A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 43VCWR122 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 12" CompR sub behind your music. The rugged ported box was designed specifically for the sub, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy.

Hard-hitting CompR sub

The 12” CompR subwoofer comes equipped with a tough, polypropylene cone that stays rigid during intense play sessions so you hear accurate bass. A custom-designed back and top plate give the woofer plenty of room to travel, while the durable rubber surround helps to control cone movement during a heavy workout. This sub uses extensive venting in its heavy steel basket to shrug off heat, so you can count on reliable performance.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the special-design port delivers more bass without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier. This Kicker will handle up to 500 watts RMS, so make sure you pick an amp that'll make that CompR sub happy.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals (one pair) are mounted on the back of the enclosure (toward the right side) and will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 43VCWR122 enclosure uses one 12" CompR series subwoofer.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompR speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Q
Can this sub be removed and configured to 1 ohm independence and reinstalled in the enclosure?

A
I believe this is a dual 4 ohm voice coil sub and can only be configured in 2 or 8 ohm final impedence
jun  Sep 09, 2019
A
I believe you can remove the sub but you could possibly damage the sub and void the warranty. You're better off buying the sub and box separately.

Havent really weighed it but by feel its probably around 35lbs-ish, not that heavy
jun  Jul 05, 2018
A
I'm not sure the exact weight, but I'd guess some where around 25-30 pounds. I did the installation of it 6 months ago. Its heavy enough to not slide around in your trunk. And light enough to install relatively easily.
travis  Jul 04, 2018
A
Its about 50 pounds .

Q
can this be wired to 4ohms?
doug  Nov 28, 2017

A
This subwoofer box cannot be wired to a 4 ohm load. However, we do have other preloaded subwoofer boxes that are already wired a 4 ohms. I recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for a personal recommendation on one. HTH! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your sub I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
How do I opens the enclosure to install another speaker in there? .thank
emmanuel  Jun 28, 2017

A
You should be able to take the sub out if that's what you mean. Around the sub should be plastic/rubber that can be taken out to reveal the screws if I'm not mistaken.
jun  Jul 05, 2018
A
This comes as a sealed unit and is not designed to be opened and here is certainly not enough room to add another speaker.
