Great invention

These are great. With the thin wires of Porsche rear backup lite this is the only way to tap into the power source and make the camera work properly.

Perfect for that annoying parking brake wire.

Perfect for tapping into the parking brake wire on the 02 Toyota Camry! I had the hand brake in the center console, but the cover lifts right up very easily after being pried with the pry tool. Crutchfield tech support was on point finding a you tube video showing how to pry that cover, so that was great! The red wire with white stripe was right there and the posi tap made it so EASY to safely tap directly into this wire without breaking it. I used the blue connector since the wire from the car stereo was # 18 AWG based on stripping it. Worked perfectly. I even accidentally tapped first, then inserted the wire and twisted it onto the tapped part of the connector, didn't have any issues. Seems like you could do it either way, I honestly don't know what is better, but the way I did it worked just fine for me and didn't cause the car stereo's light green wire to twist all over the place outside the connector, so that was great! I only hand tightened to avoid damaging the existing wire that I was tapping into. I would have used this same approach for the reverse and speed sensor wires, but I didn't need to bother trying to find either of them for my particular installation.

Feels more secure over other taps

Solid connection. Spendy but it feels more secure than other tapping methods. I was too far into the dash and not skilled enough to attempt soldering. This did the trick.

Super handy for low risk splicing into factory wiring harnesses. I could never get T taps to work reliably, but these puncture the wire even on the smallest gauge factory wiring, cleanly and easily. I was impressed how much better it was than t-taps.

These are the fastest way to tap into existing wiring. They are the "secret sauce" for quick and painless "tap" for a "hot lead". To help make it last longer "under" the vehicle where mine is located. I just put some dielectric grease on the connection.

This is a really cool product. I used them to tap into my reverse lights to hook up an aftermarket back up camera. It was very convenient to not need crimpers in such a short span of wire in a tight space!

Try them! You will love them!

Keeping in mind that soldering is the best connection you will ever make.... These are the only type of wire connectors I will use for any automotive. I use them for everything from stereos, to aftermarket lighting, to gauges and performance products. These taps pierce the wire with a small pin. It keeps everything clean and secure without damaging the wire you are tapping into. I used to use Scotch Locks and always dreaded it. Scotch locks tend to vibrate loose, almost cut the wire making the connection, break sometimes when connecting. Trust me... Throw out all your other options for tapping into wires and order these. You won't regret it!

These things are great! Work as intended. Super easy to install. Only used the two red ones though. They work well for small 18 GA wire. I didn't need the other sizes in the pack and if you are planning on tapping more than one speaker, you may need more than the two red ones that come in this pack. Consider a pack of only the size you need, rather than an assortment.

Best Wire Taps Ever

I bought these taps to install a subwoofer and amplifier to the stock audio system in my 1990 BMW 3 Series, as I wanted to preserve some of the awesome 90s tech. I researched several different taps but I ultimately decided that these were the easiest and had the cleanest install. I'm very happy with the result and will definitely use these again!

These wire taps work well, and I like them better than the cheaper squeeze/cut T-splice connectors. Just be careful which pack you order. When I received my order, I had received this variety pack of connectors, 2 of each size. But what I actually needed was 6 of the same size connectors. I could not use the 4 larger-sized connectors as all of the speaker wire that I was tapping into was 16Ga. Purchase the 6-pack of correct size connectors instead if you're just tapping into speaker wire like I was.

Everything with self installation should be this easy and satisfying these inexpensive pieces of heaven will ensure not only a good connection but one that leaves almost no sign that anything was spliced. Ie no cutting and butchering ur electrical system and no million dollar harnesses to buy.

In the past, I always bought the adapters to clip into the existing speaker wires for a clean oem look. These are so much easier- especially if you don't have much room to work. I also used one under the console to tap into the lighter for my amp remote without having to pull the dash apart to splice a wire.

Impractically packaged but great product

These are amazing and easy to use. The only complaint I have is that they don't package them in packs that have the same size. The package has like two of each size, so if you're wiring a stereo and have to tap into several wires that are the same size, you need to buy several packages of these and not use a bunch of them in each pack. That gets spendy fast.

Posi-Products - are they the right solution for everything?

When these little tools were suggested I was grateful - finally a solution for the timely process of splicing. However, what happened makes me wonder about their universal usage. We were replacing a stereo in a 2003 Infiniti G35, and splicing an adapter into the mix so the stereo controls would work from the steering wheel. We used these posi-products for the process - and the process failed. Not being expert at this, we backed up and checked all of our connection decisions to make sure we had everything matching, and everything was in order; yet it didn't work. We removed the posi-taps and they appeared to do exactly what was expected - a small hole puncture exactly through the middle of the wire. We further tightened the connections (assuming user error) - and still no success. And yet, when we replaced these taps with a more traditional splicing approach, everything worked perfectly. So, my question remains - for this project was the small piercing sufficient to make the connection? I don't really know the problem, but this situation will come to mind the next time I need a solution for splicing.

I installed a Rostra cruise control on my daughters Hyundai Tucson and the instructions said the one connection to a hot lead needed to be soldered. There was very little room under the dash to do anything so I decided to find options to soldering. I accidentally came upon an article about the advantages of soldering over making any type of mechanical connection. One of the comments to the article raved about the Posi Taps as an alternative to soldering. I began to research the Posi Taps and decided to purchase them. They worked perfectly and we have had no problems with the connection. I would fully endorse this product to anyone who is looking for an alternative to soldering. This is a great and time saving product.

Excellent product

Love this product, used it to connect my wiring for the rear taillights and it was simple and perfect the first time. No cutting, no soldering, just put the main wire in the slot and tighten the top, strip a small end off the taillight wire and screw into the bottom with another cap and it was all over. Simplest wiring job I have had in years.

Feeling Positive About Posi-Taps!

I don't like cutting into factory wire harnesses when I don't have to, and Posi-Taps allow me to not "have to." They also allow me to do a quick disconnect if I want to restore the original wiring configuration. These will be in my toolbox from now on!
