Purchased in and used since July 2022. 40K+ miles of usage. Pros: Not one ticket yet and I consistently drive 20-30+ over the limit on highways. Excellent KA performance. GPS function works well to isolate fixed K sources that are repetitively passed. Although it still annoyingly chirps once. The mount works great and extra mounts for our other vehicles were reasonably priced. Silence buttons on both the detector and the plug. Cons: Weak build quality of the power input jack leading to loss of power (and no warning chirp when power is lost). This became evident shortly after the warranty period expired. Overly sensitive to K (seemingly Honda) and GATSO (seemingly Kia/Hyundai) proximity sensors. VERY short notice for LASER (although this impression is based on only one encounter). This is a good unit and I would consider buying it again while comparing it against others but there remains room for improvement.

It works! I like that it detects the latest freqs - cameras, lasers, Gaston, MCRD. On the open highway, It detected a threat about 3 miles out! The different font colors to choose from, and for alerts is a very hand feature. GPS works without a phone! And if you need to upgrade it, you can use your PC or an Android. I got my windshield tinted, so its on my dash temporarily with double sided sticky pads. And it stil works. Thanks Crutchfield advisors too. P.S. - Found out I can run this detector (since its USB-C 5v) off my cellphone charging battery pack!
Pros: Long range detection and latest freq detection. The voice is cool.
Cons: None at this time.

Not a good fit

After reviewing a few posted field tests, I gave this unit a fair chance but it kept on going off more than my older Passport 9500ix. I returned it and I am still on the hunt for a better unit.
Pros: Good display read out.
Cons: Too many alarms

The Best

I have uniden R7 and V2 and this DS1 makes both look archaic. Magnetic ?? windshield mount very nice. Only wish arrows.
