Great System Overall

Tom from Gilbert AZ on 4/28/2025

Great product, the tones are crisp, clean and gives a huge boost to the factory sound overall. The installation is not easy, set aside at least 6 hours, but the instructions were laid out well. The one detractor is the whole under the seat setup, you loose food space in the back seat and I expected a lot more bass out of that powered sub. There was an out of box issue, that the Crutchfield team jumped on and resolved immediately, kudos to them.

Pros: Great sounding highs and mids

Cons: Not a lot of bass from the powered sub.

Greats sound

Great sound, takes some time to install but to me was with it. It does come with factory presets for better sound and has instructions in how to set it for your specific vehicle but I would suggest set the amp settings to your likes before placing the seat on. I had to repeat the process couple of times.

Pros: Can't go wrong with Alpine

Cons: Instructions are very general, in some steps I had to research how to or look on YouTube. It has a ground noise when I first turn on the vehicle, called support but wasn't much help, told me to try different ground but still has the same issue.

Great system! Would only recommend swapping out the tweeters for the Quadratecs super tweeters - it transforms the system drastically to have more clear and crisp highs.

Pros: Plug and play, easy to fit and install, no wiring cutting shenanigans

Cons: Sub seat bracket needs to be bent to work properly

2021 Jeep JLU - System is a great value, buy it!

Overall a great value. I have installed custom stereos in many of my cars in the past, it can get involved with all the available choices and trying to match components etc. I wanted simple this time - this Alpine system was perfect. Although I was a little apprehensive about buying this kit because usually kits have something missing or that needs added. Not the case with this one - everything needed to do an easy plug & play install was included. It took about 7 hrs or so to completely install, watched a few videos to help. Most time spent is taking apart the Wrangler dash for the lower speaker pods. Just be careful and pay attention that all the clips come out and are accounted for before reassembling. For the rear soundbar speakers I used a utility knife to cut the sound bar, the plastic cuts pretty easy. Watch how the power wire from the battery, keep away from the exhaust - follow the factory wiring harness. As far as set-up, a few of the other reviews here mention adjusting the gains on the sub & amp. Yes, on my 2021 Wrangler JLU with 7" radio I had to adjust the gains, otherwise there was speaker popping ( amp being overdriven) at volume level 18. I adjusted the amp gains to the minimum & the subwoofer amp to about max. This resulted in a good balance of the sub & speakers with no popping up to the max volume on the radio. 1 tip - remount the 4 ch amp 180 degrees, this allows easy access to the gains. This system is clean & huge improvement over stock.

Pros: Nice clean sound (see Cons) Plug & play, easy install for a novice or pro. Everything needed is included. Sounds great - well balanced with minimal tuning

Cons: System will need some tuning in most cases - the amplifier gain settings in the instructions are off a bit out of the box. If you are thinking your going to blow the doors off with bass from an 8" sub look else ware.

Product is great. Sounds way better than the factory setup. I did hire someone to install and their feedback was that it was time consuming as they had to remove the dash.

Pros: Sounds great

Cons: Difficult install

Installed the system. The front tweeters pop when the volume is elevated. I had to turn down the gain on the amp. You cannot run the amp with the recommended factory settings. I will contact Crutchfield for a resolution as this is unacceptable from a system that is supposed to be tuned from the factory for the exact application. When it is fixed I will update. Other than the popping from the tweeters is does sound good. Thanks

Really Good System

Eric from Brick, NJ on 5/8/2023

Verified employee review (What's this?)

This is a great upgrade for the stock headunit, what I have. Sound is great but don't expect deep booming base from this system. Only so much an 8" woofer in a small box can do. Install wasn't too difficult with the wiring kit and instructions but cutting the sound bar speaker ports aren't fun. Overall, the system is really good and well worth the money.

Pros: Well thought out and clear instructions with great quality.

Cons: Installation in sound bar is a pain. Make sure you turn up gains on sub (3 oclock for me) and turn down gains for the front and rear amp (9 oclock for me).

THE fix for an average OEM stereo in your Jeep!

Rick from Goddard, KS on 4/18/2023

Verified employee review (What's this?)

If you have the lower end stereo system in your Jeep or Gladiator, and think the sound is not quite good enough, this is your fix! While I didn't buy a Jeep for the stereo system, the stock system is just "ok" if the roof and doors are on. But as you probably know, when the roof and or doors off, the wind noise at highway speeds is pretty substantial. This system easily overpowers that with clean and clear sound. It wont knock your socks off but is a substantial improvement especially in the bass frequencies. Not thunderous but pretty darn good. The components all seem to be high quality and the supplied wire harnesses make the install seamless and fairly straightforward. Everything fit like it was supposed to. For me, the instructions were good, but lacked in some areas. That said, I haven't installed a stereo in a car for probably 30 years. I am sure a professional installer would inherently know the unclear / unsaid parts of the instructions. Luckily in todays world, there are several on-line videos that are VERY helpful to fill in the blanks. In fact, I would recommend watching several before you even start the install. Will save you some serious time. Total install time for me was about 7 hours. But had I turned to on-line video help earlier, it probably would have been around 5-6. Spent an hour or two scratching my head! Love it so far! Would highly recommend this system.

Pros: Quality Components. Seamless integration to OEM head unit. Good Bass. Components all fit perfectly.

Cons: Instructions good... not great.

Totally Awesome!

I usually don't leave reviews, but after my experience with installing this system thought I would share some helpful information. First of all, if your on the fence about purchasing, I would highly recommend if you have the money to spend. These speakers put out clean highs and seem to sound even better turned up! The bass isn't earth shattering, but great for what size it is. Now for the helpful part: In order to save some time and headache on the knee panel speakers, DO remove the grab bar and that little panel behind it to reach screws otherwise you will struggle with that step. The rear soundbar speaker holes can be cut with a box-knife rather than use a saw or Dremel tool. Just use both hands to firmly press the blade through the thin plastic following the template line. Goes way quicker than trying to use a saw. Took me 15 minutes to cut both holes. Can also use some Dynamat before putting in polyfill sheets to reduce vibration of plastic housing. The last review was right about the gain settings on the amp and sub. Turn the gains to Min on both front and rears and turn the sub gain to around the Max level, otherwise you'll be removing the seat again to adjust. The seat was probably the biggest PAIN to remove because of the reverse Jeep Torx bolts. Use a proper reverse Torx socket and NOT a 10mm, or you'll strip it out. Most importantly, just take your time and have plenty of patience! There a couple of helpful videos online.

Pros: Sounds awesome even at high volume. And fast shipping from Crutchfield to Hawaii!

Cons: Some steps not detailed by Alpine. Gains on amp and sub could be better detailed for Jeep Gladiator.

Sound is WAY better than stock. Install was clear just really pay attention and read. Sub bracket could have been made to fit better in a gladiator but it works. Had to do a mod or two to it. Crutchfield customer service tech was fantastic.

Pros: Great sound over stock. Crutchfield customer service tech was on point.

Cons: Sub mounting bracket required modification.

Verified employee review (What's this?)

The Review from Amber on 5/12/2022 was perfect. I also had to turn the gains down on the small amp to keep the speakers from making a pop at high volume. Over all it is a simple plug and play that took me 7 hours to install. The sound is very good and what you would expect from Alpine but its not real loud if that is what you are looking for. For the price I think it could have been a little better but it was simple. I'm sure you could choose all the speakers yourself and even get a nice deck to match and have a better system but the plug and play makes it nice.

Pros: Plug and play and very good instructions. Great sound

Cons: Once you install there is no turning back. You have to cut up your sound bar and after that you really can't return the system. Not as loud as expected.

Great package

This package did exactly what they claim , the system added the bass and high freq that was needed. The system was made to be plug and play. The hardest part was to remove the entire dash on the jeep to install the front lower speakers. Total time was about 6 hours I feel it was certainly worth the money as a local shop wanted to charge me double for an equal system installed. Very happy with the purchase

Pros: Plug and play

Cons: Jeep design of front dash

Excellent sound. I'm keeping my original factory head unit (far now), but this system sounds great. Sharp highs, good bass. Installation was straight forward, between the Crutchfield instructions and watching you tube there where no surprises. It would be hard to do this in one day, I did the overhead sound bar speaker in a couple of hours, pretty easy. Next day I did the rest, about 8 hours. The only issue I had was the radio would not turn off.the instructions say to disconnect the negative lead from battery.take one extra step and disconnect the aux battery also. The Aux ground is also attached to the main battery ground post, so even though you're disconnected, you still have power from aux. you have to separate the 2 grounds. I spoke with the Crutchfield tech support and he said not disconnecting the ground causes the data stream to get confused (those pesky binary 1's and 0's). Once that was done everything worked great..

Pros: Great sound improvement

Cons: Install can be tricky. Sometimes you need three hands..

Great system but needs readjusted from factory settings

Amber from Theodore, AL on 5/12/2022

Verified employee review (What's this?)

Overall the system is great. Excellent quality and sound. The only negative review I have is in the suggested settings on the Amp and sub. In my 2021 jeep wrangler with the factory radio, the settings cause the cabin speakers to pop at high volumes. I was able to remedy this by turning the gains on the front and rear speakers to their lowest settings. I also had to turn the levels on the sub all the way up to achieve a clean bass signal. All in all it is an outstanding system at a reasonable price.

Pros: Great quality and sound.

Cons: Factory settings off for peak performance.

Sounds really amazing, the wiring is very easy. I am a novice and wanted to take my time with the install. A couple tricky parts but nothing crazy just tight spaces and aligning panels correctly. Pros: plug n play wiring, great sound, good price for what you get Cons: lacks deep low bass (but that is expected with no big sub), slight white noise coming from overhead bar speakers, rattles coming from bar now with stronger sound

Pros:

Cons:
