Doesn't work

This interface is completely worthless. I bought it for a 2007 Pontiac Solstice and other than 12v constant and Ground the pins were completely wrong for this car. Luckily I had access to a GM wiring diagram and could switch the pins for the factory amp and speakers. Still working on getting the steering wheel controls to work, which is why I bought this module in the first place. Definitely would not recommend. In the attached pictures below (image 6317) you can see the original configuration with the amp signal wire going to what is actually a speaker output. Second photo (image 6313) shows the proper configuration. The amp signal wire isn't even in this plug on the car side. Also for anyone doing a Solstice or Sky you will need to run 12v accessory from the fuse panel in the passenger floorboard. I'm just glad I didn't burn anything up when I hooked it up.

Works as intended

Chime worked in my 07 Pontiac Solstice. It kept the door chime, turn signal noise, and whatever else on the info dash noise. It just plays from the box and not the radio now.

Perfect for my HHR with factory pioneer

Works perfect with my Hhr with the factory upgrade pioneer system. Retained my steering wheel controls. Only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5, is that one of the pin connectors popped out & had to be finessed into place.

If I could give this product negative stars I would. Ordered on 4/13/22. I installed this on a 2008 Saturn Sky Redline that gets pulled out from under the car cover in the garage and drivin a 100 miles a year. I called tech support last year because the connections on the box jiggle loose and randomly dont give the Pioneer unit power or allow me to have chimes. Crutchfield tech support tells me its out of the year warranty and theres nothing they can do. I've become a pro tearing my dash apart just to jiggle the box so everything would work. I've even moved it closer to my glove box so I can reach through the hole and wiggle the connections. Ive checked every wire for loose connection, every pin on the connector to make sure its tight, and zip tied connector tighter to box and nothing seems to work. I give up and am looking for another product.

Warning Alerts are Different from Factory

I've been experiencing issues with the warning chimes. It has the standard chimes like turn signal, key in ignition, door open. But then some chimes like hazards no longer make sound, or suddenly my car will start chiming for 10 or 30 sec when I lock my doors. These aren't factory settings on my Chevy. They're different settings designed by Crux and they make me worried if its a defect or not. My multimeter confirmed connectivity of all wires are functioning properly. It would be nice if Crux explained a summary of the chimes in their manual. I feel its misleading by saying its factory chimes.

It was exactly what I was looking for. The directions were well written and easy to follow. The best thing was being able to call and talk to a live person to order and then when i called and asked about the mute wire the person was very knowledgeable. Also when ordering the person informed me that I would also need the antenna wire to connect the radio I had. It was overall a great experience.

Crux CS-GM11B Wiring Interface

The box works, but there are issues with my Saturn Sky. My car has the monsoon system which includes an 8" woofer in the rear wall. When I installed my new Sony stereo with this wiring kit, the bass went away completely. If I shift the balance to the rear and left or right side, the bass comes back. I've double checked wiring and it's correct per the Crutchfield wiring guide and the manual for the interface, but it has to be doing something wrong for there to be no bass when centered. I reinstalled the oem headunit to double check, and it works fine then. Crutchfield support is good, but support from Crux for the device itself has been non-existent. No response to emails sent to their tech support via their website.

The wiring interface worked perfectly and gives new life to a 2011 Malabo with only 70,000 miles on it but the radio stopped working.

Works as it should

Initial review. I have verified the car sounds like turn signals and ignition key reminder do work. Setup and wiring was easy but test your setup before you put the dash back together. I had a problem with the overall volume being too loud and discovered that my car has a factory installed external amplifier that i was not aware of. Switching the input cable from "non-bose" to "bose" was the right choice for my application.

Good interface overall and made the wiring fairly simple. I like that it has an adjustable chime level and options for both amplified and non-amplified systems. Mine is amplified (factory Monsoon system) and using the Bose side works well. The only thing I don't like is that even though it has a built-in reverse signal wire, it doesn't work right. With that one connected I was getting a constant reverse signal to the radio, so it would keep switching to the rear view even when the camera was off. I could manually close the camera view, but then would have to manually open it again to get the reverse image. I wired in a separate reverse signal by tapping into the car's wiring and it's fine now. I just wish the built-in one worked like it's supposed to. (2008 Saturn Sky Red Line, manual transmission).

Almost there

So far, this has been a rally good solution for retaining the warning chimes and turn signal sounds on my GM vehicle (2010 Chevy Malibu w/Bose system). Interfaced easily with the aftermarket stereo harness and connected perfectly to the vehicle wiring harness. The only issues I can knock on it so far were that the instructions provided were for the incorrectly model (however, i was able to find the correct instructions on the Crux website) and not all of the warning chimes are retained (for instance, the trunk ajar warning or when switching the auto-lights off: these are both 3 short chimes). Though not a dealbreaker, I'm hoping other warning chimes (like a low tire pressure, low fuel range, etc) are retained when they occur. I hopped on a support chat with Christol at Crutchfield and she's already opening a ticket with Crux on this (so 5 stars for Crutchfield support). Other than that, went in easily.

Great! Tried a different brand from another store and nothing would work. Ordered this and outside of one small glitch that crutchfields tech department helped me with, everything worked great. Very pleased. About the only thing I could say about crux is they should have better instructions or a troubleshooting guide included . Glad I went through crutchfield!

Worked as intended. Check manaul for dip switches

Worked on my Pontiac solstice with monsoon to retain steering wheel controls. The unit and wiring was a lot to tuck behind the head unit but it did all fit. The printed manual in the box didn't match the online manual. The online manual had the correct # of dip switches, the paper copy did not.

Perfect solution for my HHR

This was a perfect choice for my HHR. Included all the necessary connections, including steering wheel controls that were astonishingly simple to install. Made all the connections simple. Also took care of the chimes and turn signal. Priced right and does the job well. Customer support was exceptional as well.

Lost Programming

Unit didn't keep the correct programming. Two weeks after installation, the steering wheel controls for the radio volume stopped functioning correctly: The volume increase button now decreases the volume. Not sure why.

2008 chevy Malibu LTZ

It works for my 2008 Chevy Malibu LTZ with the factory amp and speakers. Sounds pretty good. but a few tips to help with your install. You will lose the ability to use ONStar with this but if it's not activated anyway, no loss. Besides on a car this old, the Onstar won't be supported much longer anyway since it uses 3g technology which is being Phased out. Don't forget to connect the amp turn on wire from your new stereo to this harness other wise you will not get sound at all. Also plug in the harness in the right spot on the crux interface. If you have a cd changer, you probably have Bose. Set your dip switches to match your new radio so the steering wheel controls work. And with the key in the ignition but in the off position, adjust the small Potentiometer with a small screwdriver to adjust how loud you want your chimes to be. Mine was turned all the way down. After every thing was connected, everything worked including the steering wheel controls.

Chimes come in great. Only thing I'm missing is getting it to work with my steering controls, but I do have an obscure, off brand radio. Very easy to install. I'd recommend it.

retains monsoon functionality including chimes and steering wheel controls on 2007 pontiac solstice the only thing I do not like is that the "voice" button on the steering wheel now triggers voice recognition instead of "mute" like it did on the original system. I wish there was a way this could be configurable, but I guess it would be up to the radio and not this part.

I got one for my 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, so I could retain steering wheel controls, door chimes and turn signal audio. This is hands down the best adapter out there, it comes preprogrammed so all you gotta do is wire it up and go.. I chose to have it pre-wired into my "ready harness"

Installs easily but the additional warning sounds it provides leave a lot to be desired. For some reason the door open warning continues to chime well after the door has been closed. The low fuel warning sounds like a single click from the blinkers so is very easy to miss and that click also just randomly happens occasionally while you're driving.

Installed this in my 2007 HHR. Overall the device seems to work pretty well. I get occasional glitches with the audible noises. Sometimes the chime or blinker will not work. If I stop the blinker and start again it will make noise the second time. The only other gripe I have is I wish you could change what the steering wheel controls do. If I push "Up" on my steering wheel, my Pioneer 4100NEX radio preset goes "down" so it gets confusing changing preset channels. Also, the "Voice" button that muted the stock radio only answers the phone. I mute my radio so much more than answering a phone call. Other than that the device was simple to hook up.

A necessary addition for my stereo installation

A necessary safety / convenience feature that I was totally unaware of until I was looking for a new head unit for my 2006 Solstice. This product also included retention for the steering wheel controls. Unfortunately my controls don't work and I'm pretty sure that it is a steering wheel issue since it is doing the exact same problem as before I replaced the head unit. This product also came with all of the harnesses necessary for a complete installation.

Sent first one back after right channel would not fade. Of course Crutchfield was right on it and sent me a second one. Still have the same problem. Had to bypass the box to make the fader work. Also noticed a strange distortion when going through the box. All that being said, my steering wheel controls and my chimes work perfectly. The fellow I spoke with in tech-support was very helpful and hadn't heard of this problem. I've been around car audio for a long time and it's the first time I've run into something like this. I would love to give it more stars but as you can imagine I burned up a lot of brain cells and a lot of time fooling with this.
