Perfect for adding DSP processor

Del from Bainbridge Is, WA on 3/16/2025

2023 Dodge Challenger

Verified employee review (What's this?)

Used with my 2023 Dodge Challenger, with the base (Premium I) stereo system. (It has the 276W amp near the parking brake, no center dash speaker, only the basic rear panel speakers, no sub.) I used this harness to interrupt the signal that carries the head unit's L&R Rear audio channels to the amplifier, so that I could route that audio through a DSP processor prior to the car amplifier. That audio signal is not affected by the volume control, and also not affected by the EQ settings, so perfect for routing to a DSP processor. (Note that the head unit's L&R Front audio carries no sound. The amplifier creates the 4 speaker output channels, as well as implementing the volume and Bass/Mid/Treble settings.) Note that the wiring harness has stickers identifying the wires. Do not rely on this. Get the Audio/Speaker wiring diagram from Dodge or online. See the attached figure showing the backside of the amplifier's connectors.

Pros: Works perfectly

Cons: Some wires mis-labled for a 2023 Dodge Challenger w/ Premium I system.

I purchased this for my 2014 Fiat with the Beats system. The previous owner had installed an aftermarket radio and had cut the OE wire harness. From the pictures, this harness looked like it would work with the Fiat OEM radio, however it did not. Crutchfield was gracious enough to issue a refund.

Pros: No splicing factory harness.

2011 Dodge Durango with Alpine Premium

Definitely is a plug and play item very easy to do. I would say just read over the instructions and maybe even call Crutchfield or PAC if you have any questions about the install. On that note I have a 2011 Dodge Durango with the Alpine premium sound system. The center channel is actually your sub woofer 2 wires. Connect them together and you will get your center channel.

Pros: Easy to use ...

Cons: Had to find which wire was actually my center channel wire which end up being the subwoofer 2 wires.

Everything worked fine for Front Dash and Front Door speakers hooked up to aftermarket amp. However the rear speaker wires were color coded wrong. Had to use Center channel and Sub 1 to make rear speakers work. Ran Rears off of factory amp. 2018 Dodge Challenger with the 6 speaker factory amp set up.

Pros: Plug and Play for the 6 Speaker Alpine Amplified System

Cons: Rear Speakers wires were coded wrong

made connecting amps and speakers much easier without cutting the factory harness. Be sure to check your actual connections to the speakers, seems since this harness covers multiple years some of the speaker labels were incorrect. Both sides of this harness should have the longer wire pigtails.

Pros: leaves factory harness intact

Cons: wires could be longer

Excellent harness for adding amp

Crutchfield customer from Wind Gap, PA on 3/9/2020

2018 Dodge Journey

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

This was a great harness for adding an amp to my factory setup. I didn't plan on using it, I was gonna use all new speaker wire, but factory wire was good enough for my build. This great little harness connects to your factory amp to pass through canbus signal, but also splits off the speaker inputs so you can wire your new amp outputs directly to the factory harness without cutting it. Also, it gives you the option to continue using the factory amp at the same time. Like if you want to keep using the stock sub , or save channels on your new amp by powering the mini dash speakers off of the factory amp. Leaves alot of room for possibilities. You could bridge 2 channels on new amp for powerful front sound and still keep decent sound in the back doors, factory sub and dash.

Pros: Clear instructions Everything was correctly marked Extremely useful

Cons: None really

The coding of the cables is totally different to how they are identified in the manual and in the diagrams. example the cables identified as center channel are those of sub-woofer 2, that makes you have to identify each cable so you can know exactly which speaker you are connecting. otherwise it works.

Everything powered up fine when i used it. The problem is the pins dont match up with the rear deck speakers i want to amplify. still trying to figure it out. LIFE SAVER when integrating w/factory amp

I wish I'd known about this product before I snipped the factory amp harness off... I had already had the PAC Audio AmpPRO 4 (AP4-CH41) installed, and was trying to wire it through my factory amp in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and was having a bear of a time. I talked to PAC Audio and they turned me onto this harness, and it saved my life. I re-soldered the factory connector to the wires that I had disconnected and then used this harness. BOOM. I had sound using two aftermarket factory amps and all new speakers while retaining my chimes, warning bells, sensors, and all of the factory bells and whistles.
