About the CRUX SOOGM-15 GM Wiring Interface
You'll only be able to retain your steering wheel audio controls with a compatible car stereo made by Alpine, Blaupunkt, Boss, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Soundstream, or Sony. No other brands are currently compatible.
Replacing the factory radio in many late model GM vehicles means losing the chime that warns the door is open, along with audible safety warnings. Also, your new car stereo will not work with your GM steering wheel audio controls.
The SOOGM-15 GM Class II Data Bus interface from Crux lets you install an aftermarket receiver in these vehicles and keep the door chimes, all audible safety warnings, and OnStar functionality in select GM vehicles. You'll also retain the use of your factory steering wheel controls in most vehicles. The interface also provides Parking Brake, Reverse, and Vehicle Speed Sense output signals.
Connect the SOOGM-15 to the wiring harness on your new car stereo, mount the module in a convenient location, and plug it into the existing factory plug. Get the great sound you want, and keep all important safety features intact. The SOOGM-15 interface works with all GM audio systems, including Premium Bose® . Warranty: 1 year.
Important Note: If you do not use an interface like this when you replace your factory radio, you will disable the audible warning system in your vehicle. Crutchfield cannot provide a free wiring harness for your vehicle, and we strongly recommend that you use the recommended interface when replacing this vehicle's factory radio. Failure to do so may result in serious injury or death.
Installation Note: If your vehicle has a digital BOSE® amplifier (RPO code Y91), you'll lose fader and balance control with the new car stereo. You'll want to set your system's balance and fader controls correctly before installing the new car stereo, as those settings are retained after you've pulled out the old radio.

Features
GM Radio Replacement Interface: The CRUX SOOGM-15 radio replacement interface is designed to allow the installation of an aftermarket radio while retaining functionality of OnStar, Bose Amplified and Non-Amplified Systems, Chime, and Accessory features in a wide range of GM Class II Data bus vehicles. The SOOGM-15 is a versatile and enhanced OnStar retention interface that includes steering wheel control options. It retains a wide range of factory OEM features with aftermarket radios.
- Works with Non-Bose, Bose, Premium Sound, and Y91 amplified radios
- Retains Factory OnStar and steering wheel controls
- 12 Volt Accessory output (4 Amp), including RAP (Retained Accessory Power), keeps the radio powered after the key is off, until the driver door is opened or the OEM timer ends, whichever happens first
- Illumination Output (2A. max)
- Retains safety & warning chimes with volume adjustment
Note: For vehicles with factory Y-91 Bose Premium audio systems, once you have installed the new aftermarket head unit you will no longer have fader control. Make sure that before removing your factory radio, your system's audio is balanced and faded properly. The factory digital amplifiers will remember these settings even after the factory radio is removed and the new aftermarket head unit is installed.
Vehicle Compatibility: The CRUX SOOGM-15 radio replacement interface works with the following 2000-2011 GM vehicles with Class II system.

Plenty of length to connect the wires, door chime is plenty loud, without being too loud, and it's adjustable. Worked great for my 2004 Silverado 2500HD with Bose, and steering wheel controls work great with the Pioneer head I put in. Would buy again.
