Good for the money

The AQ Pearl replaced a generic optical cable going from my TV to my high-end audio system. I can't say there was a night and day difference, but the soundstage does appear noticeably wider and deeper with sharper overall focus. Bass extension also seems improved along with a modest boost in midrange clarity (more intelligible dialogue). High frequencies seem largely unaffected -- still reasonably crisp but without any harshness or glare. Overall, a pretty decent upgrade for the money.

I just re-did my A/V set-up in my family room. Added all new AudioQuest Pearl cables. Great quality for the price.I could definitely see and hear the difference with these new AudioQuest cables vs the older, lower quality cables I have been using. I would definitely recommend this upgrade to anyone.

It's an Audio Quest, so I hope it holds up. The reason I have my doubts is because their cables are getting thinner and thinner all the time.

This was a simple upgrade but it did make an improvement on my system. The optical connection runs from my PlayStation to my NAD Masters V2. I could notice that it softened everything just a tad. Even a small upgrade can produce a noticeable difference. I used for a whole year a cheap optical cable, so for me the subtle upgrade was easier to notice after spending so much time with the cheaper cable initially.

I wasn't sure if there was a difference in optical cables, but I can tell you these make a discernible difference, Highs are higher and crisper in the bass is tighter. Best $40 you can invest for a return and sound quality!!

I have this cable connected from a legacy Sony CD player to a Denon receiver. It delivers great sound and works perfectly. The construction or body/weight is a bit light for a optical cable. I am always afraid of kinking or breaking the optic strand. You just need to be careful when installing, otherwise sit back and enjoy the music...

Does a wonderful job for a reasonable price!

Pros: No compromises in sound quality that I can hear.

Cons: I wish I'd have ordered a bit longer than 1.5 meters...It's a bit of a stretch going from farthest points of my typical, low profile AV cabinet.
