Would not let me hit the 5 star button. Highly recommend this treasure. Built in amp with outstanding quality sound and punch.
Pros: Ease of installation. Built in amp Enclosed box provides quality sound. Easy disconnect for transport.
Cons: Velcro strap. Would be nice if RF built a ring on top both ends to secure box with straps or bungee chords. Velcro glue damaged my interior carpet in trunk trying to remove box.

I don't care about turning heads, I want nice tight bass!
Mark B from Chicago, IL on 4/27/2025
2024 Subaru Crosstrek
I went with an active sub as I've had great experiences with active studio monitor speakers. The amp is included and everything just works. The sealed design might move less air but delivers a tight clean sub, I can hear the notes, sidechains, kick/sub relationship. I upgraded my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness with Infinity Reference 307F tweeters and 697F 6x9 front door speakers and although amazing clarity in the mids and highs, it was miss that weight commonly associated with the low end. The sub just tied the whole sound together, beyond happy with this purchase.
Pros: Nice tight bass. Can quickly remove the sub if I need the trunk space. Turns on when audio present and off when it's not. Bass volume knob that you can install within hands reach while driving. Only 300W RMS Max it's not going to put a crazy strain on your battery.

Perfect for some thump without breaking the bank!
Curtis from RUSSELL, KS on 2/23/2025
The Rockford Fosgate P300-12 (or 10) is a great powered subwoofer. I've owned both sizes in different vehicles and I currently have the 12" in my 2015 Jeep Compass. I used to be a major basshead, built my own sub boxes, all that stuff. At age 38, I just want some decent thump without breaking the bank. This Rockford powered sub delivers. It sounds great, it gets loud enough for me, and it looks great too. One of my main concerns in my adult life has been "What if I need the extra cargo room?" The P300 has you covered, as all the power cables go into a harness that can be easily detached. This allows me to put my sub in the house or garage while I'm doing a job or moving an item where I need the extra cargo room. I don't have to worry about the wires shorting out, and I can easily put it back in my vehicle when I've completed whatever task I'm doing. Another great thing about the box is the finish. It's not your standard "speaker box" carpet, it's some sort of hard composite material that looks much nicer. And the built-in grill is another great feature. If you use OFC wire, you only need 8awg to power this bad boy. The base knob is mounted in my glove compartment so I can kill the bass when I have a passenger with sensitive ears.
Pros: Great Sound, Grille, High-class finish, Bass Knob, Quick-Disconnect Harnesses
Cons: None

Easy to install & sounds great. I had recently added a Kicker 65Watt, 4 ch amp to my Kenwood head unit. I found my 100 Watt Infinity Basslink 10" sub, was not holding down the low end . So...more power was my thought, and I was correct. Still dialing things in, but I am very happy with this Fosgate P300-12. Installed in the trunk of my 2016 Impala.
Pros: Easy install, love the quick connection setup. Very solid, and good looking unit

Worth every dollar
Allen from ALEXANDER, AR on 5/16/2024
Makes all the difference in the world. It adds bass to complement the other speakers we have. Installation is easy. Just install an amp kit and you are off to the races. We tried running it with both the remote wire and without. Both worked flawlessly. While I believe you could get more bass out of a subwoofer, external amp, and custom box, sometimes, all you need is something simple to get the job done. On a side note, "lost" the first one. After contacting Crutchfield, I had another shipped out and was at my door in 2 days.
Pros: cost efficient easy to install sounds great
Cons: The bass could be a little stronger (but still very good for an all in one option

Liked my music before. Like it even better now!
Ryan from Grand Rapids, MI on 4/21/2024
2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Great addition to my Jeep Wrangler setup. Nicely fills in the void of low frequencies that my other speakers couldn't reproduce and sounds great. The quick disconnect connections for the power and speaker inputs were definitely a plus as it allows me to move the sub around as needed or make the sacrifice of removing it altogether if I'm hauling a full load of people and gear. The bass control knob is also a plus as no music is created equal and can conveniently adjust to preference. Highly recommended!
Pros: Great sound and response, good options for tuning in, paired with a crossover and gain (boost) options. Bass control knob is a great addition. Flexibility with moving or removing the unit with the quick disconnect connections is definitely a plus. Even with fitting the (12") sub in a Jeep 4 door Wrangle, I'm still able to place this sub where I want it, whether behind the front seats and still sit comfortably, or securing it in the back.
Cons: Granted this wasn't designed for portability but it would have been nice for the box to have had some sort of handles or accessory that would make grabbing it and moving it around a little easier. Fortunately, I don't anticipate needing to move this around too much.

Good purchase
Marquitos from PENSACOLA, FL on 4/21/2024
2023 Dodge Charger
Originally purchased for my 96 F150 in which it was a perfect fit behind the seat and had really good thump. I recently installed this in my 2023 Charger. Placement of the speaker is critical for it to sound good. In the charger, I found it best to face down where the spare tire would be. Not a perfect fit but satisfactory. The deep bass hits really really well but it is missing that hard, tight thump. Overall, I'm happy. It was super easy to install. I like the deep, carrying bass this speaker delivers. This sounds great in my Charger, you won't hear me coming from blocks away but who needs that these days? This sub will take your factory level audio to great new level while minimizing space utilization. Speaker is not heavy and crutchfield came through for the win!! Im not in competition and don't need 2 12's or anything more. This speaker fills everything I could want and am ?? satisfied.
Pros: Small but gives good bass Hits deep Easy installation
Cons: Missing that right, hard thump.

Simple plug and play. Love the no remote wire option, works great. Gives you plenty of bass with all kinds of music, without shaking you out of the car.
Pros: Simple set up, works without running a remote wire, works great with factory systems without having to add anything more, to give you the bass that factory systems lack. Plenty of power for this 12" sub for an enclosure.
Cons: Only cons is that I wish the power cords would have plugged in from the back of the speaker box, instead of the side of the subwoofer box, but that is it.

This sub is even better than I expected. It took a little bit to get it sounding perfect but now it is great. I installed into my wife's 2022 Ford Edge. She has the big screen so we wanted to keep the factory head unit meaning I had to use high level inputs. I actually tapped into both left and right side rear speakers so I would have a little more control with the factory EQ. When I say it took a little bit to get it sounding perfect it is because I tapped into the rear speaker wires instead of the front. So in the factory head unit EQ I ended up having to use fade to go a little more to the rear speakers. Once a figured that out it sounds fantastic. I should have tapped into the front speaker wires. I can still change that in the future if decide to. Fantastic sounding powered subwoofer.

Doesn't hit as hard as you'd expect from 300w. Had to crank it all the way up to be what I would've expected of a middle ground. It also wouldn't turn off after turning on via audio detection and made a mild pop noise every 10sec or so after having turned deck/car car off. This may be user error as I had run power and rca down the same side but thought I'd mention.
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Doesn't hit very hard for 300w unless you crank it all the way up.

Awesome sub. Not gonna be competition level bass but it will make ur music thump. I have 3 lil kids so the fact that its easily removable is a big plus. Had the 10 inch in my 97 Wrangler. Now the 12 inch in my 5th gen 4runner. This will be a major upgrade from any under the seat or 8 inch hatch sub that integrates into the side of a 4runner. If ur on the fence, go ahead and pull the trigger, u won't be dissapointed. Jesse H. Omaha

I was looking for something to add bass to a 2020 Honda Insight, without drawing too much off the hybrid electrical system. I tried a JBL BassPro Nano, which was great on size, but not sound. After previously having an enclosure in the trunk of a Civic, I knew I would have to concede to going for another enclosure in the trunk with a sub of decent size. I went back and forth on saving a few bucks and getting the 10", but I have no regrets going with the 12". As soon as it was powered up it was growling at me and shaking the rear view mirror. I think this is the best choice possible to get big bass in a hybrid car.
Pros: Great low end frequency response and sound.
Cons: Mounting hardware/Velcro did not help much. Ended up using mini ratchet straps to hold in place.

Very happy with this sub. I was hoping it would fit behind the front seat of my 2005 JEEP TJ, but doubted it... so I found another suitable location. Easy set up and sounds fabulous! Very happy with the purchase. I'm 51 years young and don't need the earthquake bass the youngin's need these days, yet this has plenty of bass for me to feel the muse! I do like how this is so easy to disconnect if necessary. Normally there is only 2 people in my JEEP, but if I wanna take the grandkiddos for a ride I can easily pop out the sub and toss in the rear seat. They don't need the bass! Perfect match me! And as expected from a superior company as CRUTCHFIELD is... fast fast shipping and excellent customer service!

This is my first sub/amp install. Very easy to install even for a noobie. I'm still dialing in the rest of my system with a new HU install, but overall this thing bangs. I tried connecting with a RCA Y splitter at first and the signal was too strong/sensitive. I went with just a single RCA to the sub and now I can dial in the gain much better. The sub remote is a nice touch.
Pros: Plenty of bass Easy to install Small'ish form factor Looks decent Remote sub volume Good brand name
Cons: The way the remote plugs in doesn't allow for certain mount positions as it sticks out too far from the back.

Extra bass
Ted from Albuquerque, NM on 8/28/2022
I was looking to add a little more bottom to my 2016 3 Series. I had upgraded the factory 8" subs under the seats but they were still pretty weak. I selected this based on size, cost and installation features. Fit and finish were good. Installation was easy and only took s few hours even with pulling trunk liner, trim and such to run all off the cables. So far it sounds great crossed over at 80Hz. Still need to tweak gain and boost. This is a boomier than I was expecting but it is still punchy and tight for the normal music in my rotation. The bass control knob(included) is a very nice touch so you can easily adjust to your listening style. This is much more than I expected and would have probably been just as happy with the 10" model but this represents great value, performance and a good easy add on solution that won't break the bank. Small and efficient, this is easily removable as well and is worth consideration if you would like to add some additional musical dimension to your vehicle.
Pros: Affordable, easy to install and versatile connection options, small
Cons: None but if you aren't looking for boom consider a smaller driver

Extremely nice overall package. Box, subwoofer and amplifier all factory matched. Sounds really nice, a little boomy for some songs, but easily adjustable with the remote controller. It is a 12" sub after all, but a 10" would be better for 90's alternative and grunge music, in my opinion. Super easy to install, all you need are the power cable, ground cable, and speaker wires. You don't even need a remote wire, it automatically knows when the radio is turned on. Great job Rockford Fosgate!!

Loud but not Low
Max from OXFORD, MS on 5/11/2022
2013 Toyota Yaris
Loud and punchy, that's it. For anyone wanting LOW, this is not the unit. It may say 35Hz but you're lucky if it dips below 50Hz. I suspect the amp filters out of the ultra low frequencies. I was not looking for 130db of capability but I at least want to hear Pink Floyd's Sorrow with the full bass extension. I'm going to try the P500 for convenience since all wiring is already in place. It says it'll do 20Hz but I have my suspicions...
Pros: Plenty of punch for the layman and the price point.
Cons: Useless for a real deal bass drop.

I installed this in the cargo area of my 2010 Jeep Wrangler JKU. Let me just say this thing sounds AWESOME! I paired it with a new Jensen CAR710X. Honestly, I was blown away and how good it sounds. I was on the fence and almost bought another Bazooka tube (had prob 5 over the years in different vehicles), but decided to do this Rockford Fosgate this time. WOW!! Blows away the Bazooka. Has great bass, obviously you can turn it down if you don't want that much. I may by another for my 4Runner and replace the stock subwoofer with the RF! Do yourself a favor and also buy the subwoofer wiring kit. Give you all you need to get it installed.

My son wanted some added bass in his Sonata and this product far exceeded our expectations. I selected this product for the following reasons: 1. The built-in amp (only one component to locate in the trunk) and 2. The ability to tie into the rear speakers to signal power to the amp (preventing the need to open the dash to tie into the factory stereo). I will admit I was skeptical, but after reading the Q&A and relying on past positive experiences with Crutchfield, I decided to go for it. I am so glad I did... The amp kit (Crutchfield CK8) provided everything to hook-up the amp. I also purchased some T-Tap wire connectors to tie into the rear speakers and I couldn't have asked for a more smooth install. As for the product performance, I couldn't be more satisfied with the performance. Delivers as promised in every way. The remote adjustable bass level is a great feature that I was a gimmick, but now feel is essential to tuning the bass to a variety of music. My only reservation is with choosing the 12" sub, I seriously think that the 10" would have been plenty, but the 12" does deliver some serious and deep bass that has made my son very happy.
Pros: Easy install, Built-in amp Tie into speaker for power signal, and remote bass adjustment
Cons: The enclosure is very smooth and you are left on your own to figure out a way to keep it from sliding around. The velcro that is provided helps some, but a more secure method is needed.

This subwoofer was worth the money and was exactly what I was looking for. It is not overkill and won't wake up the whole neighborhood, but can be very clearly heard from inside the vehicle (and I have mine located in the trunk). It goes very well with any music style with heavy bass or not it still adds a great musical element. The only issue I have encountered was keeping the speaker upright, the velcro that was sent with the sub does not work well enough so I had to make something for the speaker. Other than that I would recommend this sub to anyone looking to get the most out of their money.
Pros: Quality sound, nice and compact, very clean design, and worth the money.
Cons: Needs something to hold the speaker from falling over when speeding up.

2015 Ford Focus
After looking at several powered subs I went with the P300-12. I absolutely love it. A friend and I installed it in my 2015 focus with the Sony "premium" audio system. The bass is enough to shake my mirrors. I have the included bass knob in my center console so I can adjust the amount of bass as I please. Best part is no LOC needed. Honestly this sounds better than a 12 inch with a separate amp I had in a previous vehicle installed by a shop.
Pros: Plenty of bass Great value
Cons: The included high input wiring could be longer for convenience

This is a great product. 1 it was easy to install. I ran the power cable, rca cable, ground and signal wire and done. 2 it sounds great gives you all the bass you would need. 3 great price for what you get. The shop up the street from me had the same exact thing for $269 as well as a $150 install. No thanks I did it myself in about an hour and a half and I'm a little bit better than a beginner at it. Shipped and received when promised and tech support walked me thru any questions I had with wiring and knew what they were talking about. Thanks Crutchfield

Rockford Fosgate Delivers Again!
Crutchfield customer from Santa Monica, CA on 6/9/2020
This is the best subwoofer bang for your buck! This fits perfectly into the rear cargo space of my 2005 4-Runner. The wiring couldn't be easier and the PLC potentiometer allows for easy adjustments to your set up. I have a Pioneer head unit that allows for easy crossover and EQ adjustments. I did have to add a stiffening capacitor. Clean sounds all day long. "Picture Me Rollin'" Get the AMP wiring kit. With the discount offered and quality provided it can't be beat.
Pros: Relatively fast installation, good bass, doesn't take up a lot of space, great price, brand name reliability
Cons: It draws a lot of current from my battery, had to purchase a stiffening capacitor

Using TWO of these Rockford P300-12
LD from Jackson on 6/8/2020
2015 Kia Optima
Bought TWO of these for the trunk of my Kia Optima SXL. They were on sale at an excellent price. I actually use these and the factory 8" Infinity sub together using the high level inputs. Greatly enhances the bass. Bass is high quality, punchy, deep, and pretty tight. Goes LOUD! I actually prefer them over ported boxes. Ported boxes generally have a peak at one frequency, more or less, but these are alot more full range in the bass and not "one note". I highly recommend these subs, and Crutchfield is unbeatable!
Pros: Punchy, tight, and pretty loud. Smoother than a ported box, and actually sound deeper. Bass frequencies are more balanced than a ported box as well. Excellent price.
Cons: None really. Two take up quite a bit of trunk space.

Great "Boom" for the bucks.
Crutchfield customer from San Bruno, CA on 6/1/2020
2011 Toyota Prius
This is much better upgrade for my 2011 Prius replacing the Kicker hideaway sub, more headroom and dynamic bass! I did loose some trunk spaces but not much, overall installation is a breeze since the 12V batter is in side rear hatch area, bass level knob involve a little more works, since I had the previous Kicker sub I don't need to run the signal source, I have to laid the sub flat instead of standing because the trunk privacy cover not able to close. When using high level input the "GAIN" control at the sub panel will be bypass, the bass level knob became the gain level control! The speaker definitely needs break-in period, it sound much better over few hours of music playing. I am glad I purchased this through Crutchfield because I have had GREAT shopping experience and customer services, I've been their customer since 1992, always satisfied ! The only dis-satisfied is the shipping box is crushed by UPS shipper luckily speaker not damage but the foam packing inside are broken/crushed.
Pros: Price, name branded, easy installation, detachable connectors.
Cons: No power cables included!

It's my first sub but wow!!! The sound is terrific and install is a breeze with a pioneer headunit and matching RF wiring kit. Love the ease of unplugging a few quick-connect wires and taking it out of the vehicle if I need extra space as well. All in a Chevy Express with RF punch 6.75s in the front doora, 6x9 kickers in the rear doors, and sound deadening all around. Sound quality is terrific and you have the option to wake up the neighbors.

Brevin from NORTH SYRACUSE, NY on 4/23/2020
I purchased this for my fiancé's 2010 Honda Civic. First and foremost, WOW! I was already a big RF fan before I bought this but this was incredible. I wasn't expecting to be shocked as it's only marketed at 300W (RF is known for underrating their products) but I was SHOCKED! Install was a breeze, only issue I ran into was the bass knob mounting doesn't hold the knob well. Once I hooked it up and changed the settings on my head unit to allow it to send signal, I spent maybe all of 5 minutes playing with the settings to fit my needs. This thing kicks like a mule! For it only being "300W" I was genuinely shocked. Will be purchasing another one for my vehicle in the future.
Pros: Easy to use, can use either Hi or Low level inputs, can change Phase, Bass knob.
Cons: Mounting bracket for bass knob doesn't work well.

Underwhelming sound...while it worked!
Crutchfield customer from Plainfield, IL on 1/25/2020
Sound quality was mediocre and bass was underwhelming, but it did the trick for a while. Unfortunately mine crapped out in under 4 months. Since it was still under manufacturer warranty I contacted fosgate and I was so told to remove the amp and woofer cone to ship back to them and would then receive a replacement. Well, five months after having done so, I've given up hope on ever receiving said replacement. Definitely the last fosgate product I'll ever purchase!

Just get it!
Leroy from Atlanta, GA on 10/22/2019
I went back and forth between sub-woofer and amp options for a month, before I decided to try this out. Best decision ever! I'm sort of a newbie to car audio, but decided to install myself. I have a 2018 Accord Sport. I used the high level inputs via the passenger side front door speaker. Cut the RCA ends off the adapter that came with this. Spliced the L & R+ to one side of speaker wire, and L & R -, to the other. I used an 8 gauge (Install Gear) amp kit (50a fuse). Ran power down driver side to trunk, speaker wire down passenger side to trunk. Ground location bolt under trunk carpet that holds back seat down. Make sure you have your Radio reset code handy, in case it asks after you disconnect the battery. I couldn't find mine and reset it through the diagnostic menu. You may have some lights on in the dash after you get everything connected and turn the car on. Just drive for like a mile and they should clear. Make sure you select Hi input and set auto on to audio if you're following my set up. So yeah, I turned the gain nob to about 30% cut the volume up hoping to hear some bass and WOW!!!! The rear view mirror was shaking and everything loose in the car was rattling! This thing bumps!!! For the people saying it doesn't, it must be user error or bad input connections. I'll fine tune everything later, but I am so impressed! Also, I used the Velcro to hold it down and I didn't set up the bass remote.

Pros: One of the best I ever heard, it kicks perfectly without a extra sound or weird noise.
Cons: The main port for the wires of the amp might vibrate so much that it will start getting loose and the posts hitting themself till they burn, advise to buy a new port heavy duty for the amp cables.

Nice amount of adjustment/remote level control/ease of installation/accepts line level input/comes with velcro strapping (which the male side grabs the carpet and seat backing nicely)/Molded casing angle fits perfectly to rear of seat/detachable harness for quick removal to gain cargo area, , all equals a big thumbs up!!
Pros: Easy installation, Casing fits rear of seat perfectly, Great Sound, looks great, Detachable harness for quick removal

Simply amazing for a sealed box sub. It is plug and play. If your looking for competition type stuff you can go with the new 500 watt ported box. For the money you can't beat this set up. I have used mtx, orion, kicker and serwin vegas. But fosgate is hands down the best on any level.
Pros: Easy install.
Cons: You have to find a professional place for the bass control. Mine is in the center consol.

Convenient, yet powerful bass!
Noah from Bergen County, NJ on 1/3/2019
I purchased this subwoofer/amp enclosure for my 2015 Mazda 3 and I couldn't be happier with it's performance. At 300 Watts it is enough to shake the entire car. It also comes with a dedicated bass adjustment knob at no extra cost. I didn't expect so much power from this model as it is only a single 12" subwoofer, with a sealed design. It sounds clean and very punchy while still delivering depth and sheer volume. If you are looking for a budget subwoofer or don't know what to look for in a mono amp, this product is absolutely for you. My sound system sounds incredible and I'm still running the factory speakers, however I would recommend replacing the factory speakers and/or amp so that the bass doesn't completely overpower the mids and highs. I am in the midst of doing that right now, and hopefully then my sound system will sound near professional. Don't bother paying for someone to install this also, it is extremely simple to do especially with Crutchfield's tech support. I hope this review helps your decision :)
Pros: Small enough to fit in most trunks Huge Bass from a small profile Has internal Amplifier
Cons: Doesn't perform well at frequencies below 30Hz

Installed in 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ, fits snugly behind back seat (no straps necessary). Suggested cables were great. I am a novice installer and called tech help for some clarifications and they were great. Also bought an alpine receiver with Crutchfield harness and they needed to help me with power wire to sub and splicing into custom harness. If I can do it, anyone can do this!
Pros: For the money can't beat it
Cons: Wide range of music will need tuning of the sub for perfect sound. As an example - old school rap performs great under one setting but that is not optimal for modern songs recorded with better technology

Sad this didn't do what I was looking for, good sound quality and to be able to keep up with my Amplified speakers. I recommend looking for something with a bit more power if your going to amplify your speakers (which I highly suggest). I changed this out for a IDMAX 12" and a Rockford Fosgate R1200d. It pounds!
Pros: Excellent value to get some thump in your car. Affordable.
Cons: Not good for SQ, Amplified speakers. This sub isn't big (small box is a give away). Box is iffy.

Never have used a powered sub so I was skeptical. I installed this in a Mazda 3 with the factory Bose stereo and WOW was pleasantly surprised. Really brought the lows to life and a little surprised of its output considering it's a small sealed enclosure.

Passengers get nervous. Too much bass.
The Silver Boombox Thief from Grass Valley, CA on 4/11/2018
Dang. We went from a Tacoma with 2 10's @ 250 watts to this single 12 in a Subaru Outback with the Harman Kardon stock system. The stock system has a small sub, (8 or could be a 10) that produces about as much bass as my Apple Watch. (No respect). After adding the sub, look out. Easy install, and now the block hears me approach with smooth style and finesse. I step out of my soccer mom looking whip and the ladies can't stop staring and their boyfriends get nervous my champagne leather interior will be filled with all the females by the time I leave. No more solo Friday nights pretending I got followers on Snapchat. Hot chics blowing up my pager looking for rides to the club. Bottle service on the regular, (not really, but it's cool to pretend). Life ain't half bad with this sub complimenting my style with a little extra low end. Really though, I like the typical 808 type sounds in music, + driving bass lines! golden era hip hop, mix tapes by dj Z Trip, etc. This sub sounds awesome. I don't think I'll ever have it beyond 1/3 of the way up. Overall, really happy.
Pros: Lots of bass. Easy install. Quick/simple disconnect. Sounds great.
Cons: I wish there was handles or a hook system so you lock this sub in place. No idea if any sub has this feature.

Hits hard, maybe too hard
Mike from Crescent City, CA on 3/18/2018
2017 Ford Focus
I'm a sucker for bass and this unit hits really hard! There's some points where I actually have to turn it down because it hits a little too hard but it's manageable. I'm still in the breaking in phase so in terms of sound quality I can't really speak for it. I will say that straight out of the box it sounds good. Only wish that the lower end frequencies (20-30 Hz) were louder. Seeing as this unit is only rated for 35Hz, I'll just have to live with it.
Pros: Hits really hard
Cons: Lowest end frequencies lacking

Bought and installed in a 2012 Honda Fit along with a new Pioneer head unit. I also purchased the install kit. My son was concerned it would not be loud enough (he thought he needed 2 -12s). The gain set at half vibrates the car to death. If you are looking to annoy everyone around you it is not loud enough (thank god). But if you are looking for deep thumping bass you can feel inside the car this is for you.
Pros: Relatively compact - saves space Very easy to hook up Inexpensive

Loud AND tight - the sweet spot!
Ryan from Durham, NC on 2/14/2018
Love it! I've had an 8" in my car for a few years (Rockford PS-8), and it sounded great for the most part, but I wasn't really feeling the bass and whenever the windows went down, I lost my bass pretty much completely (still highly recommended! I've been very happy with it! Just wanted more). This sub sounds AMAZING! I listen to all types of music, but where I really wanted the upgrade was with drums - be in it rock, techno, or metal. With this setup, the bass is loud and VERY tight! Having finally hit that sweet spot, I'm as content as can be. I have more bass than I'll ever need with this sub. I have the gain turned up 1/3, remote turned up about 1/3 as well, and the Punch boost around 6 or 7. I have a Rav 4, and it sits wedged nicely behind my back seat. It is bigger than I expected, but it's not a massive space hog. I can't say how this would perform in a car trunk, as I think pretty traditionally people go for an amp + sub box instead of a powered sub like this, but for any open cabin vehicles, I can't imagine anyone needing anything more than this - would even suggest a smaller/less powerful setup (like the PS-8) for "normal" people lol.
Pros: - Remote Control - Loud and tight (at my settings) - Looks good! - Kind of small footprint
Cons: - I didn't care for the set screw setup for the power and grounding. Happy they provide an allan wrench though and it's (kind of) easily removable

Best bang for the buck
Jason from Conway, AR on 1/25/2018
First, let me start by saying Crutchfield support outdid themselves again... I initially ordered the RF Punch P300-10 (for my daughter's '07 Trailblazer), with the RF 8 gauge wiring kit/some heatsrhink/flextube/etc. Once I received the P300-10, I pretty much knew I should've ordered the P300-12. I called Crutchfield and talked about exchanging the P300-10 for the P300-12, and they said "you can do a replacement, we'll send you the P300-12 and just send us back the P300-10 within 14 days" So... I got the wiring in place (it's the same wiring for the 10 or the 12)... and because Crutchfield's customer service is so awesome... I was able to test both the P300-10 and the P300-12. I went with the P300-12 & was glad I did. The P300-10 was still VERY stout & would suit my needs listening to Rock & old school Rap, but I knew my daughter wanted as much bump as possible. This RF P300-12 is an absolute knockout. It hits HARD. It's an all-in-one solution that can be easily removed if you need to use your trunk/hatch space.
Pros: Great Sub + Amp for the money Easy install Easily removable if you need trunk/hatch space Crutchfield Support (again) is top notch
Cons: I wish there was more velcro supplied in the box from Rockford, to secure it

Cons: I wish I would have purchased everything I needed to install it and tried to do it myself! It cost just as much as the speaker to get it installed . My advice try to do it yourself, it comes with a step by step manual. Overall this is a decent deal, you get what you pay for. I was expecting more of a Rockford Fosgate 12 with 300 watts of power but overall it isn't too bad. The built in crossovers don't work to well when hooking it up to rear speakers that get full sound. Great for soccer moms that need the space.
Pros: Doesn't take up a lot of room
Cons: Not as good sounding as a good 12 with a good amp.

First thing I want to say to anyone on the fence about buying this powered sub, don't believe the 1 and 2 star reviews. I mulled over this purchase for about three months and finally got it...and love it! It's in the back of my Dodge Magnum and right out of the box rattles the back windows without the gain at max. The install was ridiculously easy and the construction is high quality. The remote gain control is perfect and the fact the Velcro tape is strong enough to keep it from sliding around at all, covers all the bases. Highly recommend to anyone who wants quality bass added, but not expecting competition level decibels.

Very nice all-in-one subwoofer
Curtis from Harrisonburg, VA on 6/27/2017
I've been using the sub for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say that I'm impressed by it. I have the sub in the trunk of my sedan and it bumps hard and loud when I want it to, and can also provide a nice and subtle bass when I want to listen to music that doesn't have thumping bass notes in it. Production quality is really nice too - the box itself is very well made and seems to be durable. Quite an upgrade from not having a subwoofer in my car. The sub truly makes all music sound better.
Pros: -easy to control gain (volume) w/ adjustment knob -easy to disconnect/remove when space is needed in trunk -does not take up too much space in trunk
Cons: - a little bit pricey, but well worth the money

This is a great first sub. It is not my first sub, but rather a transition after I blew my last amp and don't want to buy a new system yet. I am impressed with how loud this thing can get for 300w RMS. It sounds about how I expected it would being in a small, sealed box, but that's not bad. It sounds good, I just prefer a ported box. Awesome powered sub, buy it!!!
Russ from Greenville, SC on 4/17/2017
This powered subwoofer is awesome!!! Super easy to install and sounds incredible. I originally purchased a Bazooka tube and it didn't even compare with this sub. I needed it in my Jetta mainly to fill out the low end, it does that and more! It shakes the whole car and that's straight out of the box, no gain or crossover adjustments. It actually sounds and gets lower than my nephews two Kicker 12's with an expensive amp. He has $500+ tied up in his setup, just over $200 for me. Get this subwoofer/amp combo, you won't regret it. And a huge thanks to Dolly from customer service for helping me with my purchase and saving me some moolah.
Pros: Easy install Nice deep low bass Compact design, doesn't take up much trunk space Sturdy, quality construction

Excellent first bass setup
Crutchfield customer from Cumberland Center, ME on 1/5/2017
For the price, this thing is pretty freakin' awesome. I bought the 8 gauge power and signal kit from Rockford as well, and a Pioneer head unit. The head unit has sub output in the form of RCAs, so I just plugged those in and ran it back to the subwoofer's amp. The 300 watts is a solid amount of power, and one of the more powerful units on the market that comes powered. I bought this because it was a 12", was pretty inexpensive, and well powered. This product is my way of getting my feet wet in the bass world and I want to do a more powerful, higher quality, piece-by-piece build in the future and build my own box. This is easy to install, however I made it very difficult by not grounding it well on my first attempt. The amp did not power on and I was very frustrated. Once I changed the grounding location to a better bolt that had paint sanded away, it powered on and worked perfect. As mentioned before, it is incredibly easy to integrate with an aftermarket head unit if you follow Crutchfield's video (and actually ground it properly). I would highly recommend this if you are looking to get into the bass world. Yesterday I hit it with a signal generator and it went just below 30 Hz rather than the 35 that they list on the website, so it is a pretty sweet sub for a first setup.
Pros: Easy to setup Powerful for a powered unit Better bass response than advertised

Not bad. I was expecting more though...
Mark from Marathon, FL on 10/17/2016
This didn't perform as good as I was hoping for. It was loud, had decent sound but not great sound. I was hoping for a little tighter bass, and this didn't quite measure up to what I was hoping for. Maybe I had unreal expectations, but I thought that a 12" Rockford in a sealed box would do a little better. Maybe the 10" version might have been a better choice. Of course, Crutchfield was incredibly helpful and I am upgrading from this to 2-10" JL Audio 10WO's in a sealed box with an alpine 500w RMS amp. Yeah, on second thought, I was probably expecting too much from this one...
Pros: Simplicity. Wiring in an all-in-one powered sub is a breeze.
Cons: None really. I had my expectations too high for what a single 12" powered sub will really be capable of putting out.

Not what i expected
Jon from Tyrone, PA on 7/26/2016
If you're just looking to add some low end sound but don't want to replace your head unit or midrange speakers, this might be for you. I was disappointed with it. I wasn't looking for record breaking spl obviously. But I was at least expecting it to be a little loud. A 12" subwoofer with 300 watts??? Sounds more like an 8 with 50 watts. Even a Rockford Fosgate "prime" gets much louder than this. I don't know how this falls into the "punch" category. For the same price you can get a "prime" sub and a 300 watt "prime" amp, and that combo will blow this away. Of course that defeats the purpose of an "all in one". I removed the sub and it had a tiny motor and magnet. It couldn't have weighed more than a pound. Rockford Fosgate has made some legendary equipment. But this would fall short on impressing even a beginner.
Pros: Easy to install, move and remove. All in one.
Cons: As is the case with all powered subwoofers, it's really lacking in volume. I find it almost impossible to believe it is 300 watts.

Ehh....
Christian from Rutland, VT on 7/16/2016
2015 Honda Civic SI
Mostly disappointed. In order to get a bass response without distortion, I need to keep the levels almost at zero. If I don't, what I mostly get is washed out sound that doesn't sound like music but a low frequency electronic noise. I like a variety of music and when it changes from one genre to the next, I have to constantly adjust the subwoofer's level. The unit seems to prefer amplifying the bass guitar over the kick drum as well. Now when I make those adjustments, and keep the level very low, it's not too bad. But trying to drive while constantly making adjustments is very annoying and let's face it, dangerous.
Pros: I like that there are three ways to power up the unit.
Cons: What I wrote above in the comments.

I've only had this a few days. I wasn't sure about getting a combo unit. This thing thumps! Small footprint and lots of bass.
Pros: Small, easy to install and setup.
Cons: Could use a better way to keep it from moving around. Almost everything is carpeted and the Velcro strips will come off easily.

Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-12
Michael from Clinton, MS on 6/29/2016
2016 Ford Fusion
We recently bought my daughter a new Fusion for graduation. The stereo was the only thing that we weren't impressed with so we knew we would be upgrading it. She wanted a sub and this one is perfect. Built in amplifier makes install simple and quick disconnects are a plus if she ever needs to remove it for anything. The sound is spot on with tight clean bass and the footprint relatively small for a 12 inch woofer.
Pros: Easy install, built in amp, small footprint and clean bass
Cons: None

Added this sub to my sons QX4. I never installed a sub in a vehicle. I've only ever replaced stereos. Crutchfield made it so simple. With Crutchfields install kit the installation was smooth. I had a few questions but they were able to walk me thru it. The Punch has great sound and fit right to the back of his rear seats.
Pros: Excellent sound in a compact design
Cons: Wish the instructions were a little more detailed but Cruthfield was able to help me thru the installation process.

Awesome Sub
Ready to Rock from Milwaukee, WI on 6/10/2016
2015 Chevrolet Sonic
At the suggestion of the Crutchfield Tech, we went with the Rockford Fosgate Punch P300 12-inch sub instead of the 10-inch model. Good call. This is a great subwoofer! It provides awesome base that will shake the whole car! No lights or other fancy features - just good solid bass. I was a little skeptical at first, but the included Velcro does a great job of holding the sub to the floor in the cargo area, yet lets it be easily removed for hauling things when necessary. The included wired remote bass level control gets used much more than I originally expected. It's very handy and mounted easily under the dash on the driver's side (where passengers can't play with it!). We used the high level speaker inputs since we were keeping the OEM radio. We read a lot about people tapping into speakers in the rear doors, but we found it easier to access the rear speaker wires in the driver's foot-well. In our car, we just removed the kick panel trim, pulled up the carpet and there they were for both speakers. Neither the sub nor the optional wiring kit that we purchased included speaker wire, so we ordered that from Crutchfield as well. Unfortunately the recommended length was a little short, so a quick trip to the hardware store was needed for some longer #16 lamp cord. The optional Tap It wire connectors that we purchased from Crutchfield made easy work of connecting the speaker wires without any cutting! Highly recommended! The sub comes with one h
Pros: Awesome sound at a very reasonable price!
Cons: Carefully research what wiring and accessories come with the kit vs. what you will ultimately need to complete the installation and buy optional accessories accordingly. There's nothing worse than a late night hardware store run to kill the installation mood.

Nice sounding bass without the trouble of installing an amp. I gave it 4 stars for 2 small reasons 1- It comes with velcro to secure the subwoofer, but a mounting kit with screws would be better because the velcro peels off carpeting material very easily. 2- Without proper mounting equipment everything in your trunk rattles, causing the bass sound to be distorted. If you secure this with something stronger than velcro you should be very happy with the end results!
Pros: Loud and crisp sounding bass Relatively easy to install, even for a novice. The enclosure isn't as thick as other enclosures so it will fit easier into small trunks without sacrificing superb sound.
Cons: Velcro mounting does not hold the subwoofer down, causing the subwoffer to shake and rattle and distort the bass sounds

Mirror Rattling Bass
David from Tucson, AZ on 5/23/2016
2005 Honda Civic
This little package packs a punch (no pun intended)! I decided to get this powered sub, because I wanted to add some much needed bass to my system. The price was right and the dimensions of the box would still allow me to use my trunk. I like the control I have with the remote included. I can also control the sub with my Kenwood head unit. The installation wasn't as hard as I had expected. I'd say it took me about an hour to install after I decided how I would run the power cable to the head unit. As for the bass, it's pretty clean, but can rattle my mirrors and trunk if I want.
Pros: Box doesn't take up my trunk. Lots of bass. Easy installation. Bass is controllable with an included remote.
Cons: It comes with velcro to secure the unit, but it won't work with the way my trunk is configured.

This went into a highlander SUV. The original receiver died and replaced with a decent receiver. I splurged and put in the subwoofer. It sounded great without the sub running but with it running, WOW. I have it set at a moderate setting. While I love my bass I don't care to trip car alarms driving down the road. Very very solid reinforcement for all lows and it seriously reaches the lowest lows. The ones you had forgotten were in the music. Rock, jazz, classical all simply spectacular. I can't speak to installation but heck, it's self powered so you have to pick a spot and run wiring. Mine is set to be easily removable for times I need to move something big. It's been in there for over a month and absolutely nothing bad to report on it. I can't recommend this enough. The speaker is protected by a fairly sturdy cover which is a good thing. One of the first things I did was bash the crap out of it by accident and it has just a dent in the cover. The sub in my other car would have been a goner.
Pros: easily adjustable. very good sound. Very good extreme lows. Seems like very good construction.
Cons: none.

After already running the wires, this product was super easy to install. The supplied Velcro also made it very stable. The 300 Watts is ample, but you will not be bouncing quarters. The controls are flexible, but I tuned the sound with my head unit. The sound is tight, focused and provides the extra bottom end I wanted. I am driving it from the RCA output on my head unit, and it works great. Highly recommended!
Pros: Easy install, flexible configuration, easy to drive.
Cons: Provides added bottom end, but you'll need two if you want the neighbors to hear you coming.

10 charger sub addition
phizerphan from Decatur, IL on 4/11/2016
2010 Dodge Charger
10 charger needed more low end. After speaking with a Crutchfield advisor we decided the P-300-12 would be a good fit for my application because I was keeping factory head unit and all factory speakers. Installation on this sub was easy and straight forward. The sub was installed in the trunk and fits perfectly. It was also easy to install to make all connections with the battery being located in the trunk. The P300-12 has either high level speaker input as well as rca inputs. I tapped into the rear speakers of the charger to get signal to the amp. The amp on the P300-12 has different choices for the amp to turn on. I tapped into a switched 12v fuse in the fuse box located in the trunk, with no turn on pop. You can also choose to use the standard remote turn on wire from an aftermarket radio or you can choose to use a sound activated turn on. This sub/ amp combo performs well beyond my expectations. It performs well for a variety of music but shines well for country and rock. This sub is not an ideal candidate low dropping rap music because it is a sealed enclosure. All in all the P300-12 and I would assume the 10, performs awesomely, easy to install in all applications, and, looks good doing so. It has plenty of punch mounted in the trunk to get the low end thru the rear seat to the interior cabin. I'm very pleased and look forward to upgrading my factory head unit and speakers to compliment the RFP P-300-12. Thanks Crutchfield and Rockford Fosgate
Pros: Nice design. Powerful Amp. Great sound. Very easy installation with clean connections. I really like the options for remote turn on of the amp
Cons: No cons with this powered sub system so far. Its been installed for a month and I find myself joyed everytime I put in a new CD.

My son wanted to add a a sub to the system in his 1999 Jeep Cherokee. With the help of Abe, we selected the RF Punch 12. Install was as easy as promised. Man, this thing will do more than Punch you.....it provides and incredible amount of bass but not at the sake of clarity. My son put on some rap and as much as Dad is not a fan, I have to admit the sound was unbelievable. You could feel the bass. We also tested some great classic rock and the sound was like being in the concert hall. Bass was deep and balanced with just the right amount of ....punch. Great product, great price, great service.

I purchased this sub as a quick way to put a subwoofer in my car that wouldn't require building a box or trying to figure out the amp process (just a beginner in car audio). It was extremely easy to hook up especially with the Rockford Fosgate RFK8i kit which I highly recommend to purchase. I wasn't looking for the car to boom when I listened to music just a good punch. This sub produces a heavy punch with my music enough for my small car. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking to get a good sub.
Pros: Heavy bass, easy to setup.

Whitney from huntsville, AL on 1/26/2016
Installed this power sub in my 2013 Honda accord touring edition. The factory system lacked so much bass and I was wanting something to compensate, but not over do it. Highly impressed with this sub, sounds awesome, and having the operating switch to adjust the sub is a major plus. Would definitely recommend for someone who is not happy with factory sound, but do not recommend if you are wanting a lot of "beat." Crutchfield staff was great helping me determine the right sub and all the accessories to go with. I had this installed by a professional, so I am not sure about how easy the install is.

Very quick and easy instal. My speakers are on an amp so just hooked up a distribution block after upgrading my main power wire and was absolutely blow away by the amount of bass this thing cranks out. It's in the trunk of my 2007 Ford Fusion and my drivers seat vibrates when it's on at half volume. In love! Had a kicker 10" before this and wanted something with a bit more boom. This has ALOT more boom! Comes with Velcro to hold it in place, but decided to purchase some straps to bolt fast to my trunk floor to hold better.

Rocks the Jeep!
JS from California on 1/10/2016
I just installed this powered sub into my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The install was not complex, but it took me about 7 hours total to make everything look professional. All I can say is WOW!. I have a standard Factory stereo with no amp (I did replace the terrible speakers in the sound bar, but that's it). Adding this sub makes such an incredible difference in the system. It's like I installed a $1,500 system. It's amazing. I think I have a grand total of $269 in this total project counting the Rockford Fosgate install kit. The hardest part of the install (other than routing all the wiring) was trying to figure out which wire to use for the blue "remote". You have to get that from the 12v/acc just below the radio. Anyway, I called tech support and they helped me out. If you are considering an upgrade in your JKU, THIS IS THE ONE! This P-300 comes with a power block "quick disconnect" so you can remove the sub in less than 10 seconds and leave it in the garage if you need space or are driving with the top and doors off or something. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with this product for the money. If you are sick of the crappy factory sound in your Jeep, but want to keep the stock look like me, this is the one. You do have to convert your speaker wires to RCA also, but Crutchfield can help. It's not super complex, just takes a while. I'm planning to bolt a brace over it to try to prevent easy theft and use my tonneau cover. Hope this review helps.
Pros: 100%++ upgrade to factory Jeep sound without breaking the bank, booming bass. Doesn't eat up too much room. Easy quick disconnect and removal (10 sec). Blends in well to factory black interior. Nice quality cabinet. Remote adjustment works great.
Cons: None. I just hope I can bolt it down hard enough (or hide it under the truck cover) so it doesn't get stolen with the top and doors off this spring.

Punch P300-12
Mark from New York on 12/23/2015
I got this during the christmas sale and definitely worth the money and then some. I had the Sound Ordnance 8 inch 125 watt self powered woofer before and this thing kicks the tar out of it. I couldn't take up much space in my car before so I moved up to this. This doesn't take up alot of room in the trunk and it's in a civic. It's not like the system in my trailblazer, but it still shakes all the mirrors and will feel it. Easy install and the supplied remote level knob works great. Wouldn't expect anything less from Rockford.
Pros: Compact for a 12 inch. Sounds great with a surprising amount of kick. Easy install.
Cons: None that I can think of.

Very Impressed ! !
AdvMECP from Rochester, NY on 2/22/2015
I am an experienced Advanced MECP Technician for an install shop and I installed this for a client who brought it in. I typically do not like self powered sub-woofers but this one really impressed me. Granted it was installed in to a 2014 Ford Focus Hatch Back, emphasis on Hatch Back part, but it sounded amazing for a single sub-woofer. Great job Rockford Fosgate ! ! ! It also came with some nice Velcro I applied to the bottom of the hard shell box and it really gripped in to the clients rear hatch area to prevent it from traveling around. The quick connectors also for power, ground, and remote, as well as for the RCA connections was a pleasant feature as well to work with. It was great also that it came with a Bass Knob as it was a stock radio in the vehicle which we used a line level converter, and having the Bass Knob really gave him the independent sub-woofer control he needed.
Pros: It was made by Rockford Fosgate :-p . A lot more output (loudness) than I expected compared to other self powered sub-woofers I have installed. Pleasant Easy quick connectors for Power, Ground, Remote, and RCA's. Velcro to attach to bottom of box to keep traction and box from roaming around, grill cover over sub-woofer to prevent things in hatch (or trunk) of vehicle damaging subwoofer.
Cons: I did not get to keep it :-)

Great woofer
khanikun from Stuttgart, Germany on 8/11/2014
Great little woofer. Adds quite a bit of base to my setup, easy to install, and takes up little space. I was surprised how small it actually is. I was expecting it to take up a lot more space than it did.
Pros: Small size, easy setup, great bass. Has your bass dial, so you can turn up the bass or lower it.
Cons: It's not a fast moving woofer, so if your music has extremely quick bass thumps, this woofer can't keep up. It's more for your slower bass sounds. If you're looking for huge amounts of bass, you might want to go with a seperate amp/woofer setup. Also multiple woofers.

Terrific!
Tim B from Cleveland, Oh on 8/28/2013
I originally purchased the P300-10 and was a little underwhelmed with the bass response in my 2003 Taurus so I exchanged for the 12". What a huge difference! The remote allows me to adjust bass on the fly, depending on what I am listening to. As other reviews have stated, this sub isn't meant to aggravate those who aren't traveling in the vehicle with you but it fills the whole car with rich bass nonetheless. I mounted it in the trunk with my Sound Ordnance M4050 Amp and it looks great! I highly recommend this sub for those of you who want a well balanced sounding system but still want to bump it up to aggravate your Nurse Practitioner wife who's only remark about your bangin new system is "Your gonna hurt your ears!" This is a great alternative to buying an amp, enclosure, and separate subs. Additionally, as previously stated, all the connections are plugs so you can remove the sub in seconds if you need the trunk space back. Mounting was simple too with the Velcro strips that are included. They grip onto the trunk carpet and my new sub hasn't moved an inch after some enthusiastic driving down in the Metroparks ;) P.S. Use a really good ground and quality power cable connectors on your install and you wont have any hum, turn on pop or any of the other things people complain about with their installs.
Pros: Great, rich bass. Fills the car with sound vs sounding like its coming from the trunk. Super easy install. Great looking sub with the trunk open.
Cons: None

I was skeptical when I bought this product, because I was always a fan of seperate Amps and Speakers. Just didn't think I would get same performance out of this unit. So glad to say that I was wrong. This Sub puts out QUALITY BASS!! Depending on adjustment (which is very easy) it can be used for LOUD thumping bass or it can be used for a more crisp bass. VERY VERSATILE!! Installed in a 2009 Silverado Crew Cab. The box is a little too big to fit under my back seat and sticks out a little bit. Doesn't bother me, but I could see it being in the way if a person has a lot of passengers that ride in the back seat. Really like the bass control. I listen to a lot of different types of music and this makes it very easy to get exact bass that I am looking for with each. My Setup: 8 Gauge Wire straight to the battery Pioneer CD player Kicker 2-way speakers in front and rear panels. Extremely happy with this purchase.
Pros: Versatility, Quality, Appearance, Bass Control
Cons: Little too big to fit under back seat of my crew cab (must have messed up my measurements because item is as listed)

This sub and amp is a great addition to my 2011 GMC, factory radio. This SUB ROCKS HARD!!! It brings both tears of joy, and annoyed looks from the rest of the people NOT sitting in the truck. I love the adjustability. Fits nicely under the left side rear seat, and the person sitting there is always smiling. Used high level inputs, as I was not ready to tear the dash apart to see if I had low level outputs on the stock head unit. I freaking love it, no matter what life brings, once I'm in the truck it all goes away on a BASS NOTE. My son will be purchasing one for his truck soon.
Pros: Sound quality, ease of install
Cons: none

I can't believe how well this sounds without an amp. All the bass and power is contained within this box.

i bought this from another site since crutchfield was out at the time and i can say for the money you can achieve much louder bass. but this item does what it needs to do. i currently have it in my 2012 nissan versa hatch with 10gauge power/ground running straight to the batt (i dont suggest 10gauge if you arent going to run your ground cable back to the battery) and a req5 converting the factory signal to low level for the rockford unit. installation was quite easy for the unit itself, i would assume it may be a bit more difficult if you were to use the high level inputs instead of a signal processor. but for me it was as simple as plugging in the power, ground, remote, and rcas. setting the gain was a bit more difficult though since the method i use requires me measuring volage at the amp terminals; i had to take the speaker out of the box, be warned the screws are an allen head for theft protection. after taking the sub out of the box i set my head unit to 3/4 volume and popped in a 50hz 0db test tone and using a dmm set to ac voltage i set the amp for roughly 280w just to be safe and put the sub back in the box. i then set the low pass to roughly 80hz and verified that the bass boost was turn all the way down. since it isnt needed and is an easy way to damage a speaker if set up improperly. time for listening, the unit performs quite well, it isnt going to shake the house down, but it's a good factory upgrade and it blended with my factory speakers quite well
Pros: its compact, easy to install, and easy to remove(just unplug two plugs and pull it out)
Cons: for being rockfords punch line i was expecting a little more output, (respectively i may get more output when switching to an aftermarket headunit though i wont find out till i buy one), lower end bass like below 35hz is lacking but thats common for a sealed box of this size i wouldve liked to see the box be a tad bit bigger like 1.25cubes rather than 1 cube as it would allow the sub to play a bit lower
