Antenna Cable Should be Longer
John A from Franklin, TN on 5/23/2024
2007 Honda Pilot
The wiring interface does make the install easy, I do have one issue with the length of the antenna adapter. This is the plug that is easiest to displace when manipulating the receiver to install. If it was just 3 inches longer it would make the install so much easier
Pros: Easy install to receiver
Cons: Antenna Cable could be longer

This interface adapter is essential for making your Honda's steering wheel controls work the same as with the original factory unit.
Pros: Works reliably for SWC control of volume, track advance, and mode control.
Cons: Not really a con, but you will want to put in the time to watch the videos and read the instructions carefully before installation.

Vague Instructions Just Barely Adequate
Harry from Farmington, NM on 5/4/2022
2006 Honda Ridgeline
Took me a while to figure out how this interface wiring harness matched up with the Pioneer DMH-1770NEX radio and the harness that came with the radio. The instruction sheet is a single sheet printed on both sides that has a basic table showing wire colors and their function. It would have been better to just clearly state the obvious that the installer splice wires that are similar in color together between the two new harnesses and ignore wires on the Crux harness that will not be needed. Once all the splices were complete, I used Wago splicers, reassembled the Pioneer back in the car it worked as advertised. I had to disassemble the whole unit out of the truck again because I neglected to pull the external USB cable into the cab. This required drilling a discreet hole on the bottom of the instrument trim panel. There was no alert in the instructions that that was necessary. Furthermore, the Crutchfield Master Installation sheet is pretty basic and could use some further improvement. Watching a couple of unassociated videos on YouTube were more instructive than the Crutchfield instructions.
Pros: Worked exactly as stated. Steering wheel controls continue to function like they did with the OEM radio.
Cons: Instructions are vague.

Could use clearer instructions
Crutchfield customer from Alameda, CA on 5/7/2021
2005 Honda Odyssey
I had two issues with this harness. First: the steering wheel control didn't work until calling tech support and "correct" the switch positions (different from their instruction) to make it work. Second: I bought this for my van and it would be very helpful to indicate that for a bigger vehicle like a van, one would need to add extra wires in between the harness and the stereo harness. My mistake to soldered them together and found that the wires are way too short and have to redo and extend the wires.
Pros: Mostly worked
Cons: a couple of issues lead to problems during installation.

Doesn't Work Correctly for 2008 Honda Pilot
Chris from Overland Park, KS on 4/15/2019
2008 Honda Pilot
Did not work properly in my 2008 Honda Pilot. Volume Down button worked extremely sporadically, Volume Up button would sometime zoom the volume all the way up just with one button press. Rewired connections and still didn't work. Crutchfield sent a new Crux interface and wiring. Rewired with new Crux interface with the same behavior. Crutchfield sent a new head unit to try, in case it was the radio but still the same behavior. Eventually they sent an Axxess ASWC-1 controller which works perfectly. I was not happy with the hours I spent troubleshooting this interface, wiring and rewiring. Please note that this review is in regards to the interface, not with Crutchfield, who were extremely helpful in sending new equipment to try with no fuss. If you have a 2008 Honda Pilot, do yourself a favor and use the Axxess ASWC-1 instead, in case the Crux doesn't work in your vehicle either.

works great, but directions are not complete
Keith from Frederick, MD on 7/23/2017
2007 Honda Pilot
Works great and allows usage of steering wheel controls with new unit. I subtracted a star because the instructions omitted a step that caused me to remove the unit after installation to correct some wiring. I used this for 2007 Honda Pilot. There's a blue wire with the antenna adaptor, but the instructions do not provide any information on what it is for or where it should connect. My radio reception was terrible. After some research online, I found that Honda uses an amplified antenna and the blue wire needs to be hooked to a power source. I called Crutchfield for help. They knew what to do and told me exactly how to wire it. Too bad it's not included in the instructions up front. It would have saved me some hassle, but all's well now.
Pros: allows steering wheel controls
Cons: Did not clearly indicate how to wire the power supply for amplified antenna.

This was a first time project for me. Installing the receiver ended up being the easiest part! The wiring package came with clear instructions and proved very straightforward. Crutchfield provided all the information I needed to do a complete overhaul of my car system and everything came out great.

Installed this today on a 2006 Honda Odyssey. Everything works perfect. My complaint or reason not for giving it 5 stars was the instructions were not accurate, I would have preferred and easy plug in adapter but this required me to attach wire after wire to the radio head unit. Some wires said they were not needed but my radio said differently. I followed the radio instructions, will see if I have an issues down the road.

Plug and Play
Michael from Woodbridge VA on 9/26/2016
2007 Honda Odyssey
This little gem made the install painless. The steering wheel control is amazing. It's easy to install just connect the like color wires and you are set! Plug and Play!
Pros: Fit perfectly, easy to use
Cons: You may not need to connect every wire and every plug in the vehicle to the harness.

It works!
Lenny from Parker, CO on 9/10/2016
2006 Honda Odyssey
Connected my Pioneer head unit to my 2006 Honda Odyssey steering wheel controls. Functions as expected but dropped a star because the instructions were disorganized (I suppose so they would fit on a single page) and not suoer clear. Make sure you carefully study the instructions because important information is tucked away in odd corners of the diagrams.

made installation much easier
Steve D from Livingston, MT on 7/27/2016
2008 Honda Ridgeline
Other than a few wires that connect to nothing, this made installation quite easy. My steering wheel controls the Head unit as expected. However, with the Ridgeline, I found that connecting the blue power antenna wire to the red 12 volt wire improved my reception quite a bit.
Pros: Easy installation. Connected right up to my Ridgeline
Cons: Instructions could be a bit more clear for someone has no experience wiring a stereo.

Super easy install
Mark from Melbourne, FL on 7/21/2016
2006 Honda Odyssey
If you read the manual once it's a super easy install. It took around 30 min for me to read and solder the wiring harness together. It was easy to install into the car and the steering wheel controls worked flawlessly.
Pros: Easy to install Steering wheel controls

Wiring interface worked well, with one exception
Len W from houston, TX on 3/21/2016
2003 Honda Pilot
Wiring harness and steering wheel interface went together as promised, except my Honda had two connectors and the harness only has one, so two wires (not sure of their function) cannot connect to my aftermarket radio. Also, the steering wheel interface did not maintain all functions - the Volume buttons work okay, but the AM/FM band button now changes the Source on my Kenwood unit and the Channel button does not function at all. For the price of the harness and the interface, I expected everything to connect and work as it should. At this point, I should have saved my money and gotten the standard harness and skipped the steering wheel interface all together.
Pros: Well made and fairly clear instructions
Cons: Not all functions or wire connections complete or intact

Wiring Harness/Steering wheel control
Jason from North Carolina on 8/30/2015
2007 Honda Odyssey
This harness worked fine with my Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. There was only one inconsistency in one wire that I did have to call tech support about (of course Crutchfield was awesome with tech support!); one striped wire had to go to a non-stripe (this maybe a Pioneer inconsistency - IDK). This wire harness includes steering wheel controls and everything works, but one press of the volume control on the steering wheel pushes two notches of volume on the head unit, so I end up with too loud or too soft music playing. Not really sure this is an interface issue or a problem with the Pioneer AVH-4100NEX head unit. Any advice on this one is appreciated!
Pros: Keep stock steering wheel controls! Wiring up the new head unit was very easy.
Cons: Volume on steering wheel seems to be mis-matched to head unit: One press of volume on steering wheel control pushes two volume units on head unit, resulting in too loud or too soft volume. Admittedly this is a minor issue.

Works Well
Crutchfield customer from North Carolina on 8/11/2015
2006 Honda CRV EX
Installed easily on a Honda CR-V. Labeling made integration of my steering wheel controls easy, and it works very nicely. Well worth it if you want to retain steering wheel control. One possible improvement would be a male-female interface appropriate for both the car and the unit purchased in order to avoid so much wire splicing, which you should be prepared for.
Pros: Easy installation, works well.
Cons: Still needed to perform wire splices for each wire coming from the head unit.

Pleased
Josh from Colorado on 5/26/2015
2007 Honda Odyssey
Connected to Alpine CDE-154BT in a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L. Controls work flawlessly, though there is a fractional delay in the steering wheel controls, which is somewhat expected and not long enough to cause any issues. The installation took a while due to inexperience, but worked the first time. Would buy again.
