This part worked perfectly in my 1993 Ford Mustang. Being able to adjust the speaker volume for both front and rear speakers to set the RMS was great.

Wiring interface did not work out

I really appreciate the effort that Crutchfield puts forth in providing dongles, instructions and other items to assist in installation. In the case of this wiring interface it was not the correct cable harness for my 1996 Ford E-350. The instructions were also inaccurate in terms of which inputs to use, Low or High level. Tech support was a big help and set me straight and admitted the instructions were misleading. I spent a couple hours figuring out I would not be able to only replace the head unit in this vehicle. I will bypass the factory amp. Should have went this route initially. Fortunately, I found the perfect Kicker amp and it should arrive tomorrow!

This made the job easy ans required no adjustments.

Pros: Do all your wiring connections outside the car and just plug and play when you start the install.

Cons: You need to have room to mount this, so plan accordingly.

Only one of the two harnesses actually matched the factory harness. After splicing on the OEM black harness, and hooking up the new radio, it attenuated the volume so much that full volume was required to even hear audio. I ended up removing this thing and just splicing the OEM harnesses directly to the radio, and everything worked fine.

Pros:

Cons: Harnesses didn't match vehicle harnesses. After installation, it didn't work.
