If I ever have to remove the HU this unit, getting it out will be a challenge. Took a little bit to get the sleeve to properly attach to the HU and face plate

It's a sleeve and it holds it. Lost of one star because it doesn't come with the removal keys. When you're trying to fit everything together and make sure everything goes in smoothly. I usually put the radio in and out several times during the install

The was the ideal way to install my Alpine ILX-F309 in my R8. Fit great and the price was right. To the previous review re: it not fitting tight you just have to push in the locking tabs on the sides prior to sliding the head unit in to more securely hold it.
