1991 Dodge D Series
Great sounding speakers. These were installed in a set of boxes for the back of a D150. Pretty good bass, and good mids and highs. The stereo sounds really good in the truck considering these are the only two speakers. The grilles are good quality. I would purchase again without hesitation.

2005 Honda Accord EX
You can do better at this price point. The Kicker CS Series 6x9's in my other car sound better and produce more low end with no amp than these do with an Alpine 45x4 running them. I probably should have returned them as soon as I put them in but it's too late now. I would not buy again.
Pros: Price I guess but not worth the few bucks you save.
Cons: Overall sound quality isn't great and bass output is very disappointing.

Sounds good, not enough bass. With a stock radio, it is not pushing enough power to do these justice without an additional amp. The sound is clear but I would recommend a powered sub to pair with these to give a better balanced sound.

The speakers arrived fairly fast, the install was not that bad. I did have to drill a few holes in the bracket but all went well. The wires that were sent fit perfectly. The new speakers really livened up the car sound.

My 2015 Sierra started sounding very flat and dry from age. I replaced factory door speakers with out any amplification and they sound great. Of course you don't get the muffled low end from these aftermarket's like the stock, but they make up for it with clear and precise response and sound. Easy to install thanks to crutchfield guide and tools.

Installed these in the front doors of my 2017 F150 XLT, with the stock radio. A major improvement. The highs are crisp and the bass is a little better. Expected the bass would not be hammering, because an amp was not hooked up. I can crank up my Thunderstruck and not have to deal with distortion. I have had Rockford component systems in the past, so I knew this speakers would not disappoint.
Pros: Easy install, much better highs, great customer service
Cons: The holes in the adapter rings didn't quite line up with the speaker mounting holes, but made them work.

They sound better then the low quality, paper coned, sun blasted stock speakers in my 2001 echo. Not much of a complement. The wiring Crutchfield recommended was incorrect male plugs for this vehicle also. Next time I'll pick out what I think will work instead of fallowing the recommendation of this site.

With the factory's head unit these went into my rear deck and really leveled the sound from front to back. They're not super bassy but loud for sure. These will make you're ride sound crisp and ready for subs.

I got these because I had to pull my door apart to change a door actuator. While I had it apart, there was no way I was leaving those stock speakers in there. I didn't get super expensive ones because I wasn't replacing the head unit or getting an amp. I am more than pleased with the upgrade I did. Highly recommend these speakers and getting them from Crutchfield. The free installation gear made everything easy-peasy.

Bought these tow finihs off Rockford Fosgate System in 2012 Camaro. Very happy with Front satellite speakers, read powered Sub, and these 6x9's Stock Head unit is only 80 watts, but the power sub takes the load off the head unit to make these rear deck and front spreakers much more efficient.
Pros: None
Cons: Not for speakers but for the enginners at Chevy that thought it was a good idea to top mount these speakers creating a dissassembly of the complete inside of the back of the car.

These sound absolutely great for the price. The bass is super punchy and clean, no distortion whatsoever even at high volumes. The mids are somewhat laid back but highs are pronounced. Nothing sounds over-percussive or metallic. They sound great with everything from Country to Hip-hop, Rock and EDM. Have had them installed for a couple weeks now and they are even better than the factory Infinity 6x9s that were in my 01 Grand Caravan. Still have 6 other speakers to change over but these definitely improved sound quality immensely.
Pros: Price, great for bassheads, clean and detailed sound, ease of installation, louder than factory amplified system.
Cons: Mids could be better in my opinion.

Amazing Sound Quality

I had just two brand new 3.5" Kickers in the dash of my 72 El Camino, but that wasn't nearly good enough, especially with how loud my car is. To rectify the sound issue, I bought a set of these and two 6x9 boxes for the rear. It woke my car audio system right up. Don't listen to the folks who nay-say the quality in other reviews, I think it might be more from the angle of not properly equalizing and fading the stereo. After tweaking the levels, I had my wife listen to it. She was shocked, and said she might want me to instal the same speakers in her car. Well worth the purchase, and even more so at the price point

Installed these in a friends Nissan Frontier which had a pioneer double din already but with the factory speakers. Install was a breeze thanks to the installation gear. Put the 6x9's up front and 6.5's in the back. Once we got everything all put together, put a song on that he likes, it was all smiles! Huge difference in sound. From the highs to the lows, you could actually hear the music now. For the price, these just can't be beat. I'm certain there are other 6x9's that sound better but would require an amp and twice the price as these.

They sound great only issue is no bass with my car now with these and the 6 and a half fosgates even with bass booster turned up not sure if radio or if since had to bypass factory amp they may have been an issue not sure if needed to add an amp. I ordered a fosgate 12 inch all in one for trunk to add bass.

1989 Honda Accord LXI
They are very good speakers and a good replacement from my old ones which were factory in my 1989 Honda Accord. However, the screws weren't long enough to drill through my rear deck. So I had to use the old mounts which don't fit right but is good enough to keep them in place.

I purchased these RF 3-way speakers as part of a complete replacement of the factory speakers in my 2018 Nissan Frontier. After swapping them out I actually could hear the front door speakers for the 1st time! Previously the dashboard tweeters overwhelmed the door speakers (at least from the drivers seat...). These 3-way speakers produce a very well rounded sound and extremely good clarity too. Install was a snap thanks to Crutchfield throwing in these factory adapter harness!

2016 Nissan Frontier SV
These speakers sound great and they remind me of my teenage past. I haven't seen 6x9 speakers used in vehicles in years. I got these for my 2016 Nissan Frontier. The factory speakers did sound good but I knew I was missing things and I was right. My truck had 6X9's in front doors, tweeters on the dash and 6.5's in the rear doors. All paper full range types. I am amazed at the difference. Full bass with greats highs and mid range. A large improvement all the way around. The factory speaker mounting holes were slightly different than these are so I had to open up 2 of the mounting holes somewhat to get them to line up but easily done with my Dremel tool. Well worth the effort due to the increased sound quality. Rockford makes good stuff and these sound wonderful.
Pros: Affordable, clear and crisp no complaints. Crutchfields adapter cables and instructions are great and make things so much easier.
Cons: Slight modification to the speaker to fit my Frontier but thats to be expected.

1999 Toyota Camry LE
These things are great!! Solid bottom end, nice mids and really good highs too!! I put these in my 1999 Camry with a pair of P16 6.5's in the front doors and a Kenwood DPX503BT receiver and I could not be happier. The install was a real challenge however. Not enough to downgrade the speakers but I will say it took all the car stereo install experience I had to get them in solidly and to my liking. Quick note: you will need your old speakers that came out of the vehicle to make a suitable mounting bracket or you will not be mounting these very well otherwise. I made a mounting bracket by breaking the old speaker out of the plastic basket it sat in from the factory. Once you have just the "outer" ring of the old housing remaining, you can make a really nice bracket to mount directly back into the factory opening while using the factory screws to secure it. You will need to get creative and fasten your new speakers to the home made bracket but this can be done with some small screws and washers. Take your time and you will be rewarded with some really nice speakers that deliver on the Rockford Fosgate promise. These thump really well with the power from the receiver itself and with an amp would probably push even harder. I really like the bottom end and kick drum definition as well as the midrange and highs that these deliver. Great construction and for the price they are very hard to beat. I have had these in for about a month and I feel like they will deliver for many years.

Unbelievable. I just swapped out the factory speakers in my 2015 Jeep Patriot with these and they are incredible. I put the Rockford Fosgate 3 way 6x9s in front and the RF 2 way 6x9s in the back and they sound way better than the factory speakers - and they're still hooked up to the factory head unit. I'm having an Alpine unit installed tomorrow and I can't wait to hear what these sound like with the new head unit. Some reviewers stated that they thought these speakers had insufficient bass- don't believe them. Sure, if you're looking for the kind of bass that you'd get from a pair of 15" subs, you're not going to get it. With that being said, I'm an adult and I don't want bass that people can feel from a mile away. I just want something that sounds full and great and these speakers do exactly that. They nicely separate and enhance the highs, lows, and mids - I listened to lots of different kinds of music after installing these and I heard intricacies in the music that I was never able to hear in my car. These are excellent speakers for the price.

I purchased these to put in my 2019 Subaru Ascent. I was originally looking at Polk Audio and Infinity but purchased these at the recommendation of Hogan since I was running the OEM head unit I'm glad I listened to his expert advice. Since these weren't "Big Name" speakers I fully expected to be somewhat underwhelmed by the sound. Instead I was thoroughly impressed. Very good balance between highs and mids and had a clean, solid and tight bass. Thanks for the recommendation Hogan !!

Ok, first let's start with Crutchfield. It shipped on time, and their attention to the little details that make an awesome buying experience is second to none. They even shipped the exact harness adapter I needed for free, and it made the install a breeze. Now, let's get to the speakers themselves. I purchased these on sale, and at that price they are an absolute steal. I replaced a pair of non functioning rear speakers with these, and to say the sound system improved is an understatement. There is one small problem, and though it's not a big enough issue to change the review, I feel the need to say this to save others some potential pain: Only 3 mounting holes on the speaker actually line up with the mounting holes on the car. I tried everything, even not tightening down any of the other 3 screws and hole number 4 (lower left IIRC) will not line up or get tightened down. On well. Definitely would buy these again, especially at that price.
Pros: Easy install, especially with the hardware Crutchfield provides free of charges. Works as advertised.
Cons: Only 3 of 4 mounting holes line up with the mounting holes on the 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible I drive. Not a big problem, but mentioning this should save others some pain.

A very worthwhile purchase. Speakers have really improved the stock speakers in my 2017 GMC Canyon, maybe the best 54 bucks I have ever spent. I wasn't looking for head-banging, shake the neighbors' windows sound, I wanted to have better quality bass, mid and highs, these speakers more than achieved that. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone wanting the same.

Good upgrade from OE. Changed left front & rear on my Patriot to compare. Sensitivity was about 4 clicks better than original and much better highs & lows. Distortion near top end but I'm sure that's due to "dirty" head unit output. Mounting holes lined up by eye but some resistance felt on installation. Overcome by starting all screws and tightening evenly in a circular pattern. And of course the supplied wiring adapters simplified wiring. Very pleased, ready for a road trip!
Pros: Better sensitivity. Low volume bass and fuller spectrum sounds throughout.

Bought these to replace the stock speakers in a 2013 jeep compass. I was going to amp them, but found out they play great just off the sock head unit. These things will vibrate the doors with even half volume. If you are looking for a good stock replacement that has great clarity and bass these are the ones! With the factory plug in adapters I had all four speakers changed out in about 30 minutes! The easiest one I've ever done!

Installed these in the rear deck of a 2009 Corolla. HUGE upgrade over the stock set-up. The factory speakers were cheap paper ones and were deteriorated pretty bad. The install went smoothly thanks to the great info provided by Crutchfield. I did have to drill new holes to fit them, but was a straight-forward job. The wiring harnesses provided for free by Crutchfield snaps right in. The sound difference over stock is AMAZING. These speakers have a punch to them, and awesome clarity on the high end. Now I need a set for the front doors... Couldn't be happier with these!

2005 Honda Accord LX
Installation into rear deck of 2005 Honda Accord required more modifications than expected. Had to elongate mounting holes in speakers and trim factory grills on bottom to sit flush on edges of speakers. Speakers are well constructed and had excellent high frequency response immediately. Bass response improved significantly after several hours use. Overall, pleased with speakers and installation modifications were not significant. Definite improvement over factory rear speakers.

Speakers work great. They have good highs, lows and mid-range. Bought these as replacements for factory Toyota speakers. What an improvement over stock speakers. Only con is that they use different mounting holes than the factory ones. You actually have to drill new holes. The provided sheet metal screws are unusually long but not a huge deal. They just make installation a little cumbersome since there is not much room to work. The RF speaker quality is great. Would definitely buy again.

These are great sounding 6x9s. Note that alot of the reviews have complantients about the bass they produce. These are medium powered speakers (130w max), and do need to break in. This may take more than a month. Also these are preminum quality speakers with both tweeters, and super tweeters, so they do a much better job at reproducing the high ends. All in all for any head unit, or small amp, these are the best 6x9s your going to find outside of the comp lv speakers. Sorry for spelling and grammer errors.

So I purchased the Rockford Fosgate Prime R169X3 after I had purchased the Rockford Fosgate R152's. Way better, The 6X9's deliver the bass as well as the highs and mids to make my music sound awesome. I was pleased with both purchases but removed the 152 series for the 169 series. I have placed the 152's in my girlfriends Honda and they were an improvement over her stock speakers. So we are truly pleased to have such great quality in our vehicles. This all comes from the stock stereos and we are both planning to puchase stereos from Crutchfield. Thank you. Tony.

This was my first time buying a Rockford product and a 3 way speak. I decide to go with a 3-way speaker because I wanted to add a full range of sounds coming from the bottom part of my door on my 87' Dodge. I am greatly impressed with the sound quality coming from these speakers.

Shockingly good sound

These speakers provide very good sound for the price, with a fairly even frequency response. They fit my car perfectly.
Pros: A dramatic improvement vs the factory speakers. Should've done it years ago. As they are lower power, they are a decent choice for an un-amplified head unit that only pushes 20 watts on a good day. Excellent value, easy install, and a fairly even frequency response.
Cons: Has a few hot & cold spots in the frequency response, with a very cold spot at around 500 Hz (probably where the integrated crossover is). You'll need some EQ to bring it back up. Whining over the 500Hz dip for a value speaker seems a bit petty, though.

If you can only replace one set of speakers, look no further. These are the best. Handling the entire spectrum from Bass, mids, and highs like a champ. Super clean audio.

Great upgrade choice

2004 Toyota Corolla
Put these in my daughters corolla and wow. What an upgrade these were. Along with The door speakers i upgraded and the new head unit the car sounds so much better. Loud and crisp without an amp. Granted not meant to rattle windows but sounds miles better.

Cons: Mounting in a corolla rear deck was somewhat aggravating but no way to avoid it. Blame toyo ;)

I have bought 4 sets of these speakers over the past 8 years. 1 set for my wife's car, which are now 8 years old. 2 sets for my truck, which are now 6 years old. And this last set for my son's car. We all like our music, and we bang the heck out of these Fosgate's. All of them still sound great, even the 8-year-old ones. Great product, and very durable in my opinion.

2012 Toyota Camry
Installed these speakers into my 2012 Toyota Camry today. I'm running with factory stereo and they are a Huge improvement! I'm completely satisfied with these speakers as they play so clear. The price was fantastic as I picked these up on sale - great value! Install was a breeze with the rear speaker adapters. Crutchfield site says these won't work in the rear speaker location but they fit great with the right rear speaker adapters that can be picked elsewhere. Highly recommend these.

Could Be Better

I bought these to replace my factory door speakers in my 2005 Nissan Frontier. Sound quality is decent and installation was a breeze. Due to previous reviews I looked at, I was expecting a little more bass out of these. But it works I suppose. If you want some serious bass I guess you need to buy some subwoofers. Thats why they make them. Sound isn't distorted and it comes out crystal clear...just wish they had a little more bass.
Pros: Crystal clear sound. Easy install. Nice design; would look good mounted outside of door panel.

Installed these on the rear deck of an '07 Yaris. I cut out the frame of the stock speaker to use as plate to attach these speakers. Worked like a charm. Excellent sound quality for the price point. Plenty of bass and high end. Mid range lacking a bit. Hey they're in a Yaris. Its ok.

Great Value Speakers

Popped these into the rear deck of a 2003 Toyota Coroola for my daughter. Despite a rather poor aftermarket head unit that came with the car, these speakers provided a huge upgrade to the old paper stock speakers that came with the car. I believe the base would be there but for the power of the head unit, but as far as the bass and mid-range, these speakers sounded outstanding. At the price-point offered by Crutchfield, I highly recommend them.
Pros: Geat mid-range and tweeter response; price-point to value is outstanding.
Cons: Nothing negative in terms of performance, just installation. On a 2003 Toyota Corrola, I had to do a bit of extra modification/drilling which was a pain only b/c of the angle and space in the runk (tight).

1994 Cadillac Sedan de Ville
I bought these for the rear deck in conjunction with some smaller units for the front doors in my 1994 Cadillac DeVille. Wow. The sound quality of these speakers was much better than I expected for the price. The amount of low-end bass they carried was truly shocking, and they're running off the factory head unit. I highly recommend these as an upgrade for factory speakers, especially for the low price. Make sure you have some equalizer functionality in your head unit to get the full benefit.
Pros: Big, deep, rich bass. No distortion at nice, thick volumes. Highs and mids were clear and present.
Cons: Only thing I could possibly say is that they might have too much bass if your head unit doesn't have EQ capability to fine-tune, but that might be from the very large trunk and large interior of the Cadillac.

2012 Nissan Xterra
Purchased these speakers to place in the back of an SUV. Since my vehicle has a factory amplifier, I had additional wiring available behind the aftermarket Pioneer HU, These were installed in speaker boxes for use when tailgating, camping, etc. The sound quality is excellent for the price. Clear highs, and lows without distortion at decent volume. Quality construction, simple and classic look. The grille is a bit more flexible than I expected, but just need to keep heavy items away. Better to replace a dented grille than a cut speaker. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a good sounding speaker. It took only a couple of days to break them in. However, for what I paid for them, this speaker sounds great. If your looking for something that won't break your pocket and sounds nice, I don't think I could of done better. Good over all range.
Pros: Sounds good and cheap. Best bang for your buck.
Cons: For my 1998 honda accord, the hole pattern did not match the factory ones and hard to make new ones.

2003 Corolla

Overall, great speakers! We selected our speakers by going to the new Crutchfield store in Charlottesville, VA which I highly recommend to those with that option as their new car audio simulator was very helpful is selecting the right speakers for our application. On to the speakers. The difference between these and the stock speakers was night and day. The lows were stronger, the highers existed finally! The stock speakers sounded like they were muffled and underwater when we compared them to these halfway through the install. You can't go wrong with these speakers, the music actually sounds like it was intended once you install these. Paired with Rockford Fosgate Prime R165-S in the front doors the overhauled sound system is amazing! On a side note, although the instructions provided by Crutchfield were clear, they recommended you make or purchase a speaker adapter to mount the speakers. Long story short, you will need an adapter as the stock speakers mount on holes far from the speaker and because of the way the sheet metal is bent in the vicinity of the speaker (and under the angled rear glass) I didn't even try to match drill holes in the rear deck. Anyways, I purchased some adapters online for "Rear Toyota Aftermarket Speaker Adapter 6x9 Inches" which made the install possible. Not sure why Crutchfield provides the adapter for the front door speakers and not the rear, but just be aware and plan ahead.
Pros: Excellent highs, mids and lows, especially compared to stock speakers. Wish I'd done this a long time ago!
Cons: Have found no cons with the speaker, but all 6x9 speakers for rear deck of Corolla will require an adapter which must be purchased elsewhere.

I installed these in the rear deck of a 2004 Camry and I could not be more pleased. The sound separation and clarity is about the best I have heard for the price. These are hooked up to a Kenwood Excelon X797 receiver...no amp.

2006 Honda Accord EX
Great speaker. Great brand. Overral satisfied. But, the website informed me that the speaker is compatible with my 2006 Honda Accord EX V6 (Sedan) and then as I was checking out they informed me that I needed to use the factory speaker grilles instead of the grilles that come with the speaker. The factory grilles do not snap into place with the 3-way speaker due to the silk dome pole that the tweeter and midrange are mounted on. Therefore, it is not compatible. Not too big of a deal if you don't mind the appearance of the car while using the grilles that came with the speakers.

Cons: Not really a con, just an observation with any speaker. I would suggest adding a sub woofer to this install for better reach into the lower sound range for a deeper and enhanced base.
