Decided to go with a soundbar in our newly remodeled family room. We have a modern home with a minimalist vibe and wanted to let go of all the home theater gear clutter and cords. The Sonos Arc is everything it's claimed to be! Room correction is a game changer for sonic quality in our open loft area. The eArc connection means there is only one wire to the TV and one one controller for everything. The sound is quite good - dialog is clear, surround is accurate, and the sound quality overall is mind blowing for a soundbar ?? Only consideration left is to save up for a subwoofer and adding Eras speakers or the rear surround to bring this family room into a true home theater room??

Wow!!! Incredible sound even just streaming, replaced an older 5.1 system and added dub 5. It's incredible. Will add SL era 100s next but I'm beyond impressed with sound quality and effects. Ultra wasn't in my budget, but on Black Friday sale at 699 was a great deal. App setup worked very well. Takes a couple of seconds for sound from older TV with optical to HDMI converter to sync up, but the fact they include that is wonderful. The box it's packed is also excellent and made for reuse. Finally drinking the Sonos kool aid but very satisfied. App is a bit basic and takes a while to fully navigate. Very pleased. Crutchfield excellent pre and post same support.

So far so good. We are remodeling the living room and then rearranging the furniture, with that being said, I have not been able to tune it to the room yet. But initial set up has been great and sounds really good.

I was skeptical to "downgrade" to a soundbar. However, our new house is very small and it wasn't practical to run a whole receiver/speaker setup. Out of the box, this soundbar paired with the sub is pretty amazing. Sound is immersive and impressive paired with our 86" LG. Glad we made the decision to go with this instead of a more complicated setup.
Pros: Immersive, clear, sound quality, loud
Cons: Haven't found any yet other than it's kind of pricey.

I already had the sonos app and a sonos speaker. One would think that it should be easy to connect another sonos speaker and update the app. But no. Kudos to the folks at Crutchfield for getting sonos arc up and running.

This Arc replaces an older Yamaha sound bar that developed some problems and became unusable. At first, I was hesitant to buy the Arc as it does not have device switching capability. The result is that the other HDMI devices here are now routed directly to the TV and they all work as they should with great sound produced by the Arc. After using it for over a month -- it was a very good choice.
Pros: Great sound. It provides much clearer voices than the previous device.
Cons: Some initial hassle getting it to connect to Wi-Fi, but that situation was solved by Crutchfield support. It would be nice if it had multiple HDMI input selections to feed to the TV -- but this is not a showstopper.

Product arrived quickly. Set up was simple until the Arc needed the first update. It was stuck with Error 30, I was frustrated. Thank you Crutchfield customer and tech support for the prompt assistance. After 4-5 hrs, it finally worked. I had to change the DNS and hard wire it to the main router and then put it back on Wi-Fi for it to finally update! After that struggle, the Arc works great. I set it up with my Sub Gen 3 and two One SL. The system sounded incredible with music and movies.
Pros: Great all in one bar Better with surround Good Atmos performance
Cons: Price May not be worth it in 2024 for the price as Samsung new sound bar is superb in features and value

I bought the ARC thinking it would suffice on it's own. I was a tad disappointed with it's dynamics. Don't buy one without purchasing the sub as well. It sounds good since I added the sub but not as lofty as I expected from Sonos.

I would not buy any Sonos products right now. The roll out of the new app has been terrible at best and pretty much leaving the Sonos users without working products. I'm sure they will eventually get it right but save yourself the trouble and wait it out or purchase another product in the short term.

I usually spend a month or two researching before I purchase anything. I'm also historically not a huge fan of soundbars vs individual component systems. I did have the Arc by itself and it was pretty good on it's own but ended up adding the Sub Gen 3. The Arc plus Sub Gen 3 sound fantastic as a pair. If you are considering this (and especially if you have Sonos products) just do if. Won't regret if. I have 2 Play Ones as rear surrounds until I replace with Era300s but even now the system sounds amazing.

This was certainly a step up compared to my older Yamaha YAS-706 sound bar in terms of being able to hear distinct surround sound channels. My old Yamaha is just a 2.1 system, so it can't process dialogue coming in on its own channel the way the Arc can. It might be me just being used to the Yamaha, but I prefer the way dialogue sounds from the Yamaha vs from the Arc. That being said, even on full surround speaker systems with a separate center channel speaker, I don't like hearing the dialogue come only out of the center channel speaker and will usually adjust settings so dialogue also comes out of the front left and right (and maybe also out of the surrounds). Sonos does have a speech enhancement on/off toggle in the app, but that's more of an EQ adjustment to boost speech frequencies and doesn't make the dialogue come out of additional drivers in the system (that I could hear, anyway). Aside from the dialogue issue, the Arc sounded good with different types of content I fed it and really came to life when grouped with two Era 300s as surrounds and a Sub Mini. Hearing some newer action movies with that setup and the volume up was a much different and more immersive experience than what I could get with the old Yamaha setup. But when watching something like YouTube videos (coming into the system in stereo) I found myself wanting to set up the Era 300s as a stereo pair linked with the Arc so I could have the voices come out of them also.

Surprisingly difficult experience

I have 9 Sonos products already and so expected this one to simply integrate without a problem . It did not, and after hours of effort I have resorted to an optical adapter to connect to my one month old TV. HDMI will not reliably work. Will give it another week or it needs to go back.

500 sq ft living room and the Arc fills the room with awesome range. Paired with Sonos Ones and subwoofer. Great system. Can play ear drum piercing loud without any distortion. We had the Beam before. The Arc is superior in all ways. Double the price but 10 times the sound. Worth the investment!

I had a Sonos 5.1 system with Beam, and debated about whether to upgrade to an Arc. I'm glad I did! The sound is much more spacious, even though I had to use an optical connection due to my older TV. Great service, as always, from Crutchfield.

Unfortunately, my TV does not have the eARC outlet to connect to thTVe Soundbar. It only has the ARC outlet. I thought it was sufficient. I cannot use Dolby Atmos with this TV. Lack of information on how to connect the unit. No manual or link to the manual

Wow! -- Easy setup. Connected Sonos Arc to e/arc HDMI port on Sony TV. Roku connected to standard HDMI port on Sony TV. Without any issues or setup on my part the Roku remote turns on the TV and Sonos Arc. Sound is amazing!

One of the better sound bars available at any price. Biggest downfall is the dialog. After many calls, conversations, and emails, nothing helped. The clarity of the dialog is worse that my budget Vizio bar in my bedroom. Unintelligible because sound effects are so loud. Trueplay didnt help. Biggest mistake I made. I'm sure there's something they could do with software but they say they can't. I'd never recommend a arc to anyone.

I'm very impressed at the sound coming from the arc when watching movies but stereo sound when listening to music is a little underwhelming. That would likely be fixed at some point when I'm able to add surround speakers to the arc. I haven't fully perfected the setup for the height channels but the arc seems to be doing an ok job on the atmos content for being a single speaker. ARC definitely needs a sub paired so I have the sub mini which gets the job done. The Sonos app is very easy to use and I have enjoyed it so far. I thought that not having a remote would be a problem but I don't miss it.

Cons: Flat on music as a stand alone speaker. Needs other speakers paired to get a true stereo sound.

Great all in one package

I have owed definitive technology 7.2.2 system along with many other brands including focal. The arc is a great compromise to a traditional home av receiver and bookshelf speakers. Unlike most sound bars it has full deep rich sound. It sounds as if it was floor standing speakers. Only reason for 4* instead of 5* is that dialog can't not be adjusted in anyway.

I had the Sonos Beam in my living room area, so I purchased this Sonos Arc, replaced the Sonos Beam with the Arc in my living room and placed the Sonos Beam in my bedroom. GREAT INVESTMENT!! you will also need the Sonos Sub Woofer for your hime to rock...

Great for loud sounds, gunfire, bombs, action, etc. theater quality. Dialogue poor. You cant have volume to hear dialogue without unleashing very, very loud action effects. Conversely if you lower volume of action, car chases, gunfire, dramatic effects, etc., you cannot hear dialogue. Full disclosure, I'm a little hard of hearing and I bought this soundbar based on ratings for dialogue clarity. But for me it just does not work enhancing dialogue without rattling the house with sound effects.

Cons: Weak dialogue enhancement without sacrificing sound effects. Very tall soundbar obscures lower part of tv.

I've had this arc, with the sub3, the amp and 2 in ceiling architecture speakers. The sound is really good but.... The big issue I have is the dialog (center speaker). Even with the speech enhancement engaged its still difficult making out dialog on quiet scenes and loud movies. I've spent hours with sonos on the phone and there's nothing else to do to rectify this. My buddy has a Samsung 800 bar and it has center dialog independent volume in addition to speech enhancement. It's clear as day. I dont think I can keep this system the way the dialog is controlled. A real shame sonis can't add a software update to control the center speakers amp.

The Arc is great! I love it for TV and the dialogue clarity is pretty solid. I didn't really get a chance to experience the surround capability only because my room is really quite poor for reflective surround sound but as far as a LCR it's rock solid. Musically I would have liked a bit more energy in the treble out of the box but the Arc still makes for an impressive package. Especially when paired with their Sub!

Bought the Sonos arc to upgrade from my Sonos playbar. It was very easy to add to my existing Sonos surround system ( 2 play ones for rear fill and a Sonos sub in my living room).Watched Top Gun Maverick after installing. No need to go to the theater anymore. Sounds fantastic. Thanks Sonos for your incredible products.

Slaps. Works with my old optical digital output and even takes IR signal from my TV remote. Sounds good watching Marvel or playing music for D&D ambiance in my open-ish floor plan. Can switch between the two or whole home audio with a couple button presses on your phone.

Wow, so easy to set up and sounds great. My wife insisted we get rid of the "dorm room" speakers so we splurged on this sound bar. We have a big room and it fills it with sound very well. Cool install, as all we needed to do was provide power and a 2.1 HDMI cable so that TV would transmit eARC signal to Sonos. So simple and volume control works off TV remote. Next, we will purchase the base cube so that we can improve the bass and shake the windows with my favorite Led Zeppelin tunes!

I've been a Bose customer for a long time, the Sonos Arc is replacing a Bose 900 Soundbar, for some reason it would not work properly with my QN90 Samsung Tv. The Arc works great, sounds great and it's a good quality build, have also purchased a Sonos Beam 2nd Generation, which is also good, will be adding speakers and sub in the near future. As usual great service from Crutchfield.

I've never been a fan of open box items, but decided to take a chance. I got the Arc in 2 days, so great shipping. While I could tell the box had been opened before, I could not see any signs of use to the Arc itself. I saved money and am glad I took the chance. Thank you Crutchfield. The Arc is a fantastic piece of gear. Sounds great for Dolby Atmos and sounds great for music too. I also got the Sanus tv/soundbar mount made specifically for the Arc and it rocks. Now I need a subwoofer. Probably will go for the Sub Mini. :)

So, I initially got to hear one of these not long before I started at Crutchfield and I was very impressed but also didn't have a great reference point as I didn't often use sound bars personally. Recently, I wanted to check it out with a more critical eye (or in this case ear). Two huge take aways for me. First, the ease of set up was impressive. It actually took way more time for me to fix an issue I personally was having with my Apple account to get the app than it did for me to get the set up finished. Secondly, the way the Arc fills the room with sound is quite impressive and you really don't get that with most bars under 1k, not to the extent that the Arc is doing it. I tried it with and without the subwoofer and even without that sub being used, I would not call the sound "thin", though the subwoofer did impact the sound greatly. Add in the ability to work this into a multiroom audio system that is VERY expandible, and I find it to be one of the better soundbars overall.

Fantastic sound bar! Setup was easy, and the sound bar itself sounds fantastic when listening to music or movies. Plenty of bass on its own, with great surround sound presence made even better with Trueplay. Once tuned, there was a noticeable difference in the surround effects as well as the overall stereo separation in music. Clear dialogue for TV and movies, while being noticeably improved by the subwoofer addition. Can't recommend it enough, anyone considering going wireless instead of a traditional system should give it a try!

Comparison of Beam Gen 1, Gen 2 and Arc.

I own a Sonos Beam Gen 1, Sonos Beam Gen 2 and the Arc. I bought them, respectively, in the preceding order. Each sound bar is in a different room of my house and my main setup is a dedicated Atmos system with in-wall Polk Speakers and an SVS Subwoofer. This review is to help people understand the difference between the 3 units and decide if the price difference is worth the upgrade. In my opinion, there is as much of a difference between the Beam Gen 1 and the Beam Gen 2 as there is between the Beam Gen 2 and the Arc. I know a lot of reviews indicate the Arc is "very close" to the Beam Gen 2, but I can assure you that the nuanced differences are significant. Notably, the overhead sensation from Arc's upfiring speakers is superior to that of the Beam Gen 2 (which lacks up firing speakers). The subtle sound differences the Arc has over the Beam Gen 2 are also quite noticeable. I have read MANY reviews on Amazon, various website, etc. that seem to indicate that the Beam Gen 2 is better for music. I am going out of my way to write this review to say THAT IS NOT THE CASE. I don't know what is wrong with people's ears, but the Arc's reproduction of music in my environment is leaps and bounds better than the Beam Gen 2. I actually setup the Arc and the Beam Gen 2 in the same room to compare them both. The Arc wins by a landslide. Granted, I also have the Sonos Sub but some may not find that necessary.

A very good speaker. I don't really consider it a "soundbar" as this term doesn't do it justice. Very good center channel dialogue, surprising good bass without a subwoofer. I also have a Beam and this a huge step up from the Beam. Fantastic with a large flat panel.

Solid Sound in a Large Room

My family room is an open concept with high vaulted ceilings and few walls to contain sound. I had been using a home theater receiver and a traditional 5.1 speaker arrangement for over 15 years, but the sub had died and the center channel had always been underwhelming for producing clear dialogue so decided to look at options. Gave the Sonos Arc and Sonus Sub a try. Very pleased with the clarity of sound, the amount of base, and especially with the clarity of dialogue. Given the open concept of my room, it seems like having all of the sound projected at the listening position from the front is a better solution than spreading out speakers. Being able to ditch the home theater receiver and other speakers and simply mount the arc below the TV is an added bonus. Setup was relatively easy. Plugged it in, downloaded the app, and followed the instructions. Took a couple of tries to get the Sub connected, but overall a smooth experience.

It's just ok, maybe. You have to set up an account with Sonos, with no remote control with an app on your phone. Annoying. The sound is meh, in terms of surround it probably doesn't do it and I have Dolby atmos. I was advised I didn't need sub woofer or surround safelights, but maybe I do? Might return, and have to say this is my 4th sound bar over the past 6 years, and they all kind of stink, to be honest. Much money for not a lot of return on sound. Not right.

Big Sound from the Arc. It is big, and its heavy, but its worth the room it takes up. I went with the sub and 2 Sonos 1 SL's for full surround and its the best sound I have gotten out of any of my past setups. But honestly, just this alone would be enough to still have great sound. Crutchfield was the only place with these in stock as well.

I love every part of this product! From the clever and safe packaging (save the box, you'll thank me later) to the Trueplay room sound optimizer feature, to the product design to the Dolby Atmos eleven speaker sound. It's all so great. Set up was a breeze and it fit perfectly under my new Samsung 75" 4K QLED TV. I opted not to get the subwoofer and haven't been unhappy with the lower end movie sounds. I might miss it with music, but so far, I'm loving it!

I have several times in the week I've had the device had to restart various components, I.e. Purchased as part of the Sonos home theater (Arc+sub+ 2x Sonos 1 for surround) bundle to replace a traditional 5.2.1 wired home theater speakers and receiver. It simply works, and sounds every bit as good as the traditional setup with a lot less space and complications. My research started with less expensive options, but all had reviews with complaints about setup, app, sound out of synch, wireless speakers not staying connected, etc. I have experienced none of these gremlins (one month in). Ease of use + it just works + Sounds great = I'm content with the premium price.

The sound of the Sonos Arc is clear and warm. I discovered though surround speakers were absolutely necessary for my room. I am now convinced the subwoofer will be needed to make me happy. Having said that I can hear dialog clearly. Movies sound great with a full dynamic range and precise placement of sounds. I have no idea if I am listening to Atmos or not, it just sounds full and rich. The TruePlay setup is so so easy to do unless you don't have an iPhone but then I don't know anybody without one. With the Arc, Sonos One surrounds and a couple of other Sonos Ones in other rooms I have started to enjoy listening to music at home again. Sonos makes music enjoyable. Thank you!

I never used Crutchfield in the past and was worried to try an online sales process for a higher priced speaker purchase vs the local "big store". The sales person was very knowledgeable and gave recommendations for my current purchase/situation and future options when we are ready. The Sonos Arc was perfect for our needs and Sonos is by far one the best sound bars on the market. That is my 2nd Sonos and I don't think I will be able to change brands anytime soon( always worth a little more $ to get high quality products) Also, this product was delivered out with free shipping out of state and tracked exactly as advertised (2days) thank you - we will definitely purchase from Crutchfield again.

The bar sounds pretty good. The big problem is that to set it up you need a Apple product(IOS) and that is has to be a certain version of Apple product. They need to include a mic so this not such a bug problem.

Let me start off by saying, Crutchfield was great . However, as another reviewer stated regarding the Arc soundbar, I am also "underwhelmed". He sent his back. I sometimes look at my Arc and I can't believe I just spent $900.00 on it. I know others have talked it up and written about the "Sonos Community". People can sell you on the idea that its just part of the bigger picture with Sonos. I can relate it to an Apple product, (very expensive and simple to use but expense vs value is very subjective to the user) I am disappointed that I was sold on the hype and not sold on the sound). I was expecting to be at least a little blown away by the sound out of the box but I was not. The sound coming from the bar was not very full and as rich as I was expecting. Very average sounding to me. Granted I only have the sound bar, no Sub, I have not used any sound apps for my room size and have very little expertise to offer up to a reviewer. Unless, of course, you count laying between two speakers listening to Aerosmith back in the day. That sounded pretty great BTW ;) I will keep the soundbar, however, and save up for a Sub and give that a try. I'm at a point where I can absorb an extra expense in my life but not so enthusiastic about the purchase. I might follow up if any are interested after I get the Sub in the future.

I am so surprised that the bass issue with the ARC is not in any one of the reviews online like Youtube or any other sort of write up. They must have used the Sonos Sub to review. For the most part like everyone else in this thread I thought the Arc would be able to play some sort of bass with clipping/distortion/muddy sound. I was very wrong. When watching any sort of 2.0 programing on YouTube TV, the bass issues were fine. However when watching 5.1or Atmos content I would hear the low bass frequencies get muddy as if one of the speakers went loose. It sounded to me like a cheap car speaker from the 80's when there was too much bass. When watching Yellowjackets on Showtime with 5.1 some of the music was clipping. I did all the things you are supposed to do like run true play or turn off true play. Normal listening levels for us is around 20%, so not very loud at all and still got the bass issues. On the flip side the ARC compared to our Playbase, the dialog and mid's are out of this world for a sound bar, just not nearly as good with the bass as the Playbase. So, to solve the problem and match what all the reviews did in 2020 was I got the Sonos Sub. And yes, it solved the bass issues and the fidelity was even better. What disappointments me is that you really need the sub to deal with the Arc bass issues and that is very pricey. There should be a disclaimer that when a low bass frequency occurs at a certain (low) output that there is an asterisk on promo materials.

This us a very good soundbar! I have been a long time bluesound user so this was my first step into Sonos. I paired the ARC with two play 1's and the gen 3 sub and I can say, it has exceeded my expectations. We only use this system while watching movies on our Lg cx1 Oled TV and it works very good in this setup. I can't say how it would be for music as I haven't listened to a lot of music through it but I would imagine a majority of people would be happy with it.

This system enhanced my new Smart TV sound which is ok by itself but not great. If you like to hear bass, you will need to add other sonos speakers. After initial setup and hearing it by itself, I added my sonos play one's to complete the surround system experience. What a difference! I really like the sound the 3 sonos units provide. I will be adding the sonos Sub as soon as money permits. This system is not cheap. Well made. I have other Play's in the house. Easy to setup, overall Im satisfied with Sonos. .

The Arc sounds great and is really easy to setup and configure in the Sonos app. It might not be the BEST sound quality for the money but it does sound good and it is really easy to use. Plus if you are buying other sonos devices it makes this purchase even more worthwhile. I put my arc in the bedroom and I have a 5.1 setup with a reciever in my living room. However I am sure this would sound great in a living room too. My bedroom TV did not have an eARC connection just ARC. I bought an eARC audio extractor to go between Apple TV and TV to take full advantage of Dolby Atmos. Overall, very happy

I bought the Sonos Arc a couple of months ago and it was my first exposure to the Sonos line and we paired it to a Sony TV with Dolby Altmos. The last two sound bars I had bought both my wife and I had problems understanding dialog on many TV programs. So, my first thing I want to say is the Arc solved that problem right out of the box. Packaging is exquisite, setup was simple, the Trueplay adjustment feature was easy, the first impressions stunningly positive in every regard.The Sonos app is easy to setup, a little cumbersome to find all of what it has to offer, but once you get it, it's a decent, if limited, EQ. Alexa is something I could live without, but I added it and find it mildly amusing. Now, to the overall sound quality. Many people would be totally satisfied with the Arc by itself. It's crisp & clear, with more than adequate volume and great mid-range and highs. The bass is actually pretty impressive coming from just a sound bar, not bad at all, On a 1 to 10 scale I'd give the bass a 7. But.I missed the rear surround speakers, enough so that a couple of weeks later I added a pair of Sonos Ones. That really brought a WOW factor, not just with the TV, but especially with music! I felt like I was sitting in a grand music hall..but now I was really longing for the whole enchilada. Though seriously straining the pocket, I plunged into the deep end and bought the Subwoofer.Total decadence. Watched a 4K Lord of the Rings. Oh, my! I rarely leave the room.

My Klipsch sound bar died after 5 years so on a few friends suggestions I bought the Arc. They said it had enough base and didn't need the sub. I will get the sub. Movies and music just don't have the dynamics with out it compared to my Klipsch. Over all I think the sound quality is better and the I really like the features such as ability to replace Alexa devices and ability to link to any Sonos speakers on the network, same music every where. The build quality is very robust and looks great.

After only 2 years, the JBL 5.1 wireless sound bar no longer charged the rear speakers. Picked up the Arc and 2 Sonos 1 instead, it has been fantastic so far, sound is crystal clear, high and midrange are great. Love the speech enhancement on the app. Bass is surprisingly good, but I will pick up the Sonos sub soon to make it even better, Just one caveat, if you use an WiFi extender for setup, you will keep getting a failure message so make sure your system is connected to your router and not the extender. Yes, the system is pricey, but if you look at it as a long term investment, it is well worth it.

The Sonos Arc and subwoofer are great products. The shipping packages protected the product from the usual banging around that all products get put through by shippers. The sound is good for both TV and music. I can play my Sirius radio and Amazon music with the Sonos app. The TV sound without the bar had an issue with not being able to understand voices. With the bar peoples voices are crystal clear. The Sonos app gives you access to all kinds of content providers. I would recommend the addition of the subwoofer as it really gives you the theater experience. The wall mount made for the system is well designed.

One of the best purchases I've made. Perfect for daily use during the day and night since it has night mode you can still bump without having to worry about bothering other people. Now pair this puppy with a sub and you'll be thanking yourself. Sound quality is ridiculously good, no lag or distortions of any sort or cut outs. I've been owning the arc for a few months now and I can't remember the last time i ran into a problem with it or if I've ever even had a single issue with it

This bar is outstanding! In my house this is replacing a 7.1 Onkyo / Integra based home theater. Is it as capable? No. Does it do a good job at presenting Movies and Music? Yes. I don't even have the Sonos One SL's for surround and it has a pretty enveloping sound field. Just played Dune and it was really well done.

I like the soundbar so far but need to wait till I have other speakers for surround sound and to be able to evaluate the overall sound. On it's own it's "ok". Has been a little challenging to get it to work with my Apple TV/Home and Home Pods. Sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes I have to figure out the combination it (and Apple) wants today. Hopefully just a learning curve on my part. It also started to crackle a little but I had just moved the tv and seemed to have wiggled the connection. Once wiggled again the crackling has gone away so far. I did have to call Crutchfield to get help connecting it originally due to my lack of knowledge and they were very friendly and quickly got me hooked up. PS, this soundbar is fairly large so if your space is small, keep this in mind. Just an FYI, It works (surround sound) with Apple Home Pod minis when playing music or watching off the Apple TV hub thingie but directly from TV the Home Pods don't work with it at this point and you'll need more speakers for surround sound.

Set up information is too limited. Be aware that they recommend 4" minimum between tv and sound bar. They also do not give you the optimum placement info for the bar. Your room set up affects the sound and placing the bar at hearing level is optimal. Ceiling height makes a difference and so tilting the bar may be best. Having it at the edge of your shelf may also be best placement. You may wish to do your homework for best set up but Sonos does not provide this information.

I had long desired to replace the 5:1 ceiling system and its associated Receiver and sub woofer for long time. I replaced a Polk sound bar With a Sonos Arc, and I have to say it was well worth the money! My wife has hearing problems in one ear due to an auto accident, and has a hard time understanding what people are saying when there is background noise. Now she can understand what people are saying! I no longer have to tell what was said, nor do I have to hit the reverse button every 30 seconds. I love this unit!

I bought the Sonos Arc as a gift for a relative in August 2021. Am really impressed with the soundstage this sound bar presents. It is much louder than I expected, and projects a believable surround feel when sitting in the "sweet spot". Video source/eARC is from latest Apple 4k TV through a 2021 Sony 65X90J. There have been no issues with sound dropping out as some other owners have reported online. Using Zeskit Maya Ultra High bandwidth 48gbs HDMI 2.1 cables from Apple TV to X90J and from X90J tv to the Sonos arc. A little expensive, but I am very pleased with the Sonos Arc, and can recommend it highly to anyone looking to purchase a sound bar. Also, Crutchfield had it in stock and delivered to residence via 2 day air! Sonos could not ship direct until Mid-September at the earliest,

Good overall upgrade to my home theater setup at our vacation home. Didn't want to commit to a full 11.2 system in the destined location so this seemed like a simpler substitute. Pleased with the sound quality and clarity. Surprisingly good base response but will still be adding the Sonos sub, gen 3.

Beautiful full sound listening to music with Sonos Arc. Use it with optical connection on Samsung 65" curved TVs. More clarity than the traditional av setup before. TV has an arc hdmi which did not seem to work well at first setup. After reading the details section on tv on the Crutchfiel website description of new earc tvs I learned a lot and will try the arc instead of optical. Crutchfielservice and info are excellent.

This is my 2nd sound bar and I came from a movie room that had 9 built in speakers. So I moved and had to adjust quickly to a new room that didn't have the layout of the other. So I went full Sonos for easy setup for now and I love it. You need the sub and the SL1's for the rear to make it work but even without that bar sounds great.

Speaker sounds great when it works but after a couple of days I now have to unplug and plug the HDMI on the back of the speaker sometime several times to get the sound to work. The TV recognizes the speaker is connected (as eARC) but no sound. Turned auto updates off, I'll try a new cable but if that does not work - its going back

I could not decide between JBL Bar 9 and Sonus Arc. Bought the JBL but was disappointed in the detachable battery powered surround speakers although loved the concept. Returned it. Sonus Arc is crisp and set up with the app is intuitive and child's play. My 2019 Samsung TV although not having eARC passes through Atmos signal.
Pros: Easy set up with Sonus app. Ability to play Apple music spatial audio encoded with Atmos. WiFi audio reception makes for tidy installation when combined with surround speakers and sub.
Cons: No DTS-X. Only one HDMI port although not a major problem as I can plug HDMI jacks into TV.

Swapped out a Beam for an Arc. Setup is an LG OLED CX with Apple TV 4K and eARC passthrough. Arc is paired with OneSLs and a Gen2 Sub. Overall the Arc is worth the extra investment. Much fuller audio for both movies and music. Movie dialogue is noticeably superior. With the BEAM I had to regularly use the speech enhancement feature to dial back surround audio in order to hear dialogue more crisply. Not so with the Arc. Voices are full and crisp with no modifications. I have not used speech enhancement a single time since switching to the Arc. Arc really shines with Apple Spatial audio. Requires playing music thru the Apple TV (no Atmos support thru the Sonos app) which is a bit of a pain, but the difference is worth it. Looking forward to more songs being released. I have heard of some having issues getting Atmos thru eARC passthu on LG CX models. I had zero issues. Just enable eARC on the TL audio settings and set the ATV to Auto.

This sound bar is the final piece of my Sonos system. The Arc is my 12th Sonos speaker and makes for amazing sound throughout our entire home!
Pros: Fits perfect under my 65" TV and greatly enhances sound, especially speech.
Cons: Won't provide Dolby Atmos on an older TV.

Fantastic sound for our family room. Dialogue comes through clearly and isn't overwhelmed by what's going on in the scene, even during Marvel movies. Bass is good and it sync well with our in ceiling speakers using the Sonos Port.

The best soundbar I've heard. No need for a sub unless you need booming bass. The best feature is the center channel voice control. Clear and not muffled. The best home theatre choice I ever made.

Works Great, sounds great.. Lester at the Sonos Support desk helped me to overcome my technical challenge limitations to get TV, home internet, and Sonos to all talk nice to each other. Big thanks to Jenny at Cructhfield for helping me select a system that all works well together. In addition to the Sonos, I have a Sony Amp and Polk ceiling mount speakers. Jenny checked to make sure that my 5 year old Samsung was compatible, and told me what cables I need. I have a system now that does all I want and doesn't take up any floor space.

Did not expect to (nor want to) have to load an app on our phones for a speaker that is wired to the TV. The setup required far too much information over what should be needed for a speaker. The setup was ridiculously involved and did not work. We tried many times and the setup kept going around in circles. The web support pages are incorrect and in some cases blank. Overall we are completely unhappy with the product and returned it for a refund. Crutchfield was very helpful, if only the soundbar was as good as they are.

Sonos does a pretty good job with the UI. I intend to use this soundbar as the sole sound source from my TV; I will not have a full-on home theater system. The Sonos app does need a more sophisticated EQ function. I find the sound to have exaggerated bass and the loudness defaults to on and makes the sound to boomy. I suppose some folks want their TV to rumble the room, but I'd like to hear sound as the recording engineer intended, and I do not think the Sonos Arc delivers that. I base this statement from comparing Qobus hi-res audio to my home stereo. I get that the signal path and speaker capabilities are different, but the overbearing nature of the Arc is a bit much. It's not so objectionable to return, but I wish I could tune the EQ more finely. Turning off the Loudness and lowering the bass helps a lot. It sounds way better than the flat screen TV speakers.

Game Changer Cinema Bar!
Easily the best sound bar in the market. I have 2 surround sound setup at home, one in the living room and one in the theatre room. They are all equipped with 5.1 speakers and an amp. This one was setup in my bedroom. I paired this with my sonos sub and sonos ones and fired it up with Atmos track and the sound blew me away. This thing is LOUD! I was not expecting this to rival with my other speakers. But the clarity and the spaciousness of Atmos made watching films more immersive and felt like I was in a high quality cinema theatre. This is a huge bar so make sure you have room. Calibrate your speakers with Trueplay Speaker tuning on the sonos app before using your bar. And make sure you have eARC on your TV is set to Passthrough for DTS to be converted to 5.1 -7.1 I am using LG CX 65 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV to connect the arc. Overall this is worth a purchase if you have the budget.

I purchased two and thought they sounded good. I have not compared to other sound bars. I went from 5.1 and 3.1 to have a cleaner and more simplistic look. All in all, very satisfied but sound bars cannot replace the sound of actual separate speakers, so expectations need to be realistically aligned. This sound bar can fill a 20x25 room without issue. Set-up with Sonos app is a breeze assuming you have a decent WiFi connection.
Pros: Sonos makes it simple and Arc is a very nice sound bar to fill medium and large room with accurate sound.
Cons: Make sure you have decent WiFi or you won't be able to use the Arc.

Amazing Audio; Crippled Google/Android support

If you have an eARC-enabled TV, the audio is simply breathtaking. As an apartment dweller, I was avoiding a system that required a subwoofer. But the frequency response from the Arc is fully capable of rumbling the room. The sound is warm. Voices are truly more intelligible. The Arc uses all those drivers to add dimension in ways that I never would have thought possible from a single soundbar. There's one input. To get the most out of the speaker, plug it into the eARC HDMI input on your newish TV. You can do ARC with a somewehat older TV. The last option is an optical input, but that takes the place of the HDMI. I'm sure ARC or optical cables limit the protocols supported by Arc; I'm not sure by how much. There's no Bluetooth. No analog inputs. You can enable Google Assistant. But it appears to be a really old one that you can't edit any settings on. Quieter assistant responses at night? Nope. Change mic sensitivity? Sorry. Manage settings in the Google Home app? No can do. No way to Chromecast directly to the speaker like with a $35 Chromecast audio or a $25 Insignia Smart Speaker. So you can't add it to speaker groups, can't cast from an app other than the Sonos app. Sonos tries to be a music service aggregator, and attempts to sell you their service along the way. Their Plex integration played only 10% of the songs I tried, with errors on the others - this hasn't been an issue casting to other speakers for me where the Sonos app is

This is very solidly built. The set-up and calibration were fast and easy with app. It is noticeably better sound and more immersive than the TV alone and it's much cleaner looking with no additional amplifier. It is not as good as a full set of physical surround speakers. (It's not a magical device.) I look forward to adding the satellite speakers.

Incredible sound from only one unit. Add the sub for the full experience and for a larger room add the One SL's for a rear channel. Simple setup with the Sonos app and easy to use. This replaced my 5.1 system for less money and better sound quality. I have another Sonos system in the family room with the Playbar, sub, and One SL's. The Playbar sounds great but the Arc takes it to the next level especially for newer Tv's.

I have the Arc and Sub based off your review and others and I am very happy and pleased with it. I came from a 5.1 setup with Cerwin Vega towers with dual 8's and their center and surrounds with a Klipsch 12....I think that says something for their product.

This a great sound bar. I had a little trouble getting it connected to my LG TV but that was more a function of the TV than the Sonos. The real problem I ran into was my inability to use it in conjunction with my home theater system in the living room. Again, that was not an issue with the Sonos specifically. I was happy enough with it to keep it and use it in the bedroom. The reason it does not get five stars is the Sonos app. I already had four Sonos devices running on Sonos1. The sound bar required I use Sonos2. This took my entire Sonos network back to bare metal, including the loss of all my services. The insult to injury seems to be needing two apps. How could a company that makes such great products let this happen? I'm sure there is a good reason but to me, it ain't good enough.

The speech is very clear which is the main reason why I got this. I hated turning up the volume just to hear the speech portion with my old system. I got a pair of One SL's for surround, and it sounds nice. I am still on the fence about the sub since I live in a townhouse, but this unit has pretty good bass already at least for video content. For music I still prefer my other speakers.

Really good music sound for a sound bar. Good to excellent for movie soundtracks. Ongoing problems with the Arc cutting in and out and loosing sound from the TV (almost all brands) via the sound bar. Does not seem to be a fix as of present.

If you were buying this purely for sound quality there is better for the money. It lacks midrange and for some reason the side speakers are louder then the front. It would be nice to be able to control the individual speakers. It would be nice to just make this a Center Channel\Atmos Bar and leave the Front Left and Front Right to be used with additional speakers like the 5s. Once you add in the convenience of being wireless and the seamless and endless connectivity with the applications supported it turns into a good deal. The fact that you have to have an Apple product or have to borrow one just to use True Play is lame. Hasn't Sonos heard about USB microphones for us Android users. I would be willing to spend a little extra for that. I've taken a star off due to the fact that they are so expensive and only have a 1yr warranty. If you believe in your products you should give at least a 3year warranty.

It deserves 5 stars but I am having some issues with lip sync between my Sony 950H and the Arc. The sound is incredible and blows me away. But I need to address the lip sync issues. Not sure if it is my setup, cable, settings, etc. I have spent hours trying to fix it.

Early Arc Review : Room for Improvement

I ordered the Arc to connect to my 2020 Samsung Frame TV, knowing ahead of time that there are known issues with the eArc connection between the two devices . . . but discussions on the Sonos boards indicated there may be a "fix" forthcoming so I placed the order while there was stock available. Upon arrival I unpacked and installed the Arc using the app for TruePlay, etc. The app is very clean and worked well . . . I liked being able to add Apple Music and Spotify directly in the Sonos app itself. It's very well made and the music, TV, movies, etc. that I've played through it so far sound very good. I test some Atmos content and was impressed with the dynamics. I think the addition of a subwoofer and rear surrounds would really make this a great system. However, I am experiencing the sound drop outs, etc. from the eArc that seem to plague this device. I tried a few workarounds but finally contacted Sonos support and hopefully next week the "patch" will be pushed to me and the Arc will work as advertised. So, I am giving 3 stars for now . . . I will change it to 4 stars if the patch is successful but feel that for 5 stars the sub or surrounds or both would be needed.

Very pleased with Arc/Subwoofer pair. Gives full rich sound in a rather large room. Use for listening to classical music and watching movies. Our ceiling is sloped which is not good for the Dolby Atmos capabilities, so cannot provide much useful opinion for that aspect.

Wow I upgraded from the beam to the Sonos and the upgrade is astonishing! I was between this or adding the sub and man am I glad I got the arc instead of the sub. It brought rumbling bass as well as great atmos mids and highs. Would recommend to anyone!

Excellent soundbar and service from Crutchfield. Chad was excellent in helping define the components to meet our expectations for our Family Room and Game Room. Service and Delivery exceeded expectations. The soundbar is excellent with improving the clarity of speech when we are watching Netflix or Amazon movies and having Alexa built in to tell her what music you want to play is an added bonus. Music sounds amazing on this soundbar. I ordered the Sonos Amp and a pair of speakers for surround and am looking for the entire system coming together with the help of Crutchfield. Thank you Crutchfield Team!

Good sound but bad software. You have to register your speakers online and opt in on data collection usage which can be sold to third parties. I received a slew of welcome emails and getting the most out of ARC. When I set up the system the sub and arc were detected right away but it took a good fifty tries to get the sub to pair with the soundbar. It would be nice to have a cable rca or other and not worry about synching devices. Obvious miney grab they don't want you to use your existing sub. When you get passed all of this the sound is good especially tv dialogue but in no way compares to surround sound that this replaced. I wanted something smaller, easy turn on and off for the family but everyone will need the sonos app to be able to stream or cast. Bluetooth would have been a much better option. In the end the product is okay-good but the software is a bummer.

Awesome build quality and sound, though it does help to have the Sub as well for stronger bass. Don't have eARC on the TV (ARC only) so we can't experience full Dolby Atmos. However, the sound quality is almost as good as the 5.1 system it replaces without the clutter. The Sonos S2 App is also excellent and setup was a breeze.

I bought the Sonos arc and I already had a Sonos move. When I play airplay music the Sonos app gives me the option of playing the music on the move or the den which is where the Sonos arc is. You can check the den or move. You can select both which allows you to play the move from the kitchen and the arc in the Den. Selecting both gives you music all over the house. Very pleased with the arc. Great sound.

The sound & shape is grate ,but the problem is when you would like to turn it off . The only way to do so is to remove the electrical cord . My TV is the latest Sony 65X9500H & it is not able to sync to switch the speaker power off with the TV.

So far so good.... I switched from a Klipsch 5.1 speaker system via Sony receiver... my only issue currently is navigating the Sonos app to tweak speaker sound... I also installed a pair of Sonace in-ceiling speakers which though supposedly compatible can't control through app as I should be able to, hence it's great but I'd like to tweak to my liking.

Have had a Sonos Beam and two Sonos Ones for surround sound hooked up to a Sony XBR950 that worked reasonably well for the last two years. I began with this audio experiment due to the pathetic sound from basically all TVs. When Sonos Arc came out I was impressed with all the reviews and decided to try. Was a little difficult to get due to high demand but Crutchfield got it to me ahead of schedule. Hook up was easy as usual and everything worked. The Arc looks like typical Sonos high quality build. It has twice as many speakers as the Beam and cost twice as much. Is the sound twice as good? I don't know yet, the jury is still out! I would say it sounds better at this point but not to such a degree to warrant the high price. Even with Atmos I have not experienced the type of sound raved about in the reviews by Crutchfield and others (of course most reviews are by those selling the products). Actually, as with the Beam, I think the sound coming from the Sonos Ones is superior; if only I could have added two more to the TV hookup and not use a soundbar at all. And this leads in to my main complaint with Sonos, lack of user flexibility, sound controls, and adjustments. The Sonos tuning does not suit me and I prefer to fade, balance and equalize myself. So time will tell if my experiment with Sonos soundbar surround sound is a failure and if so, back to a component system that I wanted to avoid as part of moving and downsizing.

Sounds is clean, deep and crisp. Paird with the Gen 3 Sub provides another level. The sounbar itself would suffice but again pairing it with the sub really enriches the deep base. Waiting on the two SL One rear speakers to complete the system but they are on back order. Just the soundbar provides a very engulfing and 3D sound so I can't wait to have the full system up and running.

Came well packaged in sturdy Sonos box inside a second shipping box. It was smaller in size than I anticipated, but is well made and was easy to connect and set up along with Sonos bass and two Play 5's that I already owned. Because of my old TV and desire to use my Apple TV, I have not been able to listen to its Dolby Atmos ability, but the sound output is pleasing and the Amazon Alexa feature works well.

The Sonos ARC is a fantastic sound bar that totes realistic sounds and immersive movie watching WHEN paired with the Sonos Gen 3 subwoofer and Sonos surrounds. In my case, I am using Sonos One SL surrounds and it is completely immersive. My biggest gripe was that in order to use Dolby Atmos, your TV must have eARC connection and support Dolby Digital+. Everything I read on my TV (Samsung UNK65KS800) stated it DID have DD+. Well, that was incorrect. Unfortunately to use Atmos, you must have these qualifiers or you just have a really expensive sound bar and surround system that can likely be set up with individual speakers for less money. I went and got a new OLED LG TV from Crutchfield and it works with Atmos and sounds amazing. I'm a SONOS fan in general as I have about a dozen around my house. I love how I can now add my surround sound on my TV to my whole home music.

Cons: Cost, legacy TVs (3+yrs old) not likely to work with DD+ or Atmos, Really need sub + surrounds to bring it all together.

I went from the Sonos Playbase, two surrounds, and woofer in a condo to the Arc and Woofer. Unbelievable sound. Beyond what I thought. In fact, having the sound forward (or in front) seems to be more pure and real. I noticed the sound is more natural and clearer than being broken to so many places (meaning the surround). I will tell you that switching experience was a bit of work. I had a professional swap out for me. You still need to understand the "Sonos" way to finish the change. You cannot just unplug and change. The app needs to know what you are doing. Support at Sonos was good. But I forget I could have gotten my support from Crutchfield. Otherwise, I highly recommend the "upgrade". Be sure to also understand that you need to have an HDMI Arc connection for the best experience. Otherwise, there is an optical adapter (included). NOTE: For those of you with hearing impairment and with hearing aids and cochlear systems, the Arc and Woofer setup is the best and so much less work in hearing the sound.

Excellent sound bar. I can finally hear dialogue clearly during movies and I haven't even turned on the dialogue enhancement. The biggest surprise is listening to music. The arc is an audiophiles dream. I would highly recommend adding the sub and surround speakers to really make movies and music excel.

Purchased this to replace my Denon receiver with full Klipsch speaker set-up and to my surprise this along with the Sonos Sub and a pair of Sonos surrounds are amazingly close to the sound i was previously achieving with my full system. I am amazed at the full array of sound being produced by the Arc, certainly made a believer out of me and really pleased the wife as she was not a fan of all the speakers around the living room.

I used the Arc for a couple of weeks before my sub and surrounds arrived, and it sounded much better than the on board audio of my CX 77. However, I was honestly shocked by how well integrated and balanced the sonics became after properly installing the full system ( sub crawl, wall mounted ear level/toed-in surrounds ) and "Trueplay" tuning. The Arc is Ethernet hardwired which creates a mesh network with other Sonos speaker components, separate from other devices on my Wi-Fi. Offloading much of the bass onto the sub really opens up the soundbar with regard to musical transparency and dialog intelligibility, and side firing speakers on the Arc work really well with the SLs to effectively broaden the soundstage. My HT is a ~ 280 sq. ft. rectangle with an ( essentially ) central viewing position, relatively small openings to adjoining spaces and a flat, 8 ft. ceiling, so this likely helps with Atmos effects and overall audio performance, but the room has no acoustical treatments, just a mix of reflecting walls/hardwood flooring and sound absorbing furnishings/curtains. Overall I'm more than pleased with the value and performance of this investment, and the Sonos S2 app makes both initial set-up and regular use, seamlessly easy and ( thus far at least ) completely trouble free. One caveat: The Sonos Arc is best suited for a newer TV with ARC, preferably eARC ( enhanced audio return channel. )

Despite several hours of troubleshooting I have not been able to use my Sonos One speakers to coordinate with my newly purchased ARC, as a surround sound setup. The Sonos chat promised a response over a week ago-no followup noted. Given these issues I would suggest another manufacturer should be used. The high price and poor performance is a malignant combination

I've had the original full sized Sonos sound bar for years. I was forever moving it around in my highly reflective room trying to hear the TV dialog. It was okay and worked well enough vs. the TV speakers, but I still needed ear phones to hear speech on many shows and movies. The Arc not only sounds better but it allows me to enjoy many more shows without additional head phones. Maybe it's the much improved center channel process. A very welcome improvement.

I purchased this product as a sound bar for my Samsung Frame TV installation. Installation was tricky primarily due to the complexity of the Frame installation, but the finished product is beautiful and the sound is excellent. I have added a Sonos Subwoofer and plan to add two Sonos One speakers for surround. I was frustrated in that initially the sound worked, then didn't work, then went in and out. Following some internet research, I unplugged the Arc and replugged it in to reset it. Following this, so far so good.

This sound bar has really impressed me. Let me start with the packaging (which I know has nothing to do with sound quality or ease of use) which is lets you know you are getting a premium product. It is a well constructed box with locking tabs that allows it to be opened easily. Once opened the sound bar itself is wrapped is a sleeve of soft material specifically made for it. Setup was a breeze the app was very easy to use and within a few minutes it was up and running. I immediately turned on the voice enhancement and was blown away by what a difference it made in shows / movies I have watched before. The room I have it in is not very big and I can say the sound bar by itself produces a more than enough bass for me. I wanted a sound bar with Dolby Atmos that did not require a sub or surrounds and I'm very pleased with it so far. The nice part about this system is I can always expand it down the round if I decide to put it in a bigger room. If you are considering this sound bar do yourself a favor and pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed.

It's as great as all the other reviews state. By itself in a small room, it would be all you need. But in a larger room, like where our main TV is, I would recommend getting the sub and S1's for your rear speakers. We were having trouble hearing the dialog on our old 5.1 system, even though I was using Definitive Technology speakers, which ain't cheap. But with the Arc, every word comes through crystal clear. With the sub and rear speakers, it definitely outperforms my old 5.1 system. The only problem I ran into was with the HDMI cable that Sonos supplied with the ARC. It would not recognize that I was plugged into the ARC input on my TV. I had to use my high speed HDMI cable for it to work. As far as playing music, I was not impressed with it. I would rather listen to music with my Yamaha receiver and Definitive Technology speakers.

Solid Choice for Movies and Music

Bought this to complete my 65" LG OLED TV and I couldn't be more pleased. I use it for both TV sound and music. I did not add the sub or surround back speakers and do not plan to do so in my space. For me, the base is very substantial to the extent that I keep it set in the -6 range. If you want feel the thunder, especially in Dolby Atmos you will get it from this sound bar. eARC connection is a plus and the Sonos app works well. I use IOS and it is a seamless addition to Apple HomeKit. Of course Crutchfield is amazing. It was sold out everywhere. I ordered on Sept. 15 with an estimated backorder ship date of Sept. 30 and it shipped on the 23rd.

I love the ARC but it is not totally perfect. One issue I have run into is that I have a receiver also connected to my LG CX and sometimes the TV and Arc will not communicate. The Sonos app shows that the Arc can't communicate with the TV and it tells you to unplug all the other connections to your TV. I am not sure if this a Arc/eArc issue but obviously it is known by Sonos since there are intructions in their app. I added a simple HDMI switch between the receiver and TV to fix the issue. The sound quality is great but I did find some bass issues. Using Trueplay, it sounded like the Arc speakers were getting too much bass for their size and they were distorting (there is a long post on the Sonos site about this). Disabling Trueplay got rid of most of this. I ended up adding a sub and SL for surrounds. I have to say the sound now is truly amazing. Adding a sub really improves the sound bar sound in all the frequencies which was a big surprise to me. I think adding the sub allows the 11 sound bar speakers to focus on the mid and highs instead of bass because when toggling the sub off and on you can really hear a big difference in vocals and the mids. They are much brighter and clearer when the sub is active. I have a fairly expensive home theater system and while the Arc can't compete in overall bass, when it comes to sound quality the Arc is right up there and maybe even better is some aspects!

A Great Do-All Sound Bar

The Sonos Arc is sort of the Swiss Army Knife of sound bars! With its many drivers, it provides a full audio spectrum of frequencies except for the very lowest for which a subwoofer is recommended. (I had a Sonos Sub which does improve performance for both music and streamed TV material.) The Arc also does a reasonably good job of passing surround sound material without needing separate surround speakers. It's ability to process Dolby Atmos sound through its up-facing drivers is certainly a plus; just be sure the source, be it TV, streaming service or DVD, is passing an Atmos signal to the Arc. Setup is easy and quick even for a first time Sonos user. All in, the Arc is a cleverly designed and superior accessory which provides excellent sound quality, without the need of add-on devices like a home theater receiver, additional speakers and associated required wiring.
Pros: Great sound from standalone accessory. Easy setup and tuning for the room it is in. Dolby Atmos capability. No wiring required supplemental speakers, even those in other rooms. Clear vocal and dialog reproduction.
Cons: Documentation could be better organized and helpful. The Sonos app could be better designed to be more intuitive.

I was blown away by the Sonos Arc's soundstage. When paired with the Gen 3 Sub, and the One SLs for the surrounds, that is where this system truly came alive. I found myself completely immersed in clear, distortion-free, powerful sound. This soundbar is my first and I was concerned that it wouldn't be able to produce the same quality of sound I was experiencing with my existing wired 5.1 system. I am glad I was wrong, and the investment was worth it. In addition, the Arc was sold out everywhere including Sonos' store. With my previous positive experiences with Crutchfield, I decided to order through them even though it wasn't immediately available. I was excited to learn they were able to get it shipped out to me within a week, when I was hearing that through other outlets it was taking upwards of a month to get.

The atmos effects tickle my ears when watching movies with well recorded movies such as star wars. I even listened to atmos mixed tracks on Tidal. Very hit and miss but cute attempt and fun to listen to certain music in a different format. Pair this with their sub and surround speakers for best experience. Great purchase and would highly recommend.

After years of just using the TV speakers, it is so nice to have crystal clear audio and a full sound! The Sonos Arc is an amazing soundbar. We have a 16x20 room with 10ft vaulted ceilings that peak at 15ft and we are using just this soundbar, which fills the whole room with quality sound! Since we have such a large room, I will be saving up for the Sonos Sub and the two rear wireless surrounds for movies. Ivy at Crutchfield was a great help and appreciated her advice as she walked me through several options I was considering and she recommended the Sonos Arc after answering all my questions. As one key criteria, I was looking for a soundbar that would tune to the room given the somewhat unique family room we have to make sure it was money well spent. We use the Airplay feature all the time so we can play music without having the TV turn on (and AirPlaying through our AppleTV). It was a breeze to set up before we had a family movie night on the same day it arrived. Also, we appreciate that it has night sound and dialogue enhancement. The Sonos app is easy to use and great to control the soundbar. Crutchfield truly cares about their customers and gives great advice - couldn't be happier!
Pros: Very full sound out of just a sound bar. Easy to set up. Great functionality with AirPlay, connecting to Spotify, and Sonos app.
Cons: Doesn't have the 4K pass through that some may be looking for (nice to have but not have to have for me). For large rooms like mine, may not get the full benefit of Dolby Atmos and need a sub to fully round out for movies and depending on the music you like.

I love this sound bar. In addition having it work wirelessly as a surround sound system with a 2 Sonos Ones and a Base 3, I have it integrated with all of my other Sonos speakers around the house and in the outbuilding. I can listen the TV feed or music in the kitchen, bedroom, deck or shed.

Great Soundbar with one minor glitch! Attention Sony Owners

After much research and deliberation, I landed on the Sonos Arc as my new soundbar selection. I paired the Arc with the Sonos Subwoofer and a pair of One SL speakers as my rear units. Overall the soundbar exceeds my expectations but I'm glad I added the sub and SL's since our room is on the larger side. The sound is very rich in any production utilizing Atmos sound, my reason for purchase. Setup was seamless and easy with the new Sonos app via IOS. I couldn't recommend this soundbar and the Sonos architecture enough. I'm adding a Sonos Beam to my bedroom next. One note on a glitch with this soundbar if you're a newer Sony TV owner. I paired the Arc with a Sony A9G 65" Bravia and the CEC channel via the Arc connection put my Bravia TV into sleep mode after approx 2 mins of viewing from any video source. I After multiple calls and troubleshooting exercises I found a CEC less HDMI connector which remedied the problem. If I had not located this fix, it would change my decision as audio would have been without Dolby Atmos as the connection must be via EARC for this option.

Simple set up and great sound in less than 15 minutes out of the box. Glad to finally have HDMI capability with the Sonos products. Samsung TV recognized it as soon as it was connected and sound quality is amazing. First movie I watched had a rain scene in and I got up to close the windows because I actually thought it was raining behind me. I think for the cost it would rival the sound from many receiver and speaker set ups with no wires. Music sounds great too.

I've owned the Beam and the Playbase. This outperforms both of them by far. You can definitely tell that you are getting additional directional sound from the speakers firing in different directions. It's very powerful, it's rare that we have it turned up over 60%

A recent cross country move let me without a surround sound speaker system for our TV. I decided it was time to make the move to a soundbar. My goal was to find a soundbar that could recreate a quality surround sound without adding any additional speakers or bass unit. I quickly settled on the Sonos Arc when reading early reviews. My dilemna soon became one of which comes first, the horse or the cart. My 10 year old big screen plasma tv still works great but alas it has no hdmi eArc input. I couldn't afford to upgrade both at the same time. A chat with a Crutchfield agent convinced me that my 10 year TV would still greatly benefit from the Sonos Arc. He was right. Even using the digital input, the sound at times is extremely impressive. What really stands out is the clarity of the dialogue! I'm planning on a new TV after the first of the year and looking forward to the entire performance of Dolby Atmos which, I'm confident, will rate a 5 out of 5 stars.

I love my new SONOS ARC. I was worried if it would have enough base but with the built in equalizer no problem. Only issue is the power cord does not securely fasten in place. I have to use a piece of tape to hold it in or will come out and then no power. I have asked for you to provide a new power cord but NO response. Please look into this. Thanks

Our current TV only supports optical (no ARC or eARC), but it still sounds great. Definitely way better than the cheap sound bar we had. The Alexa integration works great too. Looking forward to seeing what it can do with eARC when we get a new TV at the end of the year!

Well Sonos has figured out the sound bar. Great sound, easy set up and automatic integration with our Sony TV. If you are looking for ease of operation, you can't beat a sound bar. If you use Sonos they you have another speaker in your music listening library. Can't wait to add the Sonos Sub one day.

I wanted to upgrade my 20 year old Bose surround sound system. I watched the Crutchfield review for the Sonos Arc and decided to purchase the Sonos surround sound system. Best feature is no wires except for the power cords. Setting up was a breeze with the Sonos App. The App also has Trueplay which establishes the location where you sit watching TV, then sends out various sounds as you walk around the room to establish the acoustics of the room. I was impressed with this feature. The App also allows changing the bass and treble. Great sound bar.
Pros: Great sound when paired with the powered subwoofer and rear speakers.
Cons: Only issue was sound bar blocked the remote sensing device on the TV. Once I raised the TV on its stand issue was resolved.

Wasn't sure I wanted to spend this much for a soundbar.....until I heard it. This thing is clear as a bell, and puts out nothing but beautiful music. If you're on the fence, but want the best, the Sonos Arc is for you! Also, a tip of the hat to Crutchfield. In a day in age where customer service is a thing of the past, this company delivers on its promises!

Had a Sony HT-ST5000, was never happy with voices. When it died got Arc and it is 10 times better in every way except bass but awaiting my Sonus sub and expect that to be great also.

Yep, I must agree with the other reviews--this Sonos Arc is fantastic. I was looking between Bose, Sonos, LG, Sony. I read and reviewed. A few things pointed me this way. Sonos is just integrated seamlessly with my other Sonos Connects throughout the house, so that was a major positive. The Atmos was another. I have a guest room, which I'm using as a, sort of, theater room, when guests aren't around. So I really didn't want to have a full surround sound system, I really wanted a SoundBar. I also recently purchased the LG OLED 77 inch CX model, which is likely to arrive in a few days. Unboxing is super easy, hooking up is super easy through the app. I was ready to go within 10 minutes of downloading updates, etc. I hooked up HDMI through the TV's (ARC...my new LG will have eARC so it can better support Atmos) Sound is fantastic. I was actually blown away by such a little bar making so much room filling sound. I plan on installing on the wall and hiding all the wires. The bass is decent enough, but I think I will splurge for the Gen 3 subwoofer accompanying module. The *ONLY* downside is that I don't know what the Sonos is outputting. meaning, is it actually decoding and playing ATMOS, pseudo-5.1, stereo, etc? I have no idea. But, over-all, what a great product.

Initially, I had second thoughts about the Arc because it does not come with a sub-woofer, but the quality of sound that it is able to produce is pretty amazing. I have tested games, movies, and music so far, and I am in awe, partly because I have never paid more than $200 for a soundbar. Setting it up through the Sonos app is simple, and it paired with my Sony Bravia A9G OLED TV without any issues. An equally pricey sub-woofer is coming out in July. Be sure to measure your home entertainment space before buying; it is big, but perhaps not as gigantic as others seem to think. Extra thanks to Crutchfield for getting an Arc to me despite it being back-ordered until the end of time. Exemplary customer service.

My wife really wanted the white version of the Arc sound bar so we pre-ordered it. It looks great and sounds good too in the large room I have it in. The voices are much clearer at a lower volume level than with the TV. Not much base, but we have the Gen 3 white sub on order.
Pros: Fairly easy to set up. Looks great. Sounds great.
Cons: Changing networks was not really straight forward until the device was "registered" with the app. Bit pricey.

The sound fill the room beautifully and the set up was easy and intuitive through the app. I'm very happy with the Arc, it's also very easy to transition from playing music to watching tv. For me it was absolutely worth the money.

In comparison to tv speakers it is absolutely wonderful. Voices are extremely clear. I do have the soundbar connected to the sonos subwoofer and it does make it help on the bottom end but not much. I could be just as happy without the subwoofer.

Great sound in music and movies, so far. I am having issues with audio stopping after pausing either one. This is so even for LG TV (2020model with eARC out) data or Roku data. Still hoping for a work a round, or I'll be returing it ??. Have not yet figured out if i am getting Atmos sound.

Finally took the plunge and glad I did. Formerly, a Denon-Polk AV setup. This speaker on it's own is fantastic. Crisp highs and a decent enough bass response to have me wavering on adding the Gen 3 sub when it releases. Movies and music sound great - even using the lesser quality optical cable. Virtually disappears in front of my television. And thank you, Crutchfield, for delivering as promised. You do it EVERY time and should be commended more often. So many, including direct websites, are delayed & non-responsive these days. The convenient excuse of the pandemic. Not Crutchfield. Bravo!!
