OMG!!! So worth it. I had 4x6's installed in the dash of my 2004 wrangler. Dropped some 5.25" speakers into these pods, installed them in like 20 mins (very simple) and presto! What a difference! Fit very easily into the dash factory locations. Highly recommended. What are you waiting for?

Almost perfect

Fits pretty good in the location, but the speakers are very close, almost touching the metal frame inside the dash.

Big Improvement!

These provided a big improvement in sound! Although not perfect with it being a Jeep and using it most of the time without a top on it. Previously about 40/45mph was the max speed where the stereo was still usable. Maybe picked up another 15/20mph. I do need to get some thin foam tape to help seal the speaker wire grommets and few gaps where the pods slope down towards the center and leave a small opening.

Worked great as a stock replacement. Fit into my 2005 LJ Rubicon without modifications to the steel brackets. A little expensive for what they are but better than leaving the speakers open backed.

Solid & Fit depends on speaker

The pods as designed seem nice. However the flange is a bit thick and doesn't work well, or requires modifications if the 5.25s you put in have a thick basket. I paired these with Rockford Fosgate RF P152, which have a thick frame. The speakers and pods combined were too thick for the dash of my TJ. The speaker pressed into the dash frame. I managed to shave the pod down by about half. I'm sure it reduced the structural integrity of the pod, but it fit. I'd be less concerned if it was $20.. but at this price for ABS molds... this is my first disappointing purchase from Crutchfield.

5 1/4 pods

Little tricky getting them in and not ripping the suspension, pod flange a bit thick, suspension rubber real close to the dash

Outstanding sound

These make a phenomenal difference in sound quality in a TJ. These literally bolt right into a 2000 TJ no issues at all. I put Infinity Reference 5.25 speakers in these everything screws right in and fits perfect. These are well made, if you want great sound out of the front speakers of a Jeep TJ this is the combo for you. These things perform very well and the sound quality over stock is outstanding.

They made a difference in the front speakers of my Jeep TJ. Using Kicker 5 1/4 speakers, it seemed like it directed the sound more. Installation was easy.

Great fitting - even w/ aftermarket glove box.

Haven't installed with speakers yet, but I test fit them empty. They fit in the factory locations at either side of the lower dash in my '05 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ) perfectly. I have an aftermarket lockable glove compartment made by Tuffy Security Products and I was a bit concerned that it would contact the pods. I am happy to report that there was room to spare and everything will mesh well. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is that some of the reviews I've read said that there is a clearance issue with some speakers installed. I'll have to see how that works out with the ones I plan to install. Stay tuned!

Happy, happy, happy

Installed these behind some Infinity Kappas, and it definitely helps clearing, and redirecting the sound. All tones are much cleaner and richer. Although the price is too steep for what they are, they are worth it to correct the sound.

Great option for upgrading your Jeep's dash speakers

Great craftsmanship and an easy install. Better option than using 4X6 adapter plates in the Jeep front dash. Larger speakers gives better options and sound.

A must have if replacing in dash speakers in Jeep TJ. Putting after market speakers in without pods or some form of proper installation completely defeats any gain in quality you would have otherwise gotten. Makes a HUGE difference. Worth every penny.

What happened to my mid-bass?

After installing this product all my mid-bass was nowhere to be found, none! After some, very hard to find information was obtained, I drilled 1" holes on the back of the pods and discarded the polyfill. My mid base has returned!

They give a tube/tunnel sound to the speaker. Due to the infinite baffle design requirement of the speakers. I fixed this by ditching the polly fill, and adding a 1" diameter hole to the back of the pod. After the alterations the speakers sounded really good.

I've owned my 2000 TJ for 8 years. First thing I did was put 5.25" speakers in the dash. Why I did not spend the money on these I'll never understand. These are fantastic and make a huge difference in sound. Highly recommend.

Excellent product

Awesome product. Direct plug and play with my Pioneer 5-1/4" speakers. I used everything that came with the kit for the install. It did made a difference with the pods installed verses without. Before i had these pods installed the sound was very "echo-y" and "tin can" like. Now it sounds more deeper and clearer. Excellent product.

Speaker pods / baffles

Installed on a Jeep Wrangler TJ. Help immensely on increasing sound volume. Sound is deeper and less "tinny" (made up word). Used the speaker pods at the 5.25 Kickers installed in the dash and foam baffles for the 5.25 Kickers in the overhead sound bar. (FYI - I also stuffed polyfil before installing the foam baffles at the overhead sound bar)

Better sound than stock

I had some off brand 4x6 speakers in the front when I purchased the Jeep. You could not hear the music even if you placed it all up front. Replaced them with 5 1/4" Kicker 2-way speakers and the enclosure, the difference is night and day. The vocals sound crisp and the bass is right on. The enclosures were really simple to put into the space and instructions were as well.

Great option

All you need to get 5.25" in the dash of a Jeep Wrangler, I think that having them enclosed in these has to benefit the sound. If nothing else you don't have Poli-fil falling down out of the dash.

Jeeps should have come with these.

The factory dash speakers in the TJ are pretty meager. These pods enable you to install much better/larger/round speakers. They even come with wiring harnesses and poly fill for sounds. Nice product.
