of the speakers.

Very smooth, Great sounding 3-way 6"x 9"'s

I purchased it for my 2018 Chevy Silverado Crew cab. Using my factory stereo. Upgraded my stock speakers to Kicker KS speakers in my dash 2 3/4", front door 6"x9" 3-way, and back doors CS 6 3/4" 2-ways. Running mids and highs on and Alpine Ktp-445u installed hi level inputs. Mounted behind the factory stereo. The KS 2 3/4" in the dash come with a 800Hz inline crossover. These 6"x9"s come with a separate crossover that has to be installed and mounted to the speaker or near by. The fronts are high passed at 60hz and the backs at 80hz. These 3-ways sound great in the doors. Good amount of mid bass. Definitely recommend changing the dash at the same time in one of these trucks. These even sound pretty good off the factory stereo power. These 3-ways definitely like a little power. They come to life. The silk dome mids and highs sound smooth. Not too bright. Next purchase will be some sound deadening and speaker baffles. If not add an amp would recommend the Kicker CS versions.

Very easy install, although Crutchfield did send me a wire harness to hook up to the factory plugin, I did have to do a couple wire cuts and crimps because these 6x9s have required crossovers and those did not have any wire connections on them. After the install, they sound amazing.

Solid mid budget speakers

I purchased these over my 2020 Crosstrek stock speakers and these sound so much better. I can specifically notice how much more dynamic the music is while turned up medium to high. I would recommend a new amp/head unit as the speakers are a bit underpowered but regardless are a great starting point for an audiophile.

Phenomenal speakers

I switched from the Alpine Type S to these. The sound isn't as loud but way cleaner. I'm running them off the factory radio and you can tell once amped the sound will be amazing. The kickers do a great job of fulfilling the truck with music. Can't wait to do the rest of the speakers

Great tri axial upgrade speakers

Fits my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder front doors. Get all suggested parts, and tools if you don't already have panel tools. Tech support number is included with kit but I didn't need it. Adapter wiring connectors fit but + terminal connector is a bit of a force fit. Love the sound, great speakers.

Satisfying

So far so good. Sound is extremely clear with great depth. They are distorting above 75% volume. Since I don't have an amp yet, I think they're starving for power at that level, so I'm holding it at 70% for now.

Excellent speakers compared to OEM!

I have a Subaru legacy with the limited trim so it came with a decent head and speakers so I didn't expect a big improvement just replacing the speakers alone. But after swapped these kickers speakers, boy what a difference! I can hear more solid base and high range. It's a bit expensive but worth it. One thing I wish Crutchfield would include a surface mount foam because it was not flushed

Added depth, clarity and tons of frequency range over stock speakers!

Its been a few weeks since install and I have been very impressed. Only reason for the 4 stars vise the 5, was a minor issue with one speaker. After a little more than 2 weeks, I started to get a popping noise on one woofer in the AM when the weather was cooler (below 55 degrees) which would go away in the afternoon on my way home from work. Thinking I got a dud speaker, I did some troubleshooting and upon inspection, I found the woofer tinsel leads had folded onto each other and were shorting out causing the audible pop at all volume levels. It was a quick and easy fix as I just separated and laid them outward vise inward like they were. Ill give it a couple of weeks before I call it fully repaired. No need to return or contact Crutchfield CS yet as Im still inside my 60 day window. Other than that, on a stock head unit pumping out a whopping 15 watts of power, these speakers really increase the depth and stage of my 4Runner. Install was straightforward and the only issue I had was the mounting holes on the basket are large and slotted with the heads of the screws being just slightly bigger. I ended up using the grill mounting ring to provide a better surface area and secure the speaker to the adapter. After that, the speaker sat nice and flat against the adapter and provided a perfect seal and a little extra protection for the surround.

Kicker has lived up to its reputation with these 6x9's for sure. I replaced all 4 door speakers in my renegade with these all driven by a Sony head unit , for 20 watts rms these speakers exceed my expectations at that lower power level. The in-line crossovers must be the key to getting distortion free crisp sound. The low end is there and plays well as well as the mid and high end. I can't wait to amplify these and watch them really wake up.

Go with silk tweeters

I changed to these from JL C1 component 6x9s in the front doors. The full range sound in the doors compliments 3.5 inch coaxials on the dash and the there is no interference, the soundstage is full and clean. I found that no speakers sound very good until there is an aftermarket head unit to deliver clean sound. These are powered through a Pioneer GM-DX874 at 100 watts per channel, which is more than enough power, hearing damage probably starts at half volume. I run the high pass filter on the amp all the way down, around 30 Hz, and these speakers might roll off some before then, but they sound clean all the way to the bottom of their range. I upgraded all speaker wire to 16 gauge. The mids and highs are clean without being harsh... my prior aluminum tweeters worked well for distinct note music, but silk can articulate crashing drum symbols smoothly, without resonance, while single notes are still clear. Bass is powerfull at 100 watts, I don't expect them to be a subwoofer, but they dig deep enough to cover most of the audible low range with depth. These are mounted in 3.5 inch, slimline foam speaker baffles with a hole cut in the back to allow bass and heat to escape. Plenty of detail in the sound. I compared them to full range through 5-way speakers and decided on these.

Best Front Speakers for Outback Wilderness

Decided to go with a 3 way speaker for my Outback Wilderness since ill be running an amp to all four door speakers. I would go with the 2 way speakers if you dont plan on running an amp. Overall much better than stock by a mile. Even without the tweeters hooked up atm, its a night and day difference.

I purchased these to replace the blown factory speaker that was in my 2018 Tacoma when I bought it. These were super simple to install. I didn't need to use the brackets that Crutchfield, because these speakers had the brackets already included in the box. At first, when compared to the factory speakers, I was not impressed with the bass at all. But after breaking them in, these things sound soooooo much better than the factory speakers. So much that I ordered 6 3/4" speakers for the back doors. If you are replacing standard factory speakers, these are definitely with the money.

These work like a charm. The only downside I had was that the adapters they came with didn't have 3 prongs, it only had two so I just spliced the speaker wires. Sounds great! Definitely getting the same pair for the rear

These sound great. They do come with crossovers. These are separate parts that are not packed well in the box. The Crutchfield CS team should lead with this known issue as it took some time to argue to get to this conclusion that the crossovers are not packed well. These speakers have a very crisp sound, and one should consider if these are to be installed in a door in a vehicle that already has dash speakers. They can overpower the deep bass if an equalizer is not present. Audiophiles will enjoy, though.

2-way or 3-way

Confused as these state they are 2-way speakers, but had 3 prongs in the back of the speaker. I figured the pictures of the speaker were just a reference being that it said these were 2-way. The crossover/compositor has two wires coming out of it that have no female prongs on the end of the wires. I wish that this was an option to purchase the female prongs that fit the quick harness I purchased to make it quick and simple when installing. Ended up having to make a special trip to the audio store to buy these. I understand why they are not on there, but wish I knew about it ahead of time and was able to purchase it all together.

Bumpin' three-ways

These kickers are awesome! I installed four of these in a 2016 Jeep Renegade (non-amplified 6 speaker). Took me pry 2.5 hours. Crutchfield sends instructions that are pretty good with YT videos to supplement. Why the four stars? The speakers were not quite a direct fit...manipulating the screws in the star pattern during the install fix it (really a minor issue). Also on the instructions Crutchfield sends they have you remove the door lock and release cable (figure 6)...I did not do this. Rather I rested the door panel on a bucket and that worked great. I used a plastic trim pry-bar and tool kit to remove some of the trim and a very small straight tip screwdriver where the head is angled 90 degrees for the rest (this worked well). Crutchfield was nice enough to send a wiring harness for free. However the wiring harness had two prongs and this is a three-way speaker. I used the factory three prong harness, removed the two terminated ends of the Crutchfield harness, and used the supplied in-line dual crimps to attach kicker harness to wiring harness and then plugged into the factor speaker wire connector. Overall easy install with some minor tweaks. I used the supplied mounting bracket and the same screws for install (did not use the protective cover or outline). Would have been five stars if cheaper with more straightforward install.

Good speaker for the price, decent bass

They weren't too difficult to install with the supplied master sheet for my car. Only had one thing that wasn't real clear about the removal of my back deck in the window. But they sound nice. Good quality voice and mids a decent amount of bass at higher volumes. I haven't had them a really long time so we'll see how they stand up over time. So far I'm happy and would buy again. Just to note they do come with an inline passive crossover that must be installed. It wasn't too difficult to do and then I just used velcro to attach underneath the rear deck in the trunk near the 6x9s.

Great line of speakers! "these pack a nice punch"

This speaker pairing is a nice compliment to my Kicker 46CST204 CS Series 3/4" dome tweeters used for my cars front seat sound stage, along with the addition of rear Kicker 47KSC6504 KS Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers. With proper installation and setup these pack a nice punch along with a well-rounded midrange driver and smooth accents from the additional silk dome tweeters. Whether you listen to Jazz, Metal, or R&B, volume high or volume low, there are clear frequency distinctions that'll bring to life your favorite tunes! Great line of speakers! Excellent pick with the 3-way speakers. The Crutchfield instructions don't mention the crossover or need to splice wiring to integrate them. Included harness adapter was simple and fit perfectly into the factory female end. Very happy with the purchase so far.

Great speakers

I installed these speakers in my 2029 Jeep Renegade. Not only were they a great replacement for my cheap factory speakers, but they are also an upgrade. The wiring isn't complicated and this was my first time working with crossovers which were supplied. I replaced all four door speakers and it sounds great. For those saying that it lacks bass or the sound isn't good, check what your head unit is putting out. I got lucky and turns out the Renegade has an output of 4 ohms. I had originally order some smaller Kenwood 2 ohm speakers from here which were nice but not quite what I was looking for. The bass is great, mids and highs are crisp, and overall these are some good speakers. The rear doors on the Renegade are smaller and I had to rotate one the speakers but it still worked just fine. Make sure you use the butt connectors correctly. You'll have to cut the adapter harness and connect it to the crossover and speaker if the adapter harness applicable.

Well rounded

Good mids/highs. Better than my newly retired old focal 6x9's. The bass for these 6x9 door speakers is also decent (with amp) imo, contrary to some of the other reviews. A good deal if on sale. So, very balanced sound with the wide frequency range for a discerning ear.

Replacent foe 2015 Jeep Renegade

Replaced the stock rear door speakers in a 2015 Jeep Renegade with these and they sound great. More clear highs, mids and bass, while still using the stock head unit. The stock speakers sounded hollow and were missing some of the mids and highs and the bass. Huge upgrade!

Installed these in my front doors hooked up to my factory head unit, and the difference is remarkable. Nice clarity and great bass. I actually started with the 6.5 inch kicker DS series and returned those for these - good decision. These also pair really well with the kicker 2.75 inch KS series I installed in my dash. Can't wait to see how they sound with a new head unit.

So far so good. Just installed these 3 ways and they sound great. The free install bracket and wire harness fit perfect and save having to splice wires.

Great Speakers Equal Great Sound

This speaker was purchased as part of a 6 speaker replacement audio system for my 2020 Ram 1500 Lonestar. This speaker can not be compared to the original speaker. It's so many times better in every way. It's sound is clear, clean, precise. There is no false mid bass hump to exaggerate the sound. If bass is there, you will hear and or feel it. If not, great. Clean sound. Even with the factory amp it plays plenty loud and clean. All Kicker KS series speakers play really loud. I see no need to install an after market amp. Please reset the bass, tremble, and fade after installation is complete. I placed these speakers in the front doors, Kicker 47KSC6504 in the rear doors, and the Kicker 47KSC3504 in the dash. Together they make great stereo music in my truck. Very satisfied indeed.

Not bad, but disappointing overall performance

I tried these speakers with the Kicker dash 47KSC3504 speakers in my 2022 Subaru Forester. They were driven by the stock head unit and a 60W RMS aftermarket amp. The Kickers had much better overall sound than the stock speakers but ultimately I was disappointed with them. They didn't sound bad but the system as a whole underperformed with regard to an even sound across the entire frequency range (I was using the supplied Kicker crossovers). There was not enough warmth and balance in the low and mid frequency ranges, and I felt like I was being assaulted with the high frequencies. I replaced them with the Focal ISU 690 also from Crutchfield and am much happier with those speakers.

Solid choice for an upgrade.

Have trusted Kicker brand of products for a few different cars over the years. When I decided to swap my factory speakers in the GX460, went for these 6X9 3-Ways in my front doors. Excellent choice. Sound great and I can only imagine what they would sound like with an after market amp. Solid choice for an upgrade.

Rich mids with bright highs, Affordable, Sensitive. Super nice!

These speakers are bright and sensitive. The main speaker produce a rich and solid low through mid level sound and the tweeters produce a bright high level sound that worked pretty well with my factory amp even though their impedance was 4ohm instead of the factory apm's 2.5ohm impedance. That said they came to life with my AudioControl amp once it was installed!
