Amazing speakers

Disclaimer: I had these Mille Pros along with its coaxial brother in my Crutchfield cart ready to buy. However, I found them at a lower price on-line through Hertz. I decided to go with Hertz speakers after installing the Hertz Diece series (bought through Crutchfield) on my wife's 2019 Chevy Malibu. I fell in love Hertz. I ripped out my KS Kicker system on my 2020 F150 and installed these speakers on the front, along with its coaxial brother on the back doors. All four doors have been sound deadend, and I have a Kicker 8" sub behind the rear seat. I kept the Kicker sub, installed Hertz on the four doors, and tweeters on the "A" pillars. WOW! My sound is extremely clean and punchy. I have the Mille Pros being fed from a Kicker Key 200.4 amp. I have to say that now the Kicker sub is having trouble keeping with the door speakers. I am able to clear details through the tweeters that I did not hear previously. These speakers are not subs! Yet, they produce nice punchy mid low frequencies. They get loud without distortion. Now I'll have to upgrade my sub :)

Disappointed

My review is not on the product. Hertz audio makes amazing world class products. With that being said, what I ordered was "scratch and dent" not USED. What I received was clearly used. If I would have known this before hand I would have purchased from another vendor or waited for Crutchfield to get them in stock. If I wanted them used I would have waited for them come available on FB marketplace or eBay and not spent $541 on them. This experience is not a deal breaker, but maybe include a description of what's scratched or dented on the product in the description.

Hertz MPK 165.3 PRO

I have the Hertz 165.3 pro component speakers in the front doors of my 2015 double cab Tacoma. They are hooked up to the factory radio with the Audiocontrol D-4 800 amp with DSP. Component speakers hooked to 2 channels and 2 channels to 8 inch JL audio sub behind back seat that has 250 watts. Sounds awesome. Very clear with good bass. Also have Audiocontrol acr3 to control bass to subwoofer.

Wonderfully suprised.

Upgraded from infinity 6x9 reference components in a f150. Running them active on an infinity 3004a amp behind a DSR1 dsp. They sounded good before tuning, but once the tune was dialed in OMG. They are almost as good as my Bowers and Wilkins in my living room. Very detailed and articulate highs but not overwhelming and the mid bass is tight yet has a silky smoothness that's hard to describe. I would reccommend doing a good sound treatment to the doors. If you have enough power behind these they will cause sheet metal in the doors to vibrate as well as plastic on the door panels. I'm very impressed and wouldn't reccommend looking at other options unless going 3 way active.

Great audio

I threw these in my Ram Pro master work truck. I get compliments all the time from neighboring drivers on how good they sound. Definitely the best speakers I've ever purchased.

No need to hesitate pulling the trigger on these

I have these Mille pro components running on an audison SR 4.500. They sound AMAZING. I had a JL Slash 300/4 pushing kicker q series in my last ride and as good as they sounded They just don't compare with properly powered Hertz components. Absolutely zero regret spending the $$ on these.

Outstanding!!

I upgraded from the Cento CK165's and am beyond pleased with the sound of these speakers. The mid bass is amazing!

Hertz MPK 165.3 PRO

It took me a month to get these to sound good. Idk if they broke in or I got the DSP adjustment just right, but now they sound amazing. I haven't heard alot of systems, but these are the best speakers I've ever heard. I have them powered with 100 watts by a D-5.1300 amp. They are paired with the coax version of these and a JL 12W6. Expensive, but sounds great. Oh yea I also have a JL fix86 going from my headunit because I have to use the factory stereo in my 2018 accord 2.0t.

I haven't had it installed in my truck yet but I know that the JL audio is a premium speaker. I've listen to in my friends vehicle and it is amazing. I'm actually get an exact same set up that my friend has. I love it in his vehicle I know it'll be awesome and mine no need to stray. I've open the box looked at the product inspected the product and from just the physical aspect of the product you can tell that it is very well-made

Very crisp and clear, came alive after a short break in period. Paired with an Audio Control LC 5-1300. Really looking forward to the results when I have the Audio Control DM-608 DSP installed. Paired with the Hertz Cento series for rear fill and a JL TW3 10" in a custom enclosure under the rear seat in a 2010 Chevy Silverado Ext cab

Make it Hertz so good!!!

These sound amazing!!! I have a Rockford Fosgate T400x4ad running them. The highs are crisp but not to harsh. The mids are very clean and tight. I would highly recommend buying these to anyone. I listen to all kinds of music and they sound great on everything.

Dynamic exciting sound!

These are fantastic speakers. Installed these in the front and the 6.5 MPX coax model in the rear doors of my 2005 4Runner. The combination is pretty amazing. I was surprised with the solid richness of the sound. Using REW software and a calibrated microphone, adding some equalization I can achieve fairly flat response. The sound is dynamic and true - vocals are clear. Highs are crisp but not harsh. The overall sound is truly exciting. There is plenty of bass, but others that like to announce their presence a block away will likely want a sub. On the negative side, one reason I bought these is they have several tweeter mounting options. Well those options are disappointing. I bought an aftermarket bracket for the tweeter install but it was too thick to use so I tossed it. I fabricated a thinner mount out of aluminum but the very poor flush mount clamp would not hold the tweeter securely. I ended up using the thin plastic OEM bracket which I hope will hold up. It is thin and weak and as this SUV does bounce around on back country dirt roads several times a year, I'm hoping those little flimsy things will hold up.

Exceptional

I went out on a limb and decided to try these component speakers. I didnt know much about about Hertz speakers, but a friend said I should give them a try. Did not disappoint. Exceptional sound. The best component speaker I have ever owned.

Excellent speakers

Awesome speakers! I'm still breaking them in and still adjusting settings to my liking. Are they worth the price? Not sure yet. I installed them in my 88 Mustang convertible, not much insulation to fully hear their potential. But I'm working on that. As far as build quality compared to $200, outstanding. I've never seen build quality like these on any speakers.

Great quality, lack mid/lows.

Good, not great. I was hoping for a bit more mid/bass. After adding a pair of JBL GTO930 6x9's (purchased here) I now have a wonderful and complete sound. If you are looking for clear high's, these are your speaker. Just not a full range speaker by any means. I am very please with Crutchfield service, the best!
