Kanto TUK
Pablo Rubin from Jacksonville, IL on 5/23/2023
I listened to music on vintage equipment. I thought I would give a modern system a chance. The speakers are great, along with your staff that helped me decide on them. Also, I wanted to point out I did have an issue with the set . It was not the speakers. I called one of your technicians. He spent around an hour going over every detail he could think of. Unfortunately it was my old tv. He even sent me an optical cable free of charge. Every one of your staff I dealt with were always informative, patient, and kind, and I will do any future electronic business with your company.

Exceptional sound, one gripe is that one of the speaker cones seemed to be mounted off center and I purchased one and the speaker knob is bent and only sometimes functional I was fine with the slight imperfections on the speaker with the volume and menu selection knob but I believe it was dropped and that's how it sustained the slight cosmetic damage but also functional damage.

These Kanto speakers look and sound amazing! I have them set up on my computer desk; games, movies and music sound out of this world! Ive had them for a year and 8 months. I had to send them back to Kanto for a repair and the replaced them with a new pair! Kanto in its self is awesome. I want a sub but not sure what pairs well with these.
Pros: Plenty of options to play around with and sound is so pleasing and enjoyable.
Cons: No HDMI and thats it. Everything else about this set is amazing.

Great for apartments.
Paul from Stillwater, OK on 10/8/2022
In short, these are great but these if you live in a apartment and want big sound on your living room but don't want to piss off your neighbors. It has all of the bass with none of the rumble, great for apartments. In long, I live in an apartment. I bought a svs 10 inch subwoofer because that's why the reddit guides said was best. Reminder, I live in an apartment. I had some Micca Active speakers. It was a good 2.1 system. Only problem the neighbors didn't like my subs. So my 10 inch woofer is sitting in the corner. These Tuks are in my small apartment living room and are an absolute unit. Sometimes the bass hits so hard I preemptively turn it down and wait for a complaint. But no complaints come. I think it's because it doesn't rumble like a woofer does. These speakers are great. Last thing. The convenience of steaming music from my phone to my speakers is great. It's easy to pair. That's what I would say I love most the speakers do a lot and everything they do is just easy. It's Tuks for me all-day, everyday. Great for apartments. And I like there color selection.
Pros: Good bass without a woofer. They get loud. Super easy, no inconveniences.
Cons: You should probably buy the stands.

Impressed
Anthony from Fort Payne, AL on 9/21/2022
I've actually been really impressed with these speakers. I've owned them for about 6 months and use them in my office along with a Definitive Technology Supercube III subwoofer I already owned. I purchased a pair of KEF LS50 Wireless II speakers at the same time as these and I actually prefer the highs of this speaker over the KEF. Overall the KEF sounds better (and it should at that price point), but for the money I don't think the gap in the sound quality is worth the additional money, however I need the wifi connectivity of the KEF speakers. There's really only one drawback to this speaker that I'll post in the Cons section, but overall this has been a great speaker for my office application. When paired with a subwoofer I would not hesitate to use these in a larger space confidently. The sub is needed for full low end sound though. They are a stylish looking speaker with or without the included magnetic speaker covers - I prefer the look with no cover. The Kanto TUK is a good value at the price point for quality audio in a powered speaker and ideal for someone who does not need wifi connectivity, is space constrained, and/or has the ability to use a subwoofer.
Pros: Quality remote control with all the functionality you'd want on it. Sound quality - especially in smaller spaces and paired with a subwoofer. Includes needed cables and they seem to be good quality. Simple setup
Cons: No wifi or ethernet connection - could be a buying factor depending on how you plan to use the speakers.

Kanto TUK
Rob from Louisville, KY on 7/20/2022
My final decision for a powered speaker came down to this and the Klipsch models. I chose the Kanto because of its input options. While lacking HDMI eArc, I didn't need that as I use a soundbar for tv. This has all the audio inputs you would need - phono, USB, optical and two additional legacy inputs. I like crisp highs and boy does this speaker deliver. I did not listen without a sub and this has a nice and easy to use crossover feature - never had a product that does this automatically. Why the one star reduction? It is difficult to know what input you are selecting using the remote as the labeled options are on the front of the active speaker. You should be able to use a remote without having to get up to see which input you are on (I know - first world problem). Also the blue On light can be a distraction.
Pros: Many input options; one-touch crossover activation for subs; crisp highs; headphone input
Cons: Input selection tricky with remote

Kanto TUK
Stephen from Olathe, KS on 6/20/2022
I'm a home chef. Cooking right along side music is a deep seated passion. Listening to the Tuk's in a 12 x 24 combined kitchen/dining space in tandem with the Kanto Sub8 pre 2022 version. I cannot recommend them any more for the price. I use the crossover setting and delegate all the bass duty to the Sub8. Personally, I find myself tweaking the Sub8 volume and Tuk bass/treble settings to suite the source and recording but to great result. Thus far I've been hard pressed to not find a serious audio enthusiasts level of satisfaction of music reproduction with this speaker setup. One caveat, is there is an issue with USB device connection. As reported before, volume control via the remote and the volume know there is a serious glitch. It's either all or nothing. I spoke with Kanto and they refuse to acknowledge the issue. This is what keeps me from a five star review.

Kanto Tuk
Frank from Kings Park, NY on 5/7/2022
First and foremost, I must express my continued delight concerning Crutchfield's customer service. Absolutely the best in the business. Shipping, price guarantee and pleasant phone staff are all excellent. The Kanto Tuks were purchased as a gift for my daughter. Living in a small Manhattan apartment, I thought its flexibility fit the bill perfectly. Still skeptical about fit and finish and sound quality, I first set the speakers up at my place for two weeks listening to music through my computer, bluetooth, my main stereo rig and television. I was very impressed with this little speaker system. For the money, especially at its sale price, I feel one would be hard pressed to purchase a system such as this that sounds this good and made this well. Kanto has a winner in the Tuk.
Pros: flexibility, sound quality, build quality
Cons: maybe more color options would be good. Even if a small upcharge was necessary.

Fantastic Sound that Competes with Surround Sound System
Tim from Vista, CA on 1/30/2022
I was so surprised how good these speakers sound! They actually have great treble and bass that rivals a good complete surround sound system with a subwoofer in all aspects without the need to add a subwoofer. As with all good speakers, you will need to allow for a break-in period that is rather short from my experience, say less than 100 hours. They just keep on getting better. I bought them to augment my complete surround system when I want to save energy during peak demand time from 1600 to 2100 in the evening. They sound just as good to me and saves a tremendous amount of energy in the process. I am very pleased with their super performance and don't even miss my surround sound system while using these speakers watching TV. I keep finding myself preferring to listen to the TV from these speakers rather than my expensive surround system. It isn't that my surround sound system lacks anything, but rather, that these speakers are so good! I could have saved a ton of money getting these speakers if they had been available years ago when I bought my surround system. Just glad to have them now. Don't hesitate even for a second. You won't be sorry.
Pros: Great balanced sound that sounds so realistic that you think you are there!
Cons: None.

Almost great speakers
Mark from Lafayette, CO on 1/20/2022
To fully enjoy these you really need a sub-woofer like the Kanto Sub6 or Sub8. They have plenty of bass themselves but is a bit muddy because they only have basic bass and treble adjustments. There's a setting to turn off their builtin sub to allow them to produce only mids and highs, which compliments the external sub nicely. Bluetooth works, but it's only 4.2. I added a Auris bluMe Pro (via toslink) to my setup and got better Bluetooth sound quality from my FLAC files, than using the builtin Bluetooth. The multiple input connections on the back are nice and makes it easy to connect to your computer directly via USB. These are a solid purchase if you can afford them.
Pros: Sound quality. Multiple input options like USB.
Cons: Basic Bass and Treble adjustments. Bluetooth. Pricey.

I have mine hooked up to USB from my laptop, small tv hooked up to the optical, bluetooth to my phone, RCA to the 3.5mm plug for anything with a 3.5 jack and still have the rca phono Jack's available. The music is so clean and crisp. I listen to music I never used to like, these thingseven make country music sound good. :)
Pros: Very well built, the matching kanto subs are a great option
Cons: Price!

Absolute wonders
Crutchfield customer from Englewood, CO on 11/20/2021
Some of the best speakers I've ever had the pleasure of using. I've been going to Rocky Mountain Audio Festival for quite some time now. And this set of speakers beats out many well above it's price point even without the subwoofer as these have subwoofer output. Position these babies just right in your home for audio enjoyment or studio and you'll be blown away. Easy to tweak to your liking with the remote included if you're not hooking it up to a computer. The only downside to these is if you lose power, the settings reset on the speakers. It also states this is how to clear the memory(by switching them off for 5 minutes) So it's technically a feature so I can't take a star off for that. And they do have a warm up time of a few seconds so if you tweaked your settings to have higher volume. Make sure to give them a second or two before kicking your music on or you may have a loud wake up call. Awesome, waited too long to drop the cash on these. And they've ruined me for any other speaker I have.

Superb All-Round
Patrick from PLANO, TX on 8/4/2021
Connection-wise, the TUKs cover all the bases - they even have a memory function which allows you to store bass/treble settings on a per-source basis - i.e. RCA vs Phono, etc. I listen from a variety of sources (CD, turntable, phone, computer), and these speakers are designed just for that flexibility. I use a stand-alone DAC (Topping E30) to the RCA input for direct streaming rather than the TUK's onboard USB DAC, so I now have an extra 24-bit USB DAC input if needed. Sound-wise, the TUKs are pretty astounding. Compared to the Edifier R1700's I was using previously, the improvement in presence, clarity and power was significant. Yo Yo Ma's cello felt visceral without being overbearing, and the Hallelujah Chorus sounded like the whole orchestra was right there in the room - quite breathtaking. Steve Roach, Beach House, Fleet Foxes, and Herbie Hancock all sounded beautiful through these boxes. These speakers have power in reserve for the home listener, but even at higher volumes, the clarity and detail are preserved. The low-end is full and visceral but balanced with the crystal-clear high-end detail - I could hear wind players' breathing from 10 feet away. The low-end is ample, but as these speakers have a subwoofer output, I figure why not take advantage? In that case, the Active Crossover feature can be enabled to tweak the balance for your room.
Pros: Connectivity Power Clarity/Detail Expandability Price
Cons: None at this price point

TUK + SUB8
Crutchfield customer from Paso Robles, CA on 6/9/2021
Great design. Great sound. TuK + sub8 woofer works well that's to built in TUK crossover circuit that shifts the lower frequency bass from powered TUK speakers to the woofer, boosting the mid to high frequency sounds ever crisper on the TUKs. Sub8 has further adjustments to your liking. Also the TUK remote control bass and treble works well with TUK speakers.
Pros: Quality banana TUK speaker to passive second speaker cable. Rich sound quality. Good adjustments on remote control.
Cons: SUB8 cable just fair. No ground on supplied SUB8 cable, even though the TUK has a ground terminal to use with SUB8 output. SUB8 manual did a poor description on hookup to left or right on SUB8 (should make more clear either left or right can be used)

Excellence in small packages
David from Reno, NV on 4/12/2021
I picked up the Kanto Tuk's on account of Andrew Robinson's youtube review. I decided to go with powered bookshelf speakers opposed to large floor standing speakers on account these are for the Guest Bedroom / workout room and didn't want to take up a large footprint. Kanto packs their speakers extremely well. The setup took five minutes. The sound which comes out of these speakers is AMAZING and the bass is legit and surprising. The speakers are streamlined and well made the connection options are all that you need / minus an HDMI however it doesn't limit. I am very pleased with the quality and sound and would recommend to any novice or experienced Audiophile.
Pros: You pay for what you get and then some. The audio is excellent and options for connectivity is fantastic. The aesthetics are awesome & quality is top notch.
Cons: Would have liked an HDMI port but that doesn't hold back what the Kanto Tuk's audio capability which is excellent.

Pros: Connectivity options for pretty much anything Beautiful design Good bass Very clear highs

Impressive at this price point
Jonathan from Troutville, VA on 2/18/2021
After much debating between these and KEF LSX, the Crutchfield advisor suggested these and after a few days I am super impressed. The look is stellar on the S6 stands, and the black is a super attractive matte/modern finish. Using exclusively as desktop speakers for music while working - I love how the controls through USB interface with the MacBook. Set up, instructions, packaging, remote, all excellent. I have a set of Klipsch the Fives as my HT 2.1 setup - these may give up a bit in bass, but the soundstage is wide and crisp.
Pros: Beautiful, ample connection options, excellent soundstage and imaging
Cons: A bit underwhelming in the low end

FULL Sound
Crutchfield customer from Chadds Ford, PA on 1/17/2021
I love these Kanto Tuks! They're my first powered speakers and I tested several others before making my decision. These included Klipsch Fives and Vanatoos. Both excellent speakers. But there is something fuller about the sound from the Tuks. The AMT tweeters are crystal clear and when paired with the Sub 8, the bass is amazing! I love the sound! My favorite use is watching live musical performances with these. I've even upgraded my streaming service to Tidal Hifi to take full advantage of the sound quality. My entire family notices it. Very happy with my purchase!!
Pros: The remote is high quality and heavy with just the right functions. I love being able to turn off the sub with a push of a button as well as base and treble coontrols.
Cons: Color options would be nice. But I'd have chosen black anyway

Solid value, lots of features
Crutchfield customer from Fredericksburg, VA on 12/20/2020
I'm using these as a TV soundbar via optical. They look great. They sound darn good for the price. Ribbon tweeters (AMT) are simply the best -- for dispersion and accuracy. The best remote I've ever used for ANY equipment, and it includes two separate tone controls for LF and HF -- like having an equalizer built in. (I have HF hearing loss, so this is a great feature.) AND -- final bonus -- it has as 3.5mm jack for headphones. I can use headphones ANYTIME I want, even non-cable shows on Netflix and Amazon. No longer is my headphone OUT limited to the cable box only. SQ improved a little after 2 weeks of heavy use. Recommend good quality stands and Blu Tack. I will likely slip a good quality DAC between the TV and TUKs, to see if sound quality improves. Haven't even tried streaming yet. You probably have to spend about $1.5k more to beat this sound quality significantly -- like the KEF LS50W's -- and their reliability have been a huge issue for owners.
Pros: Great looks/sound, tone controls, headphone jack.
Cons: None for this price.

Pleasantly Surprised!
Crutchfield customer from Aurora, OH on 12/17/2020
I've had countless sets of speakers over the years and wanted to downsize but still have a nice sound experience. After researching several brands like Kanto, Vanatoo t1e, Klipsch "the fives" & Elac I settled on the Kanto TUK. I am very pleased with the sound when coupled with my Paradigm powered sub. Soundstage is decent for the size and they are very clear. However, not as full sounding as my Klipsch towers or Paradigm towers which is to be expected. For the money these are very good. And as a bonus I don't have to have a separate amplifier to find a place for.
Pros: - Able to disable the standby mode so you can access Bluetooth anytime without having to go to the speaker to turn on. - Active crossover so you can direct the base to the sub only. - Kanto has tall floor stands that attach to the bottom so they don't fall off.
Cons: - Hard to see what mode you are in. Just have to select input until you hear something. - Supplied speaker wire plugs stick out to far from back so can't put close to a wall. (Needs a 90degree or spade plugs) - Needs an HDMI Arc to hook to TV.

Fantastic big speakers for my PC desktop setup
Crutchfield customer from Brooklyn, NY on 12/10/2020
Setup is very easy and fast. Just plugged in the USB and let the PC instantly recognized them. Initial sound was a little jarring due to the character of the aluminum woofers, but after a minute I got over the initial difference and really started to enjoy them. For movies/shows sound is so clear and cinematic. I used to use subtitles for speech in shows, but I don't need to with these. FYI I have them on some desktop speaker stands so the tweeters are at ear level sitting. Music sounds great in my small 12ft x 13ft room. Plenty of bass for an apartment (I wouldn't want more, I have neighbors lol). Very detailed and just sounds good. Love how customizable the features are, especially being able to turn down the brightness of the power LED (good for minimalist aesthetic) . The auto-on/off feature was a little annoying at first since there is a second+ delay from when an audio source makes noise (starting a show) and the speakers going on. Also the speakers do make a small ' pop' when they turn on, which is annoying but I can see why. Now I'm used to this behavior and it is easier than my last amp setup where I turned the amp off and on each time. You can get rid of the auto on/off too via settings but I've kept it since it does save power which is good for the environment. Overall I'm thrilled with these.

A great first pair of speakers
Crutchfield customer from Idaho Falls, ID on 11/4/2020
I really like these speakers. Their the first pair of really nice speakers that I have bought. Initially I was very impressed with the sound, and still am. I haven't noticed much change from burn in as I have been using them. The treble can be a little harsh on some songs. This is easy to fix you can change amount of treble with the remote. They have a wide range of different connections making it easy to connect a rage of devices such as an external DAC. The Bluetooth also makes it easy to connect your phone to these speakers.
Pros: Easy to set up Bluetooth Headphone jack makes it easy to switch to listening on a pair of headphones Remote makes it easy to change the bass or treble
Cons: A little pricey Treble can be a little harsh but that can be fixed easily

Wow!
Crutchfield customer from Hillsborough, CA on 9/26/2020
These speakers, together with the sub, are used for a workstation setup and all I can say is WOW. I have them placed about 3 ft from each ear and it feels like I'm being enveloped by rich and clean sound. It's almost like wearing my Bose QC 3.5 headphones. While each speaker is at opposite ends, facing each ear, I perceive sound coming from all angles. Zoom sessions have audio coming from the front, as if I have a center channel speaker. Not sure what sort of wizardry is involved there. This is a HUGE upgrade over my Harmon Kardon Soundsticks. I recommend getting the appropriate level stand so that the tweeter is at ear level. Also, use the USB output to take advantage of the DAC that Kanto has in the TUK. Very very impressed with this product and good value.

Wow! for wireless speakers these really grab you. I was wavering between these and the new Klipsch Fives but when Kanto cut the price it was a no brainer. I really think these are one of the best wireless speakers available. My friend has a pair of KEF LS50's and we both agree these sound every bit as good, for one-third the price. They replaced old soundbar in my bedroom. For a small speaker, they really pack some punch! They also have connections for almost everything!
Pros: Shocking huge Sound. Great Price.
Cons: No HDMI ARC connection.

Best Speakers I've Owned
Crutchfield customer from Los Altos, CA on 7/19/2020
Speakers are beautifully made, precisely packed, and easily 3x the cost in appearance. Loved the hard, dense, inert acrylic-type cabinets. In matte white, they are magnificent in look and feel. Can't afford Wilson Audio or Magico speakers, like me? These are the closest I can come to them, but hard to imagine there is that much of a quality difference in build. Easy to set up and best of all, every possible connector cable is included. A couple of criticisms that may fade over time: (1) Bass is lacking though offset by the AMT driver that's perceptibly fast and effortless sounding. (2) Unclear from the owner's manual if should set the volume on phone and laptop at the highest and then use the supplied Kanto remote to modulate the volume when on Bluetooth. (3) Sound stage sounds a little thin.
Pros: * Beautiful in build, packaging, appearance, and upper frequencies. * As if Apple and Wilson Audio conjoined and birthed an all-in-one audio system * YouTube sounds so much better when beamed through the Tuk's * Easy set up
Cons: * Thin bass * Unclear owner's manual in parts * Depth and breadth of sound stage clear but not overly tremendous

Beyond expectations
Crutchfield customer from Boise, ID on 5/25/2020
It's still early as I've only had these a few weeks, but so far they've exceeded my expectations. The sound stage presented by the Tuks is impressive. They clearly punch above their weight class. Based on other reviews, I was expecting a solid bass response, so I held off on the purchase of a matching subwoofer and based on my experience thus far, I will continue to defer this purchase as the base Tuks do indeed deliver. The usability of the tiny source LEDs on front is poor, but it's mainly a question of learning which LED is which. I wouldn't have Kanto change this and impair the aesthetics. I do appreciate the attention to detail by Kanto building in multiple levels of LED dimming - a feature I wish others would copy. The only thing I haven't tested is the phono stage preamp. Yet. All else is great!
Pros: Outstanding, room filling sound with outsized base response. Versatile, multi-source inputs.
Cons: None so far.

Really gorgeous and great sound. Handle rock, indie, folk, vocal, piano beautifully. Separation and definition of more complex symphonic could be better, but I'll take that more as limitation of a bookshelf speaker compared to elite floor-standing speaker. Highly recommend these, especially for the price. Was thinking of KEF LS50 wireless, but at $2500 vs $800 for the TUK I was wondering how stupendous they could be to justify triple the price.

Best pair of speakers I've owned.... almost.
Crutchfield customer from Lansing, MI on 12/8/2019
After about a month of owning these, I'd say the sound these speakers produce, along with the features and design is quite astonishing. But it's not without a flaw(Although it's possible I have a bad pair), every so often I have to factory reset my speakers, otherwise they just make a scary pop noise and they stop working. Great speakers, just an annoying issue I have to deal with now and then, which is quite disappointing consider the price I paid. Was hopeful it would go away after messing around with them for a while, but nothing works, not even turning of the APU and APD off fixes it. I just hope the issue doesn't ruin my speakers In the long run.
Pros: Sound Features (active crossover is my favorite) Automatic power on/off Inputs
Cons: None (If I just have a bad pair)?

Impressive but flawed for certain types of music
Crutchfield customer from Tarpon Spgs, FL on 10/13/2019
Brought the Tuks in because I needed to fit something inside a new , 9 foot wide, wall unit instead of having my existing floor standing speakers sitting beside the unit. (It's an interior design thing.) Not an optimal situation from a sonic perspective, but we have to make some sacrifices for a new home. The Tuks worked as advertised, with plenty of power and solid base. The problem is that compared to my reference speakers, $500 20+ year old Paradigm towers, the sound is - how to say this? - "lifeless". The Paradigms display a resonance that makes music alive. The Tuks lack this musical quality. On selected music, vocal elements almost disappeared. Guitars sounded muted. Treble was a bit harsh right out of the box. Turning it down a little made the speakers easier to listen to but did nothing for the missing sound. There is a nice smoothness to the sound of the Tuks and plenty of base considering their size. I expect for certain types of music they will do fine. I listen to a fair amount of acoustic guitar, which is one area where the instrumental resonance issues arises. Called Kanto to discuss possible break-in issues, but they said the speakers would not change significantly with use. Tuks going back. Will replace them with B&W 606s. Keeping my fingers crossed...
Pros: Can fill a medium sized, high ceiling room with solid, smooth sound. Significant, clean base. Laid back character.
Cons: Treble is harsh out of the box. Sound lack a "musical" character. Certain sonic elements get "lost" compared to reference speakers.

Sweet sounding little speakers
Mh from Glen Burnie, MD on 9/6/2019
This speaker has a transparency about it and it's really accurate. The speakers were surprisingly quick when it came to the low frequency and the AMT tweeter is very smooth it can cover the full spectrum of different styles of music while hitting all those sweet notes.
Pros: All in one package.
Cons: Non at this time.
