Keep your buttons working.
Daniel from Edmond, OK on 6/5/2023
2010 Honda CRV
Not much to report other than all the buttons on the steering wheel work with an aftermarket headunit. If you're like me, "dead" buttons are just janky. So happy I retained full functionality after the swap.
Pros: Once I got into it, was easier to install than the instructions looked like. So happy I don't have "dead" buttons on the steering wheel.
Cons: It was almost as expensive as the stereo I bought. Had to find a place to cram all the wires and the module thingy.

Crutchfield was the only company that had the exact harness I needed for my install. I ordered from two different companies prior to going with the more expensive but totally worth harness from crutchfield. They even called me after my purchase to consult with me and get me exactly what I needed and to be honest I was skeptical as can be but it delivered I would never shop for audio equipment anywhere else.

This harness was used with the Sony XAV-AX4000 head unit on the 2008 Honda Odyssey. The install was almost plug-and-play. The steering wheel radio control still works like it did with the old head unit. Radio still works as usual. All speakers sound as good as I expected. I don't have the backup camera so can't say anything much. Overall, excellent product.

Splicing the wires was super easy thanks to them being pre cut and the diagrams sent with the kit was very easy to follow. Had to use the sites live chat to help with a couple things but over all pretty easy. Just very time consuming. Highly recommend mocking everything up inside on a table before jumping into the vehicle.
Pros: Easy to follow

This little gizmo fully enabled the steering wheel controls in our 2009 Honda Odyssey for peanuts! Honda had pretty tight limits on functionality between models, requiring users to upgrade the whole vehicle just to get one or two minor upgrades. This little black box gave us the ability to actually tune the radio with the steering wheel instead of just jumping between the radio preset buttons. It is really a nice feature on trips and maintained the steering wheel controls to keep the resale value up if we ever decide to sell it. Great little box of electronic voodoo. I highly recommend it.

This product works well and was easy to set up, however I did have trouble getting the steering wheel controls to work because the set up sheet from crux gave me the wrong info for the dip switches. I was able to get them to work after calling Crutchfield but the tech had different info than what was on my sheet. Once the correct dip switch was chosen it worked well.
Pros: Does the job of keeping your factory steering wheel controls. Much cheaper than local shops.
Cons: Was given the wrong info for my stereo. Double check with Crutchfield tech on dip switch position.

This wiring harness was recommended by Crutchfield for my Honda CRV because it was better for preserving steering wheel control functionality. The wiring process was tedious, as usual, but I got it right the first time, so I can't complain. Be sure to buy those recommended wire cap things because they better ensure that the wires will stay together.
Pros: Preserved steering wheel control functionality

Worked perfectly in a 2010 Honda CRV
Geoff from Longmont, CO on 1/22/2017
2010 Honda CRV
The harnesses fit perfectly in my son's 2010 Honda CRV, and everything worked exactly as expected, with one exception. The harness instructions mention that existing steering wheel controls would obtain dual functionality with the new harness - a short press for one function and a lot press for another. If also eluded to the ability to program these controls. I found neither of these options to be true. The steering wheel controls worked exactly as they previously did, but no additional capabilities. Not a big deal, as we didn't need extra capabilities, but it would have been nice since they were advertised as such.

Easy to install, installed and working in about 30 mins. My kit didnt match the exact texture of the other dash piece it is next to,but u cant really tell unless u really look at it close. Besides id rather it be off a little bit than not to have full control over my music and the capabilities of what i am listening to. I have done other dash kit installs for friends and have yet to see a company match the other dash colors and or textures.
Pros: Easy to install, detailed instructions, perfect fit
Cons: Non that i could see, given that no company will ever match the exact color and texture of other factory dash panels

Many thanks to the people who put this harness together. many years ago I used to compete in IASCA and wiring up complex systems would take days. This harness made putting in my new Pioneer head unit ridiculously easy! I made 2 calls to Support to verify things before making connections and 2 other calls because I wasn't sure of some connections (my color blindness gets in the way) and each person was polite, professional, insightful and non-judgmental. Thank you Crutchfield
Pros: Wires are pre-stripped. Color coded with pretty easy directions
Cons: A couple of the colors are not exact matches to the head unit and there was a wire labeled for something not used and it really was the connection for the antenna booster.
