Not as good as it could be.

It was not what I expected. I thought it was going to tell me wiring diagrams and all that but it was more like blanket text instructions.

Just bought this new, to me, truck and didn't know how to pull the doors apart without breaking things, and this guide helped with that. It also told me what tools I needed. Living in an apartment, it's inconvenient to walk back and forth from the parking lot to my door to bring the correct tools.

Incomplete set of instructions

I received my vehicle specific installations instructions via email but it was only containing the master sheet with information about the speakers. No actual instructions on how to install the radio.

Very General instructions

The instructions were not vehicle-specific. They do not address the rear door tweeters or the 3 1/2" rear deck speakers. There are no pinouts for these, and I'm not sure of the accuracy of pinouts for any of the other speakers, as the harnesses are different for navigation-equipped vehicles, as well as, Martin Logan 12-speaker cars. I clearly noted my car was a Martin Logan vehicle when I ordered these instructions. I have a 3IS 2017 Lexus IS 350 F sport AWD with Nav and Martin Logan. For the money paid, they could at least supply the pinouts for the rear door tweeters as well as the 3 1/2" rear coaxials.

The amp is part of the system too

This really is an awesome guide, I had to deduct a star because there is not one word about the amplifier in all the instructions. At the end, it mentions the location of the amp and that is literally the only thing mentioned.

Helpful, but could have a bit more info

I am trying to decide what components to purchase and thought this document might help with selecting the right items, mainly the speakers, but I'm a little disappointed the factory items that appear in the photos do not have accompanying dimensions. I know I want a Double - DIN receiver and it's pretty obvious what is there from the document, but the center, front door, rear door, trunk subwoofer and tail door speakers all are photo's but dimensions not listed. I just wanted to know the sizes I'd be replacing when making purchase decisions.

I'm not sure if the website enabled more information after the purchase or if it was always there, but that info is better than the document. On the document the pictures are small and in overly contrasty black and white. Information I was expecting is missing. If the website did enable additional content, I need a way to make that information transferable. I have not verified that yet.

Awesome Vehicle Instructions

I am not a very good mechanic and was reluctant to install a stereo in my Ford Fiesta, the vehicle instructions were out of this world and made it so easy for someone like me to install and had everything working on the first attempt was amazing to me good job Crutchfield.

Detailed and Accurate

I must say I couldn't find anything wrong with the instructions, as much as I tried. Granted, I am not a professional installer but I believe now I learned enough about the system to attempt almost any installation. I wanted to take a star off due to the initial remark of "you cannot replace the receiver in this car or lose the safety alarms" because after 40 years of hearing that, one thinks if anyone could come up with a solution to that it would be Crutchfield. But nothing yet. In any event, I know enough now to try and improve the system in a massive way.

Only helpful for replacing speakers.

The instructions are helpful when replacing the front and rear speakers. That's about it. I wish it included instructions on how to wire a powered subwoofer and/or amp. i.e. suggestions on locations, how to run the power wire from the battery to the rear of the car, how to run the accessory wire and places you can splice into, how to access the rear speaker wires under the panel that is between the front and rear door, etc. I bought this for replacing the stock speakers and it will help with that, but I'm still on my own when I hook up the powered subwoofer.

Mustang Mach E disassembly instructions

These instructions are so very detailed down to the exact tools to use, wiring diagrams, method of removal for each individual part and actual pictures of the step by step procedure. I originally bought this guide to give to a professional installer in case they'd never installed in a Mach E before but after seeing the instructions I decided I could do it myself. Crutchfield saved me $450 in labor fees and made it a snap for me to do it myself! Awesome product and expert advise.

I've been upgrading my car audio ever since I was a kid,going to a local electronics shop and prying my door panels off with a pry bar. A lot has changed over the years,but I have to say that Crutchfield is by far the most comprehensive and detailed company when it comes to do it yourself people. They can save you a ton of dough allowing you to put more $ into components.

Not what I was hoping for...

The radio shown is not what is in my vehicle. It shows door trim panels with hand crank windows which are not even offered. In order to get to the speakers, one needs to know how to remove the switches for the electric windows from the armrests in the door trim panel. I was also expecting more detail about the radio install. The small panel under the radio where the hazard light button and clock are located in the instruction photo does not match my truck either. There is no clock in my 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road in that location. The clock is a function in the radio head unit. Consequently, my confidence in the instructions is reduced.

Master sheet good, wanted more for specific application

The instructions for the removal of the dash components was excellent. I would have wished for more specific instructions related to the way the various electronic components were connected together for my 2008 Mercedes CLK350 with Harmon Kardon autio system.

Annoyed that this has to be mailed??

I bought this guide while in a pinch trying to troubleshoot a friend's installation project. I assumed that, because it is 2024, I would have instant access to a .pdf of this manual e-mailed to me. It seems that my assumption was incorrect, however, as no link was emailed or provided to me. Looks like Crutchfield is actually mailing this guide to me? So this did not help me troubleshoot anything, and by the time it arrives it will be useless. We got the issue figured out on our own, so this was nothing more than money wasted. Crutchfield - if I am incorrect and I DID have access to a .pdf version of this at the time of purchase, I will revise this review, but advise that you need to make the access instructions much more clear. Everything I have ever purchased from you has been great, so this experience was definitely disappointing and unusual.

Worth every penny

Bought the instructions for a Silverado, and I can't begin to explain how helpful these audio instruction sets are. Full color pictures of each panel and screw that has to come off. Well written (and SHORT) instructions that don't leave you feeling like you're trying to pull out the necessary details. Wiring color codes, and different sub-model breakdowns (if there is a difference). If you want to work on your own audio system, I feel like these instructions are an absolute necessity.

Great product and worth the money to buy outright while just planning my car audio build. Color codes for the wiring were not accurate to the 2023 Kona with the "Primium" audio system. Pin locations were correct. Overall it helped a lot with figuring out the what I needed to do.

Fantastic piece of work

Super informative it told me exactly what to do for every speaker. The only thing was the radio tuner for a 10th gen. Honda Civic coupe. Other than that it was fantastic and the amount of detail and instruction.
