Good setup for retaining most of the factory controls
Alan from Lenoir City, TN on 11/29/2022
Works well, I have most of my steering wheel controls working, instructions could be a little more helpful but I guess thats partly due to the vast variety of radios this will work with.
Pros: Easy setup
Cons: Instructions a little lacking, it does not retain 100% of the factory controls

Instructions are garbage!
Hannah from Brookston, IN on 1/31/2022
2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
First off, I'm being very generous with the four stars in giving. I'm only doing that because I did eventually get the interface to work two weeks later after my stereo install. Also I want to specify that this isn't a Crutchfield problem, they have been very nice with the troubleshooting and tech support. My issues lie with the horrible wiring instructions and the code guide Crux supplies. They specify the incorrect code for Hyundai vehicles. I had to reverse the code for Hyundai to get my car to recognize the interface. I bought a boss stereo, and the Boss code was also incorrect. I've read on some forums that you need to use the code for "generic" brand stereos. Bingo, I finally got my controls to work! Also my red and blue wire weren't crimped together for the Kenwood can bus, which even though that wire is t used for a Boss stereo, it still needs to be crimped together as a jumper for the 1/4" plug. In the end I'm happy I got the interface to work. Have faith in buying from Crutchfield, they are truly amazing to work with. Just keep in mind that this interface may not work at first with your Hyundai/Kia vehicle. That seems to be pretty common with all the research I've done. Also Crux is no help when addressing these issues.
Pros: Will work if you're willing to do some research and properly code it.
Cons: Horrible directions

Ball was dropped with this one.
Rafael from Lauderhill, FL on 7/26/2021
2011 Kia Soul
I gave it 2 stars because the support from Crutchfield was great even though the product is horrible. 2011 Kia Soul + without Premium system.. Unable to retain use of phone functions on steering wheel. Volume increases when I turn car off all by itself. Paid more from Crutchfield than it would have cost at other places for a product I would not recommend to anyone. Sorry but they definitely dropped the ball with this item. Now the hassle of having to remove it and send it back and wait for a different unit purchase more terminal connectors to install new unit. Moving forward will opt to go to local shop or car stereo place
Pros: Great support from Crutchfield.
Cons: Doesn't keep answer and end call functions on steering wheel. Causes volume to increase as radio powers down.

Good But Not Great
Crutchfield customer from Virginia Beach, VA on 7/8/2021
2009 Hyundai Veracruz
The harness connected up fine to my aftermarket headunit's harness. Things lacking were specific directions on how to hook up the Aux Input cables (they are RCA jacks vs. factory/aftermarket headunit 3.5mm jack) and loss of the factory USB port. Crutchfield Tech Support cleared up the Aux Input confusion and I got a cheap 6 inch RCA-to-3.5mm adaptor cable online overnight. As for the USB port, the factory USB port wires up through the Brown connector and a simple 12 inch male USB pigtail from the connector would be nice to plug into my aftermarket headunit's rear female USB port. Currently, I have the provided USB extension cable routed to come out a "soft spot" in my dash until I can work out a different solution. The converter box doesn't come with a cover for the DIP switch area so I was constantly checking to ensure I hadn't accidentally flipped any switches while trying to find a spot to mount it and in mounting it behind the headunit. I ended up using Velcro to mount the box up in the dash to the plastic HVAC duct. Overall, everything works as expected and only the above issues arose.
Pros: Ease of wiring. Retention of most factory features.
Cons: Loss of factory USB port. Minimal Installation Instructions. Lack of DIP Switch cover.

Easy to understand directions. First attempt at SWC interface and it worked as described. Module selector switches are easy to set. If something doesn't work the first time unplug the connectors and push them back in before trying to diagnose everything else first. With more than one connection there is a chance everything wasn't tight the first time, and I did experience that.
Pros: Simple and easy to understand directions, with a paper copy! This push to use less paper and offer PDF files is a bad idea and luckily this company does that. Ipad's in the car can easily be damaged but paper just rips, DUH!

Easy install. No issues. Retained factory steering wheel controls.

Super easy to install... Factory stereo died in a friend's 2013 Forte, so we bought her a Pioneer deck and this Wiring Interface to retain factory steering wheel controls. I soldered all the connectors from this kit to the Pioneer harness before she came by, and when she brought the car over, it was plug and play. Took maybe an hour to pull the dash apart, replace the trim panel with the new one from Crutchfield, hook up the harness, and test everything. Everything hooked up to the factory harnesses and worked perfectly on the first try. Directions for the steering wheel control module setup were easy to follow and it worked without a hitch. Highly recommended!

Made adapting my Pioneer deck to the factory harness pretty easy. Wiring was pretty much just color matching. Five of the six buttons on my steering wheel still work. Volume +/-, Track +/-, Source, Mute, Answer Call, Close Call still work. The speaker phone button does not work any longer. I got a deal on this because I bought a stereo with it but would consider the Axxess brand controller next time.
