Hot sporadic garbage

I bought this amp the matching Alpine 4-channel (KTA-30FW) to install in my '03 Silverado. After dozens of hours messing with them, I was never able to get a consistent sound out of either of them. They would work once, then I'd go on to something for a few minutes only to come back to test again and I'd get nothing or it would go into a protect loop. My power was going straight to my battery and the inputs and outputs otherwise tested perfectly with my shop amp. These amps were just very unreliable straight out of the box. Unfortunately, I'd had them longer then the 60 day return policy, so Crutchfield isn't obligated to take them back. Alpine might be able to replace them via the 1 year warranty, but my confidence in shot with these amps and, even if they send me a working unit, I'd be paranoid as crap that it would go out again and I'd have to tear apart my center console to get to it again, so I'm dumping them, counting a loss, and going another route. I used to think Alpine was good stuff, but these amps may have ruined it for me.

Compact to fit and power to boost is A game!

Wow, Jeepers, and others, this is for you if you're needing serious boost of power and compact design. My good friend and installer at Best Buy was shocked over the power and was able to mount it perfectly behind the stereo inside the dash instead of under the driver seat. It's boosting only my Alpine 10inch sub under the passenger seat that is custom for JK and JKU which I highly recommend! My unit is the Alpine Ix 11inch floater and this combo is just over the top for my Jeep. Easy to install, you will need the wiring harness that Crutchfield offers and is A game in just that, also a 10gauge wire to battery and I did marine grade rca to sub since I'm in a jeep and off-road. This is compact and boosts the power ( I have it set on 2! stereo bass is flat and still rumbles. If you need louder or more power, then you're heading to competition or something lol. Down the road, tops off Jeep and music cranked with bass to vibrate your butt? right here. :) I didn't add picture because my installer put it behind my stereo mount in the dash, that's how compact it is.

Not impressed. Sent the 1st one back because I thought it was defective. Now I'm stuck with an amp I will never use. Very disappointed Alpine. I expect quality from you and this was not it

Pros: Small and compact

Cons: Not enough power for a sub

I wish this had a light for when it is on. My battery is draining and I don't know if co-incidence or if this unit is staying on. The size is great and I like the harness with the exception of 4 speaker leads. The manual says to not connect the leads together and is confusing which to use for a single subwooofer. I have a 2 ohm sub but not confident I am getting the most out of this amp because of the lack of information on how to wire for correct resistance. I've contacted Alpine and Crutchfield which advised me to only connect one set of speaker leads. The power has a black box that I wish wasn't there. I'm guessing its a fuse but not sure. I bet I could cut it out and move it to a more convenient spot but something to consider if you are trying to mount this amp in a specific place. For me, i wanted it under my rear seats so the can fold down, but this black box is kinda making it hard to mount it where I want. Also the power output to my sub (Alpine SBV-10-WRA) is not as good as I would have thought and my gains are at near max. I have a 8 awg amp kit with quality RCAs so I'm not sure if it is signal, poor ground or what. Wish I had another amp to test it against.

Pros: Small, weather sealed, harness type disconnect

Cons: no on light, 4 speaker wires for a mono block? black box on power makes the installation a bit challenging as you have to consider this protrusion 3" away from where your amp will be mounted.

plenty of power for the SBV-10-WRA, water resistant and rugged perfect for the hidden storage compartment of my 2016 wrangler unlimited (which gets drenched, and hammered by rough trails)
