Product Research
Features
Overview: The HomeLink Universal Garage Door Opener is a programmable, 2-button device that can be installed in your vehicle, or on your motorcycle, lawn mower or ATV. It is compatible with almost all garage door systems. This compact can operate your garage door, security gate, or home lighting. It is powered by a long-life, self-contained battery.
Compatibility: The HomeLink Universal Garage Door Opener is compatible with over 99% of garage door and gate opening systems, including the following brands: Allstar, Chamberlain, Craftsman, Genie, Guardian, Hormann, Liftmaster, Linear, Marantec, Overhead Door, Ryobi, Sommer, Wayne Dalton, and Xtreme Garage. It can also be used with Allstar, Chamberlain, DoorKing (MicroCLIK systems only), Chamberlain Elite, Linear, and Sentex gate operators.
Programming: You will need to program the HomeLink device, so that it "learns" the codes of your manufacturer's remote. Once you have installed the HomeLink in your vehicle, the manufacturer's remote is held 1 to 3 inches from the HomeLink device, while pressing the buttons on the remote. Some garage door opener systems use a rolling code, which requires extra steps in programming the HomeLink.
Installation: The HomeLink Universal Garage Door Opener installs in your vehicle's dash or console for a factory look. Flush-mounting the device requires a cutout of 1.56" x 0.821" (cutout template included), and 2.756" of clearance behind the mounting surface. Some vehicles have properly-sized knockouts that can be used. When installed, the device is approximately 1" x 2" x 1/2" above the mounting surface.
