GoldenEar SuperSub X
Randy Thomas from LAKE CITY, FL on 5/2/2025
My first concern was would it be big enough for my room. Its not a theater but its a decent sized space because the open floor plan goes into kitchen and dining room and living room ceiling is vaulted. Make no mistake it fills the space perfectly but more importantly is blends in with my wharfedale evo tower speakers quite well. Music, movies, TV it honestly doesn't matter its perfect with everything. Now if you require your entire house to rumble and shake with fear then maybe you could say get something bigger but if you want a strong bass presence that fits you setup I strongly reccomend this sub.

Precision and authority
Alexander from ABINGDON, MD on 12/8/2024
Tightest bass I've ever heard from a sub with the power to fill most spaces. Great low end extension and rumble for movies while still being musical when listening to anything from country to rap. Blended with my elac towers perfectly.Highly recommended if you don't have to fill a huge room and have the money to spend.
Pros: Tight and loud bass, great build quality.
Cons: Would like more control (maybe an app like SVS has), frequency response listed on Crutchfield is not anechoic, look on golden ear's site for that.

This is a very potent subwoofer, especially considering it's compact size. For me it replaced an SVS SB1000 Pro sub which just couldn't deliver in my difficult room. The SuperSub X is placed against a wall but out from the corner, as recommended by the owner's manual. The left RCA input acts as an LFE input, and that's how it's connected to my pre-amp. I have Focal Aria 936's, and they match well with the tight, powerful bass of the SuperSub X. I only have one of these subs and that's all that I need in my medium to large size room. It also looks great, and it came triple-boxed from Crutchfield. I highly recommend this subwoofer.
Pros: Superb bass, cabinet doesn't vibrate, compact size.
Cons: None at this price.

GoldenEar SuperSub X
Matt from Unnion, OH on 9/30/2022
This subwoofer rivals subs twice its size. The inertially balanced sub extends the bass way outside of the cabinet. In some instances a second sub isn't necessary because there are no standing waves. Two SSX's will take care of almost any home theater. These paired with the in-wall speakers are a fantastic combo when setting up a "transparent" theater. I would highly recommend any GoldenEar product because Sandy Gross and his team have done a fantastic job with balancing imaging and a smooth sound. I have all GoldenEar products in my home and would recommend any of their products.
Pros: Deep low bass, smooth rolloff, inertially balanced, powerful, small form factor.
Cons: For the size, I can't think of any.

GoldenEar SuperSub X

This sub replaces my Goldenear Force4 ( my son was happy to inherit!) to complement my recent addition of my BRX's. It's look and finish is awesome; a smaller floor footprint than my F4 but, what a sound! A nice full, natural, room filling lower end! It's connected to my Bluesound Powernode Gen3, in a 275sq ft room. Very happy with the upgrade! A great sub!

Simply amazing. Musical, tight, deep bass.
Zhe from ASHBURN, VA on 6/9/2021
Zero cabinet resonance even with high outputs because of the ingenious design. Deep, tight bass with good controls. I was surprised that my hand couldn't feel a thing on the subwoofer while deep bass filled the room. I was skeptical when a youtuber balanced a coin on the SuperSub when playing loud bass. Now I am convinced. If you look for accurate bass for Hi-Fi / home theater applications, looks no further. Kudos from me to GoldenEar engineers!
Pros: Zero cabinet resonance Tight, accurate bass Compact size.
Cons: It would be nice to have a phase knob on the back.
