I don't understand why I have to keep the volume knob at 10 or 11 to get enough sound for my small listening room. My previus set up, a vintage Marantz as a pre and a 50W Emotiva amp has more sound and oomph at 8 before it got too loud. Only thing that this Rotel does better is bass. I really want to like and keep this unit, but at this point, I don't think I will. I bought it to improve on what I was using before, not to have to compromise. I guess not all 50W are created equally.

Pros: Nice looking, very easy to set up and good bass.

Cons: Sounds like a 10 or 20W unit, not the 50 it's supposed to be

Our issue not Rotel

I've had a Rotel integrated amp since 1995 so my first choice was a new one. I thought this model was enough for our needs but turned out to be a little underpowered for needs I decided to purchase a more powerful amp. The A10 would be an excellent choice for a small room and the Rotel sound would definitely be pleasing.

Pros: Excellent choice for small room Superb sound

Cons: Not for large spaces

Perfect integrated amp for my bookshelf speakers in the office. It sounds great, didn't have too many connections or options I didn't need, and all of the music I've listened to sounds great. I'm really happy with my purchase and will definitely buy Rotel in the future.

Pros: Perfect balance of features and power, sounds great, fair price for what you get

I highly recommend this unit for vinyl over the A11MKII if not needing digital, same unit for much less. Totally blown away of sound clarity, and love the simplicity of the Rotel. Crutchfield's transaction was smooth, fast and highly recommend the scratch /dent section.

Simplicity and Quality Prioritized

LiquidSmote from Somewhereville on 9/3/2024

Verified employee review (What's this?)

Context for Pros and Cons: -I needed something easy to use for a common room to replace an extremely complicated rack of equipment. -Every receiver I've ever owned has died some random crazy death immediately outside of warranty. -Priorities in order: Simple operation and connectivity, build quality, anticipated durability, sound quality, aesthetics - Esoteric collection of preamps, power amps, monoblocs, and tube integrateds ranging from 5W - 400W are my comparisons Overall Opinion: That'll do Donkey. That'll do.

Pros: - Simple to install and operate - Selectable auto-shutdown - 62W @ 4ohms / 50W @ 8ohms is plenty of power - Sounds better than a typical receiver -Easy going and laid-back sound that trades off dynamics, detail and sound-stage for a more relaxed listening experience that can be very appealing - This should be very reliable with: 0 screens, 0 digital interfaces, a single-sided PCB, and construction reminiscent of the best 198x had to offer

Cons: - No pre-outs for subwoofers, external power amps, etc... - Motorized volume pot is SLOW! - SO says remote is straight from the '80s and unnecessarily chonky - Rotel seems to trade off detail, dynamics, and sound-stage for a more rounded and direct listening experience that many will love, but may also disappoint. Very subjective!

Overall I'm impressed. My Polk T-50s sounds fantastic however don't expect to drive a large speaker. I'm using the ortofon red ,my vinyl never sounded better. The WiiM pro also sounds great. I ordered scratch and dent. Not a blemish on it. Saved $$$. Sometimes less is better.(Wattage) Got some ?? on the way.

Pros: Clean clear sound. Simple controls. Led on vol knob visible from a distance. (See volume level) Great value.

Cons: Will not drive large speakers.

Just what I was looking for as part of a downsizing plan that involves replacing a dead 100 W Onkyo AV receiver and shedding my subwoofer. Sounds great - clean and uncolored. It performs well at lower volumes, especially with a little help from the old-school tone controls. I can't speak to the phono stage because I'm using an existing pre-amp on Aux. Highly recommended and great quality for the price.

Rotel A10 MKII

Stephen from SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT on 6/17/2024

Out of the box, the amp was a tad bright, but performance settled down after a week or so of extended play into a much more neutral sound. Sound is revealing and engaging.

Pros: Front panel has tone controls which I use to adjust for inherent compromises many affordable bookshelf speakers have. Used solely for CD playback with digital stream feeding legacy DAC via coax cable. No DAC is a plus for me because owner can choose whatever they feel is best from a plethora of choices at many price points. 5 year warranty demonstrates Rotel's confidence in the design and parts used which hopefully translates into many years of trouble-free listening.

Cons: An abundance of holes on the top tells you this amp needs to dissipate heat. Placement details provided in the owner's manual offer more specifics that prospective buyers should review.

I wanted a small format amplifier to match with my Elac bookshelf speaker and Yamaha CD player for our den . Fits perfect in the space we have and sounds excellent with the speakers and CD player. First new amplifier I've bought in 40 years ! This replaced a 1970's Kenwood receiver that finally gave up the ghost ! The Rotel still has the warm sound of the Kenwood with great definition through the Elac reference speakers. Admittedly we generally listen at a moderate sound level but the amp and speakers are paired well with no audible signs of clipping or breakup at high volume

Pros: Great for the space we're using it in and pairs well to the speakers and Yamaha s303 cd player

Cons: None for me

Puzzling

Victor from Hattiesburg, MS on 4/29/2024

Verified employee review (What's this?)

A very nice piece of kit. Fit and finish are excellent, attractive design, solid feel, easy to use, simplicity in form and function. However, attempts at driving vintage speakers of varying designs, Dynaco A25, Large Advent, Advent 3, and Spendor SP2, all fell flat. Sonically that is. It seemed under-powered and lacking solid bass, treble, and anything resembling dynamics. Disappointing as a stale cracker. Thinking my vintage ears could be the problem, I pulled out an 18 watt/channel receiver from 1978 - the speakers came alive. Score should actually be 5 stars for appearance and 2 for sound. I was hoping to find reasonably priced modern electronics to replace my aging gear; this may not be an easy task.

Pros: Great looking and excellent design and build quality.

Cons: Constricted, flat sound. Underpowered.

Verified employee review (What's this?)

Great sound. Nice imaging/soundstage. Coming from NAD320BEE so maybe its not a huge improvement but after A/B I think this Rotel is better. Plenty of power- I don't have particularly efficient speakers (maybe 89 DB) and a modest sized living room (15x18) and this gets plenty loud. Its paired with a WIIM Pro plus. haven't tried the phono stage. Crutchfield customer service is excellent.

Pros: - auto shutoff is nice - volume knob has plenty of travel for minute adjustments - power - clean

Cons: - wish the EQ had a little more throw (10 DB and not 6DB)

i've been wanting a simple, old-school analog only amplifier for awhile, and after looking at different options and waiting in vain for a product that's been on backorder for months now, I decided to try out this Rotel. And I am very glad that I did, because this is an excellent product. Music is more detailed and has a more natural sound and feel, for example string instruments have more texture to them. Soundstage has more depth, and while bass extension is the same as my previous amp, it is also cleaner and has more impact. I like having the tone and balance controls, and the unit has a simple design and nice looking appearance. It runs efficiently also, after an hour or more of listening at moderate volumes it is only slightly warm to the touch. I am very happy with this purchase; only regret is I didn't get it sooner.

Pros: Fantastic sound, simple old-school design.

Cons: I didn't buy it sooner.

Rotel put the emphasis on sound quality rather than features (that I never use) in this amp. My speakers have never sounded so good. I would recommend this amp to anyone who just wants excellent sound and not a lot of bells and whistles.

Pros: Excellent sound, solid build quality, great "vintage" look

Cons: None

Nice little package. Mainly using the phono connection to play records. Replacement for a vintage Pioneer amp from the seventies that was starting to get scratchy sounding when controlling volume. Loved the vintage Pioneer but wanted something new that I should not have to worry about again for a while. Phono connection seems decent but don't have an external phono preamp to compare it to. May try an external phono preamp to see how it compares with the internal one in this amp.

Pros: Small package with decent power.

Cons: None that I can think of yet.
