About the Kicker Q-Class 41L7124
Truly huge bass
Truly huge bass
Kicker's updated L7™ Series subwoofers are designed for one purpose: to deliver truly huge, supremely accurate bass. The 41L7124 12" component subwoofer handles up to 900 watts RMS, so you can count on major-league performance. Its innovative square cone moves much more air than a conventional 12" round cone, and this sub's made to take anything you can dish out. The two 4-ohm voice coils help to draw maximum power from your amplifier.
Built-in toughness
The woofer's forged aluminum frame and Santoprene™ rubber surround handle high-level playback, while keeping the cone on track. The injection-moulded SoloKon™ polypropylene cone features special back bracing for strength and responsiveness. And the UniPlate™ back plate and pole piece are made as a single, solid unit to allow heat to escape the motor. Translation? Kicker designed this sub to take some serious punishment.

Features
Square Design: By making the cone square, Kicker is giving you the most possible cone area (Sd) for a given size baffle, 16% to 20% more area than a conventional round subwoofer. More cone area means the cone moves more air, resulting in louder, deeper bass.
Dual Voice Coils: For increased system flexibility, the woofer has two 4Ω voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2Ω load; when wired in series, the woofer presents an 8Ω load.
Terminals: The spring post terminals will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs (but not dual), and bare wire up to 8 gauge.
Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker L7 woofers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum bass response. The high-performance suspension system makes the speakers very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.
Sealed Enclosure: A sealed enclosure design gives the smoothest response with increased energy at the lowest frequencies (between 20 and 30 Hz).
- Minimum Volume: 1 ft³
- Maximum Volume: 2 ft³
Vented Enclosure: A vented enclosure design increases efficiency relative to sealed enclosures.
- Minimum Volume: 1.75 ft³ with a 2½" x 13¼ x 22½" slot port
- Maximum Volume: 3.25 ft³ with a 3" x 13¼" x 14½" slot port
Cutout: The woofer will not mount in a standard enclosure with a round cutout. Instead, the woofer must be mounted in an enclosure with a 11.017" x 11.017" square opening.

For a small price tag I get enormous performance. I've had 2 15s in most of my builds and just one of the Q class L7 12s keeps up with or outperforms those setups. Hands down, the best 12 inch sub for the price tag!!!
