New A-PS solved mystery A-bus hub malfunction

Though expensive, replacing this Russound A-PS on my antiquated A-bus system (powering a discontinued A-H484 hub) solved an otherwise inexplicable system failure that rendered all my Russound wall keypads dark. Thanks to Quinn (Crutchfield advisor) for suggesting that I start with this relatively easy part before tackling much more expensive system replacements/upgrades. Along the way I learned that the LED on a functional A-PS (bright green) will light up even when the A-PS barrel-end is NOT plugged into the hub (i.e., if an A-PS is working properly, it will have a green LED on it even if it's not connected to any hub -- helpful in diagnosing that my original A-PS had failed, rather than the A-H484 hub it supported). Notably, I wasn't able to find this information anywhere online (the green LED tidbit), so I thought I'd add it here in case it's useful to others.

Part of an overall retrofit with two A-K4 keypads and an A-H2 two zone hub. Install was almost too easy thanks to the folks at Crutchfield's Customer Service. They demonstrated extreme patience in "what goes where." The keypad's flexible modes are a distinct advantage for various configurations. D Corwin

Was having problems with my current A-BUS system, would not work with all keypads plugged in. With one keypad it would function but still had some random clicking and popping in addition to the lights on the keypad fading in and out. Replaced the power supply and everything is good to go!

I first bought a cheap off-brand power adapter online. After having intermittent problems, it quickly failed. Ordered the Russound brand from Crutchfield, and it is working flawlessly, on top of that, they even called me before shipping to make sure I was ordering the correct adapter for my need. I'm impressed, and will consider Crutchfield for future purchases. Heck, I've even remained subscribed to their marketing emails!

Very pricey, but work.

I agree with other comments that I reviewed before purchasing this that is is too much to pay for a power adapter. However, it did get my 14 year old system working. We just purchased this home 5 months ago. The original owner installed the system but we bought the home from the second owner. There was no documentation or power adapter left behind. Happy to see that the power adapter did the trick and the initial test of the system went very well.

Product Works But is Costly

Well...it's a power supply and it did supply power. Was delivered very quickly. The price is unbelievably high but I couldn't find another reasonably priced power source so I purchased it...for my daughter.

Perfect Replacement for JSH-06125-9

Works perfectly as a replacement for JSH-06125-9, which failed after 5 years of use. Very expensive though. At this price, it's half the price of an iPad mini. All for a power adaptor! Perhaps consider another sound system with much less expensive replacement accessories.
