So far so good, factory HU

2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid
Major upgrade for a 23 hybrid maverick even just doing a straight swap with no amp And if you intend on adding an amp, dsp, and compact sub in time, great, you still can! Did a pretty comprehensive sound treatment while doing the install, total was about 5.5-6 hours including cleanup. Added the foam stinger rings as well but forgot to take pics
Pros: Sound
Cons: Manufacturers instructions were non existent. Tweeter mounts are junk, very thin plastic, no back straps.

GREAT Sound vs. Factory
Jim from Hillsboro, OR on 5/17/2023
2016 Honda Civic EX-L
The Hertz DSK 170.3 get 5 stars for being such a great upgrade from the factory woofers and tweeters in a 2016 Honda Civic EX-L. These sound significantly better (and for only $200 per set). The biggest challenge is having to "fabricate" a mount for the tweeters (even though the instructions say you will have to fabricate a mount). I cracked one of the tweeter mounting pieces (very disappointing) trying to make things fit, but then used a lot of glue from a hot glue gun. (Crutchfield's or Hertz, if you read this please send me another one!) I also had to cut out some pieces of the supplied woofer mounting brackets to get these 6 3/4" woofers to fit into the mounts. The first door took me an hour and a half trying to figure everything out (instructions not very helpful from Crutchfield's (who I love), nor from the woofer mount or Hertz team). First door was very frustrating. Second door didn't take 45 minutes. But the most important thing when all was installed is that the sound was GREAT! Mounting hardware, brackets and instructions could be a lot better (if I was giving stars for them it would be a 1, but I didn't think it fair to the quality of the sound to bash the product - you need to hear these vs. the factory ones!), but the Hertz DSK 170.3 and Crutchfield's is worth it. I will be ordering another pair to replace my rear deck woofers and tweeters from Crutchfield's next. I will just expect that I will have to fabricate the mounts at some level.
Pros: Greatly improved sound clarity, separation and volume. Crossover is light weight and small.
Cons: Instructions and mounting hardware really need to be improved. Not at normal Crutchfield quality - and my experience with Crutchfield has always been that they are fantastic. I still love Crutchfield, but please improve the instructions and mounting hardware.

Excellent Factory Rwplacment

2021 Ford Bronco Sport
Despite some bad reviews on these speakers, I decided to follow the advice of one reviewer and install these speakers in my 2021 Bronco Sport. I used the stinger foam rings and wow what a difference those made. The speakers work well with the stock stereo and the volume is great. These speakers come with a tweeter that I surfaced mounted on my front doors and together with the stock Ford speakers sound great. I would highly recommend these as a good factory replacement. Thanks Crutchfield for all the "Free" installation accessories as this made the job easy.
Pros: Great Sound, easy to install, good quality materials versus poor factory paper speakers
Cons: None

2018 Toyota Tundra
I installed the Hertz Dieci DSK 170.3 and DCX 130.3 in my 2018 Tundra DC. These speakers fit perfectly in the doors with the Scosche brackets and Metra wiring harnesses that Crutchfield included. I picked up custom brackets for the four dash tweeter locations. When I first installed the speakers I was running them off the factory amp and they sounded just ok. I have a Kenwood DMX907S HU and recently added a Kenwood Excelon X802-5 amplifier. Wow, what a difference adding a proper amplifier makes. The sound is powerful, clean and loud. The Dieci speakers perform really well. I am very happy with the sound from these speakers. I recommend these speakers to anyone looking for crisp, clear sound.
Pros: Good quality, small loud tweeters, clean sound
Cons: None

2020 Honda CRV Hybrid
I installed these into a 2020 Honda CR-V. My CR-V has component speaker in front and rear doors. These are some clean sounding speakers and the Tweeter are crisp. I love the sound. I had to modify the tweets to make them fit because they are smaller but not a problem at all. I used a glue gun.
Pros: They can mount in any vehicle that takes a 6.5 or 6.75. They look great and sound great.
Cons: I wish the tweeters had more mounting options. That's it!

2022 Honda CRV
This are my more expensive speakers I ever have and I they worth every dollar first they very efficient I can literally say the volume feels like is twice or more louder than the factory speakers that they replaced in my 2022 CRV going forward instructions are useless but not hard to figure out the sound definitive it's premium am very impressed how good they sound with the factory head unit without a amplifier I installed without a baffle and then 3 day later installed baffles with about 3x1.5 inches hole in the bottom and foam tape under the bracket mount and around the speaker sound just got better my wife is now happy with the sound, this speaker fits without cutting the inner of the door panel the tweeter fits with a included adapter and some hot glue to hold it in place the tweeter are loud but it can be tuned to you taste on the head unit so am happy and impressed I pair this speaker with hertz 2 way in my rear door and very happy with the outcome I have a subwoofer but I will wait for a better weather to get it installed but in the meantime sounds is great and I can't complain this are my best speaker ever no regrets, am happy with the recommendation and I also recommend this speaker to anyone looking for speakers in this price range.
Pros: Very efficient Very loud compared with factory speakers.
Cons: Poor instructions

2020 GMC Sierra 1500
Surprised at how good these are. The bass and mids are surprising from the woofer. The tweeters are a little bright but with some adjustments sound fantastic. For a budget build these are great. But I do recommend at least a 50watt 4 channel to really push them. They are great.
Pros: Great price and sounds great.
Cons: Recommend an amp to properly push these.

Great Sound at a Resonable Price
Crutchfield customer from Greer, SC on 8/3/2021
2015 Volkswagen Eos
I was very pleasantly surprised at the rich, full sound I get from two sets of these in my 2015 VW Eos. The Kenwood DMX906S head unit got significantly clearer sound and deeper bass from the woofers than the factory speakers, just as my advisor told me they would. When I added an Alpine KTA-450 with 50W RMS per channel, I was blown away by how much more full the sound was. They were definitely a great recommendation as factory speaker upgrades even before adding the amp. With the amp, I am not the least bit envious of Eos owners who have the Dynaudio setup any more!
Pros: - Wider range than other 6-3/4" offerings in their price range - Compact crossover was easy to fit into the door trim.
Cons: - The instructions were useless aside from offering comprehensive measurements - The supplied screws have heads that are a little too small, so the only one side of the speaker bracket was held down (recommend getting screws with larger heads - Slightly concerned about the durability of the cones since these are in a convertible, though they are a few inches behind the grills.

Clear but Treble Heavy
Crutchfield customer from Princeton, MA on 7/8/2021
2018 Toyota Sequoia
I picked these speakers to fit my 2018 (non-JBL, with factory nav) Toyota Sequoia after listening to the modeled speaker comparisons on the Crutchfield website (paired with DSK 130.3 in the back). They 'sounded' so much clearer with better imaging than the limited number of other speakers that fit my car. After a few hours of real listening, I can confidently say that they are very clear and bright. The factory radio in my Sequoia has 3-band EQ. To achieve anywhere near a reasonable balance, I set treble to anywhere from -1 to -5 (almost the minimum) and bass from 0 to +1. The potency in the upper range makes it so much easier to hear vocals (baseball games, music lyrics, audiobooks) but can be a little annoying when listening to music at low volumes and only hearing cymbals. Basically, they would benefit from a -3db pad on the crossover to be more balanced. Also, like everyone who ever replaced a 6x9 with a smaller circular speaker, I wish they had a little more low end. If my factory radio had dynamic loudness adjustment, that would also help (the highs aren't so over-present at higher volumes). Clarity is night and day compared to the factory speaker drivers that effectively have no high end at all. I'm moderately happy with the upgrade but might have to look into amp/sub options. Sigh.
Pros: Clear, Bright
Cons: Needed different wiring adapter to install tweeters in my car (not available on Crutchfield)

I gave it a 3 star rating cause the equipment works great . But the installation instructions were absolutely horrible!! I was expecting a reputable company to put out explicit and easy to follow instructions, but NO, they failed. So the equipment gets a 10 and the company gets a 1.
Pros: Great speakers
Cons: Very Poor instructions

2017 Honda Accord Sport
I installed these speakers on a 2017 Accord Sport with factory stereo. The install was pretty simple--remove the old speakers and pop in the new speakers. The factory speakers were kind of muddy -- decent on the mid range, but weak on the highs and lows. Adding these was a dramatic improvement over the stock--the sound is clearer and louder than before. Mids are good, highs are very loud and clear--maybe even a bit too much. I had to turn down the treble on the head unit to match my liking. Decent low end, but these aren't going to give you the bass of a subwoofer. Overall, a solid choice to give a better, brighter sound to a factory system for a reasonable cost.
Pros: easy to install, good sound
Cons: high end is really bright

Full and bright

I replaced Alpine Type-S coaxial 6.5's with this component set. The Type-S was already pretty bright but the DSK 170's are a little sweeter up top. I used similar settings but tuned it down a little using pink noise. I'm currently running these off of a Pioneer mini amp that is 45x4. It's about half RMS. I'll upgrade my amp eventually. Mid bass is a step up over the Alpines. Mid range is also clearer and more pronounced. The top end is what I love the most. I like it bright but not too harsh. Again, adjusting the EQ helped a lot. I played some favorite tunes, like Devil Inside by INXS which has a wide range of sounds, and Whole Lotta Love which has great vocals and crunchy guitars, a few Bruno Mars songs just because... and Hawaii '78 by Israel Kamakawiw'ole which has nice synths, beautiful ukulele plucking, deep bass drums, and his rich sweet bass voice and falsetto. I'm very happy with these DSK's! I'm considering Hertz coaxial 6x9s. I just wish I got these sooner!
Pros: Full mid range, bright tweeters
Cons: Without equalization tweeters can sound harsh at high volume

Bought hertz because of the popularity in the HD bagger shows. These sound good and we're a good price but still on the higher side. No one had them cheaper. Only 4 stars because I wish the bass was a little more deeper.
Pros: Great customer service and instrhctions
Cons: Little pricy and I wish the bass was more coming out of these.

Hertz Component speaker review

2018 Honda Odyssey
Bought this speaker along with some coaxial for the rear's from Hertz as well. The speaker's are very Bright and seems clear but once you increase volume it becomes quite harsh so i ended up lowering the Treble/Bass/Mid's across the board on my HU unit. I also ended up purchasing audio control unit to help with sound but i had no choice to return. Note: I upgraded to Morel tempo ultra and world difference and sound is balanced and not bright and i also noticed that any Hiss from gain adjustment is less audible by a huge degree.
Pros: Very clear for detail sound
Cons: quite harsh and bright sound as volume goes up. speaker will emit noise where others wont
