Crutchfield Was No HELP?

Instructions are lacking! Very lacking had to go to local installers for instruction on installation. Contacted Crutchfield several times by phone and by email with NO HELP. I need just on more item to get the credit I earned. It will be my last purchase from this company? They are all good and happy before you purchase but we tried & tried to get help with the alarm instructions. Stereo system installations are straight forward but we knew nothing about this alarm system. Sorry Crutchfield I will no longer purchase anything else from you. And please don't try to kiss up, just fix your weekend customer service. Many of us only have time to install on the weekends. Hopefully this alarm is reliable.

Pros: I now have power door locks.

Cons: Crutchfield Service after the sell.

We were sorry to hear about Randy's experience with our Tech Support team. We're forwarding this on to our Tech Support supervisors, so they can look into it. We strive to provide the best service, before, during, and after your purchase, and it looks like we missed the mark this time. We hope he gives us another chance to prove we're the best in the business. Our Tech Support specialist, Austin, also reached out to Randy to help him further.

Horrible Quality

These actuators are flat out horrible quality material and practically don't work. I got them installed by professional installers and when testing 2 out, they rattled and shook aggressively, barely even locking/unlocking the doors. The installer told me if they are already working like this, they will die very quickly, potentially locking me in my car. Do Not Prchase This Product!!

2005 Honda Civic: Manual locks to power locks.

Joseph from Idaho on 4/22/2015

Recently installed security system into 2005 Honda Civic, decided to also install power locks. Car is manual in every way so this was a little bit of a hassle but well worth it.

Pros: Fairly simple system to use. Had to get a few other products to complete the process and there were very few tutorials out there but Crutchfield customer service knows exactly what they are talking about. They ensured that I ordered the right parts.

Cons: This isn't really a con, just a warning to anyone attempting the same. The system works by attaching two brackets; one to hold the actuator and another to keep the locking cable in place so the actuator rod can switch the lock. This Honda has 3 layers of insulation over the cable, two plastic layers and one metal coil in-between. It is a fairly tedious process involving a small metal saw held in hand and straight edge razors. Be sure to follow wiring diagram.
