I've been using these subs for 15+ years and they never disappoint. Best bang for your buck. With the dual 4 ohm you can wire it to be 2 ohm and you get a really deep bass out of the sub.

The ROCKFORD FOSGATE P3D4-12 SUBWOOFERS are Great!!! They put out tremendous amounts of bass!!! They are one of the best subwoofers I have ever used in any of my car audio installs!!! I paired them with a ROCKFORD FOSGATE POWER T 1500-1BDCP amp at 1ohm and they do more than just get the job done!!! I couldn't be more satisfied with these subwoofers!!! The price for them was excellent at CRUTCHFIELD!!! Which is my number one source for all my CAR AUDIO project needs!!! Diane the product advisor that took care of me is great, she is very friendly and very well knowledged on all the products that I call for to get information on!!! These are the best bump for your buck. I have 2 12 p3s in my Jeep Wrangler powered by a Fosgate 1200w amp. I have hammered these on a daily basis for 2 years with zero problems. They sound so friggen good....Fosgate for life....there is no comparison...

So far so good. Only put about 10 hours in so far so levels are still pretty mild. Installed a pair of these combined with RF P1000X1BD. The Punch is certainly there, would recommend.

Cons: Hoping the 4 mounting holes provide enough seal to enclosure. Would have preferred the traditional hex pattern.

I haven't hooked them up yet, I'm patiently waiting for 1200 watt mono amp to power up the 12 inch Rockford if you don't run the right amount of power to your speakers you will not get the sound you need it's best to run two separate amps talk to chase at Crutchfield he'll help you with your needs ??

Fantastic subwoofer for the money. I am running two P3D4-12 subs in my 2020 Ram 2500 Mega Cab powered by a R2-1200X1 (1 Ohm load) and an Audio Control EPICENTER. Hits so hard it makes my eyes blurry at times. Can get extremely low and handles the higher range bass frequencies with ease. I am running them in a 32hz sealed enclosure, Punch EQ barely turned up, Infra Sonic flat, gain at 7, and crossover set at up to 80. Absolutely slams. have both the EPICENTER and Amp control knobs custom mounted in a dash panel and rarely need to turn either up all the way to get amazing sound. My box came from Sub Thump and had customizations.
Pros: Great look and sound, great bass frequency range, pairs perfectly with R2-1200x1
Cons: Hole diameter for mounting speaker is 11.25" so may need additional customizations

I was unfortunately in a bad accident and totaled my last car, the RF amp made it just fine but the sub froze. Just ordered this to replace the identical one I had before and let me tell you, this thing WHAMS. You get what you pay for and this is a top shelf sub for the money right here. Great response across the frequency spectrum, excellent sound quality, and its built to last. I had my old one for about 7 years and it sounded just like new until my accident messed it up. One of these bad boys will put most 2 12 setups to shame. You cant go wrong with either one or 2 of these if you're looking to rattle glasses off a shelf. 10/10

These are some of the best subwoofers I've owned. I just exchanged the Rockford P2d4-12's for these and let me tell you for the money these are the way to go. The P3D4 perfect for just about anybody in my opinion. I am running these 2 with a little Kicker CXA800.1 amp wired to 1ohm so they are only getting about 425 each and boy they get down. If you are on the fence hopefully this review will get you on the right side of it.

I've had my two p3 since new used to be a big Memphis fan but you can not get a better sound quality then you can get with the Rockfords love these subs would recommend to anyone and ps I honestly think they are under rated on the wattage I'm running a crunch 3500 watt on them and sounds grate no problem grate work guys you got my vote

Delivery came through without any delays actually showed up 2 days earlier! The sub itself is everything you could possibly want. I got much more than I would have ever expected. RF does not mess around with the design of this speaker and neither does the speaker itself. If you are a bass head who loves the deep and tight bass then this is the speaker for you!

Thought it sounded funny out of the box - I assumed it was just the sound of the aluminum shell, however after banging for over a month, a door speaker blew and I took it in to get changed out at a local audio shop. Don't get me wrong - the sub knocks on your front door with lots of power, but it most certainly sounds nasty ( like its blown ). When I played my system for the tech, he immediately noticed the 12 inch in my trunk was sounding funny. His assumption was a voice coil or something had separated internally due to glue failure.. I told him the sub sounded this way from the moment it was installed and he shook his head at me in disappointment. The sub is concealed in my trunk so the blown out rattle noise is lost in the trunk and I've just learned to ignore it... after hearing the techs opinions I guess the prices here are too good to be true!

BOOM BOOM BOOM!! Thats what these do!! They shake EVERYTHING!! I have a Punch 1000 amp wired at 1 ohm for them. Strong and powerful!! They are the newer design. I had these about 8 years ago and they burnt up on this amp, these are goins strong!! These seem heavier and better built then the older ones.

make sure you install this sub in a proper sized tuned matched enclosure. I swapped 0.85 zenclosure (seen in this pic) for a qbomb ported tuned enclosre ... night and day difference!!

This sub can really take a beating. As long as you feed it proper RMS power and keep it in a box within its specs... the sub will keep on taking it. Don't know much on whether they require a break in period, but by feeling how stiff the sub is out the box, I took 20-30 hours to break it in just in case. You can tell the difference once you keep playing, it's as if the sub hits harder on the lows each day.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH 1 OF THESE. GET TWO!!!!! I ran 1 with the 1200 mono RF amp and it hit but I was looking for more. Added a second one and I couldn't be happier. If you have anything larger than a sports coupe, get 2 of these with the RF amp. Won't be disappointed.

2017 Jeep Wrangler
Wow these really numb!! I installed these in my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited hard top with ported boxed and 600 watt kicker amp wired at 2 ohms. I had to purchase remote bass controls due to it being sooo because it felt my ear drums vibrate. These subs are AMAZING!!

2001 Chevrolet Corvette
Absolutely most rock solid subs out there. This thing is substantial! Heavy weight and hits hard. It looks like it sounds good just coming out of the box. Feed it some watts and it rocks. I'm a fan of classic rock and the bass in this music often gets lost, not so with this sub. Only drawback is that it doesn't come with a protective grill. Mine is mounted in a well in the back of the Vette firing up, so I'm worried about dropping something on it, have to find a grill that protects completely.

I have 2 1,200 watt 12" subs with a Boss R-3600 watt amp, and they set car alarms off while I'm cruising down the street (LOL!). This Is the BEST set up!

I bought 2 of these bad boys for my car. I'm pushing them with the P1000xbd amp. Awesome combo!! I've put these subs through some tough times already and they handled it with no problem at at. These subs are so powerful and will eat up the power that you give them. I highly recommend them.

Sounds great, only disappointment is the plastic ring, easily warped when tightening 10-24 botton head bolts to Tnuts. Using washers will help, but need to be shaven on a sander as its a machine slotted grove.

I have purchased basically the entire system for my 97 Chevy ext cab truck from Crutchfield. Upon researching an upgrade from my 10" sub to a 12" Maverick suggested a brand of sub ( Rockford) that I had not even considered. I ordered the Rockford, and OMG!! This is one awesome sub...hits hard, and the sound is amazing. I have to readjust my rear view mirror constantly! Lol...I absolutely love it. Thank you Mavrick, and thank you Crutchfield! The best in the business!!

This subwoofer bumps pretty hard. I'm using an amp that is only 770 watts max and the sub is 1200 max and it still hits hard. It makes my mirror vibrate and drop downwards in my car. Thinking about buying another one. Definitely a great purchase.

This sub is amazing and everything I could ask for in a sub. Tremendous bass that's crisp and clear. Pair this with a good amp (I'm using an Alpine MRV500) and you can't go wrong You can't find a better sub for the money, highly recommended.

Very well built. If you are looking for the perfect amount of bass without over doing it this is the subwoofer you need. It delivers a great amount of bass without distorting. Run it in parallel at 2 ohms with the right amp and this delivers.

I have this sub with a 500 w mono Rockford prime amp in the trunk of my 08 Impala. It hits so hard it's ridiculous and it sounds amazing. It is amazing and literally can massage your back with the right song. Oh and forget about using your mirror it just doesn't work. Absolutely love this sub and amp combo and all Rockford products.

Great quality subwoofer. Put this sub in a proper enclosure and it'll blow you away. I have it in a ported enclosure with approximately 1.8 cubic feet and it sounds phenomenal. Would higher recommend!
Pros: Loud, can play nice low frequencies in a proper box, amazing sound quality.
Cons: The only con I have is that the sub was too big for any universal grille, so I had to buy the official Rockford grille for it which is more pricey than typical grilles.

I have 2 of these on a P-1000bd....in my 2015 Chevy Impala...and I must say...they hit hard. They shake my rearview mirror until it faces downward when I crank it up. I recommend these to anyone who want great sounding subs that are very accurate..and get loud. I've bought many subs from Crutchfield....and I've become a huge fan of Rockford Fosgate. I don't order any electronics from anyone but Crutchfield. Thanks guys!

Overall a great speaker. Put this in a 2010 camaro. Went with one subwoofer for space purposes. Paired with a 1.27cuft sealed Sound Ordnance box and this one speaker sounds like a few subwoofers. Only had it installed a few day but have the bass turned way down. Pumps so much it rattles everything and drowns out the factory speakers. I guess eventually new highs will be needed if you really want to turn up the bass. Overall a great subwoofer for serious bass.

The product is great, the bass us solid and deep. I only had the subwoofers a few days so I'll have to break them with a 10 to 20 hours of play to get the full effect of the subs. But so far so good. I would definitely recommend the P3D4 12" Subs. Only gave a 4 star because I've only had them for about a week.

When I look for a sub, I look for a good sound quality sub. I listen to classic rock and traditional country so I don't need a big boomy truck rattiling sub. This sub could be that if you wanted though. I got 2 12in subs in my extended can truck and these things sound amazing. I got the gain on my Rockford Fosgate Power t100-1 only at a quarter. And these things still pound! They don't miss a note and go great with my system. From ACDC to mama tried these things are awesome! Too quality subs at an affordable price.

The quality of this woofer is very nice, can handle a lot or power, and fit it small boxes. The bass is very clean and has the boom wound vs the thump which I didn't like in lower quality woofers. Very impressed as I went through 3 woofer thinking I couldn't get a big box bass sound. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and the EXPERTISE of Crutchfield guiding me through this selection.

I have one of these punch series p3 subs in a sealed enclosure at 1.25 cubic feet. On a cx 600.1 kicker app wired at 2 ohms, and love it this sub just hits so hard and begs for more.

I've got 2 of these wired in a 1 ohm set up being pushed with the RF P1000x1bd in a sealed obcon box facing forward in my 2015 Sonata. I drop the rear seats and let them blast and rattle me away. I'll never use anything but Rockford for my subs or amps they compliment each other great.
Pros: Sound and quality is great for the price and size of subs, can definitely handle the power I'm throwing at them, and easy to set up.
Cons: I want more of them now for my other rigs. Might sound even better in a slightly bigger vented box.

Great sub at a pretty good price. I am running it in a sealed box, it hits very low with really good SQ. It is being run with a 500W true RMS (1200W peak) mono power amp (500W into a 2 ohm load at less then 0.1% THD) in a 1.7 cubic foot enclosure.
Pros: Great sound quality Decently loud Metal cone - great for low bass Powerful Great build quality - never bottomed it out once! Frequency response is great!

I have these subs in a sealed down firing box wired at 1 ohm to a 1500 watt amp and I listen to mostly rock and they sound great. They really rumble and when I listen to rap these things shake my windshield wipers on my windshield. Great quality for the price and hit super hard

I purchased this to round out my system. It complements 2 sets of JL Audio C2-650, the sub is powered by a Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000X1bd and sounds awesome. I have this mounted in a sealed box...it hits a good range of frequencies. It's hits hard and still has a little boom to it. *mind you its only been hooked up for 2 days and still needs some time to break in fully - the bass response will only get better over time. Its a very impressive sub both to listen to and to look at.

I bought these subs for a sealed box, and I must say I was impressed. They were able to hit the lows with power and percision without bottoming out. I have use these same subs in 3 different cars all with solid trunks and I din't get the bass that drowns out the rest of the sound. What I was able to produce was solid bass that blended with the rest of the music of every genre. I could shake the block or vibrate the blood in your veins these subs can do it just right. I recommend a RF amp for them, however they work "ok" with any am that can drop a 2ohm stable and push. I would sooner get rid of the car than these subs!!!!

Wow. Big heavy magnet , basket feels strong , tight surround, fantastick bannana plugs. Sound? Well u need at least 500 watts minimum and to get best sound for rap, rock, country etc... You need to buy Sound ordance 1.27 sealed box. The .93 sounds good but the sub pounds deep in the bigger box. I would say the sub isnt loud persay, but it like an earthquake in your vehicle

I'm running this single sub in a late model f150 s.crew at first off of a Jl jx 500/1. It hit pretty nice but I wanted more, I originally bought this sub as a filler as I blew my 12w3 so I installed the P3 till I could purchase a 12w7. I upgraded to the jl jx 1000/1 this sub defiantly woke up. It's in a 3/4 birch 1.75cuft ported box @35hz I was a lot closer to what I was looking for. The aluminum cone has a distinct sound that I have to say I'm not a fan of, it's not at all bad, just not for me. Also the accuracy is not even close to that of JL, but With the right enclosure & wattage you could really get this thing to slam. I got the w7 so I'll be happy to get rid of this thing. Not at all a bad sub but if you're particular abt your bass give them a listen before you commit.

I love these subs, I've got two of them in the back of an explorer. Box is tuned to 34hz, and feeding them with a hifonics 1700rms amp at 1ohm. They take every bit of power i give to them. Got the P3 to fit in an MTX ThunderForm enclosure for my new Mustang because the MTX sub at the same power level was too deep for the enclosure. The sound is great and it looks awesome. Matched with an Alpine PDX-V9. They seem a good pair.

Was an extreme upgrade from two JL Audios 8's, these subwoofers (have two inside a chevy tahoe) and boy do they bump. I have only one rockford fosgate p1000 amp backing these babies up but will soon have another to wire each sub to its own amp. The price is also perfect trust me invest in something that wil last you will not regret these monsters!

This subwoofer is amazing! I've owned and been using it for 6 months now and it still never ceases to amaze me. It has superior sound quality and looks that could kill.

the title is self explanatory...their competitors may have a little better sound quality but make up for it in power handling...you can "abuse" these woofers and they keep asking for more...I have 1000 watts on one p3 12 in a sealed box!!! Also their power rating is more accurate than others mainly type-r and w6v2. If your more of a bass head but still want sound quality this woofer is the best medium of both worlds.

Does not even compare to the old P3

We received one of these at work recently and put it in the sound room. These things are absolute beasts compared to the old P3. The metal cone and rubber surround are HUGE upgrades and the extra 100wrms power handling also helps tremendously. Powered by a RF T1500 and mounted in the Rockford Fosgate pre-loaded slot-port enlosure, this thing is insane. It out-performs two previous model P2-12's in a dual slot-port box by quite a margin. The metal cone won't crack and break like the old plastic cones, and gives it a very solid, deep, hard hitting sound. The rubber surround means it will last and is less prone to puncture wounds like the foam surrounds on the old P3. Overall a very good buy and a very solid subwoofer, and definitely a huge iimprovement over the old P3.
